Thanks Mike for adding that video! And thanks to all for the nice compliments. It's a terrific radio and coupled to my Sirio GPS27 ½ wave omni 30' up, it performs well! Thanks all! - Brad
Oh my God does this station bring back memories. I got started in CB & HAM back in the 60's. Another terrific radio was a Demco Satalite with the Demco modulator + a D 104 microphone. Stay safe all. TMP, Unit 22 from N.J.
At a quick glance, that CPI rig looks like a piece of high end test equipment, top notch in my opinion! Ive seen UDX 59 on the OTR alot, now i can put a face to the name. Thanks to both of you for sharing this fine piece of awesomeness!🤠👍🎙⚡️
Old school? If it doesn’t glow in the dark it isn’t old school! Btw, take it from an electronics technician, unless you know how to use a service monitor, don’t screw with any adjustments inside of this radio! It is unlike any normal radio that was ever designed! Nice setup!👍
I had 2 of them, along with some duplicate accessories. I did not have the space to have one setup on the desk for occasional use, so they spent their time with me on a shelving unit along with some other radios I didn't have space for. Before our big move last year, I sold all the CPI gear, and then a bunch of other stuff (It turns out the new radio room is about half the size of the old one), but I'm happy it went to someone who would use them. I should have started a bar graph to track the pricing of some of these older classic radios, because prices wildly fluctuated within a given year to the next. One year you couldn't touch a CPI-2000 for under $700, and a year later, most CPI-2000's were well under $500. I bought my two during that year, one for $250, and a second one the next month for $300 (Great condition and worked well). Same with Stoner Pro-40s - one year they're close to $900, the next year, sellers found it difficult to move them priced under $500. I did follow one seller who had a $400 BIN price, and he had to repost the ad at least six times before he finally removed the ad. Some good advice for eBay buyers: even if it's the dream rig you've always wanted, but kinda pricey, resist the temptation to press that mouse button. Even the rare ones will repeatedly show up at some point in time at a price you can afford. You don't have to pull the trigger on the first one that comes along, thinking you'll never see another in the same condition again... because you will. Brad has a nice setup, thanks for making a short video letting folks get a closer look at it along with some CPI accessories. 👍
I've heard stories about alien abductions and the aliens returning the people later with no concept of the amount of time they were gone. I didn't know they abducted radios but that must be what happened because that base looks like it just came from the factory. 😂It has to be one of the most pristine CPI's I've ever seen. Awesome, thanks for sharing it.

The look of it reminds me of something out of an old sci fi futuristic movie. Very very cool.
Always made me think
if Luke Skywalker has a base station setup somewhere , it would look just like this !
Dangitty, that’s sweet 👍🏻👍🏻
