I have the 728 and it's a pain not having a stop on it. I will be making one of these for it. Thanks for the video on this. I also have the PM1130 lathe and I'm going to put a stop on it as well since it's a pain when you are threading the last little bit by hand and having to place the chuck key in to counter as a person is threading by hand in the lathe.

Nice idea on the spindle stop. For me the best part was another one of those "why didn't I think of that" ideas with fly cutter setting tool. So simple yet so effective. I think everytime I start designing a tool or fixture I tend to over complicate it somehow. The KISS principal (keep it simple stupid) just escapes me sometimes. Nice (useful) video Joe thank you! Hi Denny, thank you for your comments and the compliment, I’m sure you will be pleased with the new fly cutter setter . I use mine often and my friend Jim (my video man) said why don’t you show that. I just never thought it was important. He often points out the obvious and we have a good laugh. I to sometimes make things to complicated. Joe

Thanks for the video. I love how one idea spurs others. I have a mechanical depth stop/DRO scale mount around the spindle that I'll now likely mod for the stop. The fly cutter jig is another project I can use this for fly cutters and boring heads.

The 727v is about the same as the 728 it should be the same except for the size. Thank you for your interest and your feedback. Joe
