Having spent my youth thoroughly enjoying living in Coolangatta this video was an excellent look back at how Coolangatta became so cool. Great video!

🇦🇺👍🦘🙏 A credit to you Mr Bill Stafford. A wonderful commentary and it was my reward to be informed and watching the history of the early coastal towns and a rich historical part of the Australian coast. I Appreciate your work , your effort and good luck with your future endeavours . Many thanks.

I believe the boat wrecked there came from and was named after Coolangatta in the Illawarra region on NSW south coast.

Hi, it's the City of Gold Coast (Council) Video Production Team here - we really love this video and were wondering whether you'd consent to us using extracts of it in a City-wide (non-commercial) presentation. We hope to hear from you.

My parents honeymooned here and we holidayed when I was real young. Does anyone remember an old tourist attraction for kids called I think "funny cars" they were small electric vehicles kids rode around a track. No sign of the on the web today.

The only memory I have of this place is that I was molested in a 'phone booth near the beach in the 50s.
And of course the changes are disappointing....TOO many people and hi-rises are an eyesore !

Well in those days the internet was in black and white. It was only on for 3 hours a day. We used to get all dressed up in our Sunday best to log onto it. We'd log onto letsbuyit.com and order a gas mask and pound of tripe. Then when we finished with the computer we'd switch it off and we'd all stand up and sing the national anthem.

Hmmmm.... No mention of the people who were originally from there - the Kombumerri People, of course.

In my opinion we are all children of mother earth and I find it horrible that anyone thinks that they can own the land but unfortunately for all of human history we have fought and killed for it.

So I'd like to know whose bright idea it was to rip up all the train lines only to force our generation to pay to put it back again ? I've heard rumours it was Russ Hinze and Bjeke. Can anyone alloborate please ? Thanks in advance
