I have heard stories of the Laurie brothers in the family, Tom, Jack, George of Tanami and their sister Kate Annie who married a Clay and settled into apple farming in Donnybrook. I'm very proud to be a descendent of theirs. Great figures of their times, especially Tom, wish I had got to meet him.
my great great grandfathers name was Thomas Laurie . he had other brothers they went to california gold rush for 10 years , then bought NOWENDOC STATION . NSW
This was most interesting to me as a gold panner and medal detector dude. I enjoy the flower gold emjem thoes days. Great folks in the field still today . Well from a Wyoming point of view
Good one Graeme. Thankyou. Much enjoyed and loved the old pics. I try to imagine the thrill experienced by the early prospectors finding a nugget and then seeing gold laying around every where. What a marvelous era to have lived in. So many untold stories of so many holes I have found in Victoria. Australia has such a "rich history".
The broken hill original bottle dump is so deep and so high of a pile of ash and glass ya have to see it to believe it 😂winter is the time to go digging for history but ya be keen to digging in summer 🌺 it’s brutal hot 🥵
Wow the true goldmining stories are the most amazing stories of a golden era. Plenty of positive and negative lifestyles going on in an era that will never repeat itself on planet 🌎 nice doc
You missed one of the most important gold fields lambing flat. Not just for the gold but also for the massacres, the reading of the riot act and the major reason for the white Australia act.
Excellent documentary
This is very factual and intriguing. This deserves a like. :)
10 years ago is crazy

Great retelling of the gold rush days. Telling it as it was, which is history...not covering it up which is not history
