It's really unfortunate that people don't understand miranda well enough to know that in situations like this, not only do they have the right to remain silent, they have the obligation to themselves to do so. Each one of these suspects eventually had access to an attorney, who no doubt ripped them a new one for waiving miranda. Notice how she wrapped the warning and the waiver into one entity, and framed it almost as if he had no choice but to waive? Most of these guys probably would have had much leaner sentences if they had just kept their mouth shut and let their attorney do the talking.

Or will be a killer if the legal system keeps letting him and those like him out of prison. It has been Proven these people cannot be rehabilitated. And eventual commit murder.
Watched every one of the TCaP episodes. Fowler is the only one that scared me. The way he quickly jumps up from the chair in the sting house and strides, almost lunges towards the decoy, is frightening. If that had been real, the poor girl would have almost certainly been raped or even killed. Chilling to even think about. People like this never change.
I was arrested half a dozen times in my early 20s (five times for possession of heroin and/or marijuana and once for manslaughter, which was dismissed a day later because it was clearly self-defense.) During each one -- even when I was so high I couldn't see straight and barely understood where I was -- I remembered to do four very simple things: Don't try to run or fight, be respectful, invoke my right to remain silent -- and then say nothing else until my lawyer told me to. This guy passed the first two with flying colors -- and failed the second two miserably. I'm glad the guilty ones don't keep quiet, but it still never ceases to amaze me how easily and willingly people admit to major felonies. I've never heard of a case where talking to the police helped a suspect. On the other hand, there are plenty of cases where the simple act of saying three or four words meant the difference between walking out of the station free and clear -- and life in prison. And that includes several cases where the defendant turned out to be innocent.
I've evaded SERIOUS charges (up to and including, but not limited to: agg assault, GL2nd, Possession with Intent 2nd) and their consequences, because of using the facts to obfuscate the truth of the various cases None of this "I swear I'm bein honest" chicanery these LE agents have to content with, rife with justifying and minimizing. When I'm caught, I fess up, and accept my comeuppance with grace. There's something to be said for not wasting the cops time with avoidant shucking and jiving, combined with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of NYS CPL, and the ability to use those to avoid Grand Jury proceedings. The aforementioned felonies suddenly became misdemeanor charges with advantageous dispositions in my favor, utilizing only a little spin.
Not that this means anything but I remember watching how many men would come by the decoys and never dress decently when meeting a woman or in their case, a girl.
When someone asks you if you want to give up your RIGHTS so they can collect evidence that WILL be used AGAINST YOU in a legal proceeding, the correct answer kids is: NO
41:15 "I got a cell phone. Can I use it?" I'm no detective, but even I know he wanted to call his girlfriend to tell her to clear out the computer of all the child porn.
He tried the D-Mac approach. Before y’all search the house , at least let me call my mama and tell her what an idiot I am. It didn’t work then and it didn’t work this time .
He doesn't want this to "ruin" his girlfriend's life but, he does not mind totally destroying the life of young girls. Makes me absolutely sick.. disgusting!!
The point is there COULD'VE been. The guy traveled there fully expecting sex from a child. You saw how he quickly went after the decoy with barely an acknowledgement or greeting. He went there for one reason and one reason only, never viewing the decoy as anything but a plaything to use. Had this not been a sting, it could've been an actual minor in that situation. God only knows what he'd planned. If that wasn't bad enough, he had already been caught with an actual MINOR and couldn't even remember the girl's name and that's just the one we know about. Who knows how many other victims there were that were terrified and shamed into silence. It's disgusting.
@@victoriavonheals2384, it basically would never happen. Young girls learn about those things fast. Why would they talk to strangers online without any understand of the trouble that it invites? And they're getting unlimited Internet access?

@@michaelsuder486 True in most cases because they would blow it. The goal you have in court is to show that the prosecution didn't prove you are guilty of the crime. The goal in the interrogation room is to have you hang yourself. If you don't take the stand look at all the answers the DA misses out on . It's not about telling your story. You do not have to prove you were innocent . You are already assumed to be that in court .

They're not the brightest of individuals.
Well, let’s be thankful that they’re as dumb as they are creepy.
...and who does THAT help, the lighter sentence? The whole point of this exercise is to get these people out of circulation!

🤪🤣🥹
I was arrested half a dozen times in my early 20s (five times for possession of heroin and/or marijuana and once for manslaughter, which was dismissed a day later because it was clearly self-defense.)
During each one -- even when I was so high I couldn't see straight and barely understood where I was -- I remembered to do four very simple things: Don't try to run or fight, be respectful, invoke my right to remain silent -- and then say nothing else until my lawyer told me to.
Only certain ones certain privileges of innocence is afforded
I assume they get straight up from in front of their computers and straight to the car go straight to the car.
Sign of no respect for the girls or women he meets

Jill, laugh my ass off! Ruin a life? What a joke. There's no kid!

I thought your opportunity to tell your side of the story was when you got to court , I love that you get to tell your side of the story to the police so you can skip the whole court appearance , judge and jury thing
Most defendants are advised against testifying in court
@@michaelsuder486 True in most cases because they would blow it. The goal you have in court is to show that the prosecution didn't prove you are guilty of the crime. The goal in the interrogation room is to have you hang yourself. If you don't take the stand look at all the answers the DA misses out on . It's not about telling your story. You do not have to prove you were innocent . You are already assumed to be that in court .
