I also love packaging my items with tissue paper and ribbons. For smaller items, I use decorative party bags from the Dollar Tree. I always add some kind of topper and/or free gift as well. It makes shipping fun!
Mellissa, I'm not sure who told you to pronounce the "s" on Illinois, but it's not true. It is pronounced Illinoy. Illinois is and Indian word with French spelling. Just like the French word for you (vous) has a silent "s". The French traders were all through the Great Lakes region, and there are tons of these type of names. They did the same thing in Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos (an area once known as French-Indo China). I've worked with many Vietnamese Americans, and their names are almost never pronounced the way they're spelt.

You have a cubic foot before the shipping goes up. So anything under 1,728 inches will ship normal rates. And I know this because I was trying to understand cubic priority shipping, which 1. I didn't know was a thing and 2. I don't really understand even after reading USPS and watching a video. Voila has a both a v and a w sound to it.

How come some sellers don't fold the shirts or clothes twice, that's it. Some sellers fold the clothes like a Subway sandwich; it's to bulky and weights the shipping cost. I fold once maybe twice slide it into a cute poly mailer with my card and a ribbon. It looks so heavy the way you roll the items.

They just showed up, knocking at our door. I told his we needed to tell these people that they would have to call before coming over. He didn't get it at first but told them. I'm sure they all thought I was bizarre.

I figured it out a few months ago and it saves me from having to buy label sheets for my regular printer or having to tape the paper on :) (PS its free - I'm not selling anything lol)
Cheaper than custom shipping if Flat Rate doesn’t fit your package. Its kind of a combination between flat rate and a custom size/weight package, in that it uses distance to calculate but you have to use a special box. It’s one of the options on EBay shipping. You just need USPS’s special size regional a or b boxes.
I love Regional boxes for heavier things. They give a flat rate based on region/location. So 4lbs might normally be $15 to CA but in a regional box, it might only be $10. They don't always make sense when the buyer lives close by, but I almost always check out if it makes sense if something is heavy. The benefit is a cheaper rate for me :)

There are SO many boxes that it is easy to be confused. When it comes to priority mail, there are basically only three options. 1. Boxes that aren't flat rate. You have to weigh the box and calculate the shipping. 2. Regional boxes. 3. Flat rate boxes and mailers that hold up to 70lbs and ship for the same price no matter if they are going next store or across the country. I hope that helps! The box will say if it is flat rate or a regional box. If the box doesn't say "flat rate" or "regional" on it, you can use it for anything and will need to calculate shipping.

If that was the case, you couldn't still order them. But then again, my post office couldn't tell me anything about it at all. They seemed surprised to find out there was an 'Regional A & B' option when I asked.
I asked my postal carrier this morning and he had no idea of why that would be. They are still being offered online and Ebay and PirateShip still offers the option to print labels for them. I wonder if they meant that they no longer carry them in stores? I know some of the USPS priority mailers are not offered in stores but you can still order & use them.
I usually schedule the pick up on Sunday night for Monday morning. So I know waking up on Monday that I will have to get my packages printed out before the mail carrier comes. But I need to schedule the pick up the night before. Does that make sense? LOL.

My local post office told me that Regional boxes are no longer used. !!!!
If that was the case, you couldn't still order them. But then again, my post office couldn't tell me anything about it at all. They seemed surprised to find out there was an 'Regional A & B' option when I asked.
I asked my postal carrier this morning and he had no idea of why that would be.
They are still being offered online and Ebay and PirateShip still offers the option to print labels for them. (Paypal never had that option for some reason).

This article was updated at the end of 2018 and it looks like they are still being used. I wonder if they meant that they no longer carry them in stores? I know some of the USPS priority mailers are not offered in stores but you can still order & use them.
Do you choose the same day as your ship/pick up date? Or do they pick up he next day?
I usually schedule the pick up on Sunday night for Monday morning. So I know waking up on Monday that I will have to get my packages printed out before the mail carrier comes. But I need to schedule the pick up the night before. Does that make sense? LOL.
