- On a recent trip to India, Company C captured the art of rug making. It's incredible to watch these gifted artisans as they hand-tuft intricate designs using a mix brightly-colored yarns. They combine a variety of techniques to produce thickly piled rugs with incredible texture.

Saludos desde Chile🇨🇱
Wow, beautiful.
Compare the tufting gun that they're using, it's so light and simple compared to the tufting guns they're selling here in the U.S
wow amazing!!!
Hi Kat, we use mostly New Zealand wool for our hand made rugs and the sheep there are treated very well.
I'm sure that the sheep are treated better then workers.
@@GGTanguera oof

Beautiful!
From where can i buy this tufting tool in India??

I want to know too
Hello there. I really loved your profile picture. This is my first letter in Arabic “waad”, “و”. Could you please send it to my insta waad.turki. I would be more than happy if you sent this beautiful picture.
The first letter of my name*
probably used just regular tan backing fabric
My guess was burlap, but I dont know....
Hey!
Where is your manufacturing unit located in India?
Hello Miss. apeksha
I am also a rug manufacturer near Varanasi. If interested then let me know. We manufacture all kinds of hand made rugs.
Nice work. Help me get the hand held tufting gun please
latex backed rugs like suryas shed constantly as the glue let's go
no kidding! It is like I have several dogs
Hey Dolly I’m in new rug maker,I’m actually a felter and I did not use any type of backing other than wall and silk around the edges to stop the spread while I’m working with the wool. You sound to see if you know quite a bit about certain clues I would love for you to talk to me more about the constant shedding? I have a Heirloom rug and it is all hand knotted it doesn’t have any glue on it but it sheds a lot too.So please elaborate thank you so much
Wonder if those workers are being paid what they deserve for all their hard hand crafted work.
Kaam hai sir
want to how the wool is harvested from the sheep and if the sheep are treated humane?
It's the quality of materials and technique, not the method. Quality tufted rugs can be made to last for generations.
Get those guys proper masks!!!! They are all going to die from lung complications!
Lung complications from using yarn?
@@jonahjohnson5821 The adhesive is nasty stuff! Perchloroethylene, you need to protect your sinuses and mouth from that. Use a half face respirator with organic vapor cartridges
Minecraft irl
Yes go bay rug for 4000$ :D hahhaha
These tuffted rugs are junk. Sheds, used from unhealthy glue thats the reason workers who work has to wear masks so that they don't get TB or cancer.
Tuffted a rug is not called handmade . Its realistically machine gunning.
Tuffted rugs are the major downfall of rug industry, people in villages in india are dieing tuffting a rug every week. Everybody is quite not telling the truth. Handknotted rug making art is disappearing because of this tuffted rugs. The real costing to making these rugs is under $1 sq.ft and selling for lot more. Its profitable but its made as a use and throw product and unhealthy.
Is tufting as a hobby in the home okay?
@@jonahjohnson5821 yes
Hey Rug Gallery, can you elaborate on what is a good rug?
Also I thought every line had a lower line that was affordable for the non-wealthy so can you tell me what that would be an elaborate more on the TB and the cancer, I am a new rug maker I do not use this method,I felt!
yeah, these guys aren't paid well by our standards, but bear in mind they might get paid well by *theirs.* for example, for what little chinese workers earn that's still enough for them to start having a middle class.
Handtufted is garbage!
evidently you dont know anything about carpet making. Probably best to stick to topics you know about.
@@Inadisguise handknotted can be replicated with modern machines which is still better than handtufted that requires zero training & tracing paper to roughly copy design with a weaving gun and fibers shed like crazy, has glued canvas backing with weird chemical smell, can pull fibers out with hand easily.... I would personally buy machine knotted anyday over handtufted. check this machine out.. ua-cam.com/video/R3X5iKh5kgQ/v-deo.html
@@billriz4573 handtufted is great quality if they know what they're doing. with machines you still have to trace still have feed yarn the machine just goes a bit faster that's it
where can i buy the tool they use to punch in the yarn? i have a standard punch needle that fits yarn but what they're using looks a lot faster
I’d love to know this too!
Try eBay or Amazon ,they say you can buy anything online these days .good luck !
If you go onto Amazon and look up Tufting machine, you will find an electric one. Even faster. Mx
Hey Barack. It's cool to see you're taking up new hobbies. How's it going?
It's called a Phentex Rig Punching Needle. I got mine on Ebay for like $27 with shipping. They are vintage so you may want to oil it.
