    A-rod to the Sox, I was so sure that it was going through I put a A-Rod baseball card in with my Red Sox card. I came across it a few years ago, brought back some memories

      It’s wild to think that it was a done deal, but it got shot down. One of the more interesting what ifs in sports history imo.

    If Barry Bonds went to the Braves in 1992, I think it is extremely likely that that team wins at least three or four World Series titles.

      Maybe they could've especially with arguably the greatest starting rotation of all time.

      They wouldn’t have gotten Maddux if they’d acquired Bonds.

    • @UTNatlChamps
      @UTNatlChamps 2 роки тому

      @@andrewclough9717 I don’t think they were necessarily mutually exclusive, unless I’m missing a quote from Atlanta’s FO where they said that they would only take one of the other. But regardless, with Bonds, they could have won in 1992, the year before they got Maddux.

    Missed Juan Soto to the Marlins. When JT was being traded from Miami, Nats offered Soto but the Marlins instead wanted Robles. Nats declined to trade Robles…

    Holy crap man Barry Bonds to the 90s Braves would have been absolutely terrifying. There would have been multiple championships for sure

    its funny how many times the Red Sox tried to move Manny. Put him on waivers in 03, almost traded with Jon Lester for ARod, almost traded him outright to the Mets, almost traded Manny in a 4 team deal with the Mets, Devil Rays, Orioles where Manny went to the Mets, Miguel Tejada to the Red Sox and other moving parts, almost traded Manny for Tejada outright, Manny for Michael Young was discussed... and ultimately it was Manny to the Dodgers, Jason Bay to the Red Sox and prospects to the Pirates in 08

      @Lighthouse in the Storm in 1999, Expos owner Jeffrey Loria was obsessed with Jeter and wanted him at any cost, even Vlad. But Yankees GM Brian Cashman wouldn't do it because he was already becoming a face of the franchise.

    Best closer. I think that's an understatement. Mo saved all those games with one pitch. Just by moving his thumb in or out and up or down he could make that cutter disobey the law's of physics. He was undeniably the greatest closer of all time especially when it came to the Postseason. Also it kills me to say that. As a Royal's fan I can't stand the fucking Yankees.

    How was Rivera able to wear #42?

    • @Il_Exile_lI
      @Il_Exile_lI 2 роки тому +7

      MLB retired number 42 in 1997, but they allowed anyone already using the number to continue to use it for the rest of their career. This included Rivera, Mo Vaughn, and a few others. Rivera was the last of these grandfathered players to retire, making him the last player that will ever wear number 42 (aside from the annual Jackie Robinson day).
