A lot of fun to see you playing around with these values. I'll admit, I couldn't watch any faster than 1.0 playback because the education was heavy! Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial.
Haha thanks for checking in man. I'm alive, everything's good. My business client work picked up like crazy and I've just been swamped with projects. Hoping to be back at it in a couple months. I started uploading consistently cause covid killed all my business, but finally it bounced back so it's good to be able to pay the bills. You've been putting out killer stuff though. Loved your Pocket 6k pro breakdown.
Could you make a spell beam VFX toturial like this: ua-cam.com/video/d8Glu8m8rUk/v-deo.html or this: ua-cam.com/video/YMeo6Q-BaJg/v-deo.html. I keep trying but I can't get this to look right.
Two deep dives in a row, may have to do something lighter next week. As always more info and a few questions answered down in the description. Also my apologies for the audio glitch at the end of the video. The music cuts in abruptly in about the last 15 seconds of the video.
I can't understand why you posted this in 1080 on a topic regarding DETAIL. UA-cam compression has already done it's dirty work!! This should be in 4K or better.
I guess I see what you're saying, but I'm more talking about what's actually happening in resolve. The resolution doesn't really help the explanation (the compression maybe). The display capture is in HD, so aside from a bit extra compression I don't see how it would make things way better.
Hello Nathan , hope you are well. i am content creator for fitness stuff. recently i saw a video related to fitness that when for example the guy was exercising shoulder, a photo of body comes up on the screen and shows where this exercise effect on muscle. can you guide me how can i do it with davinchi resolve?
Great question, I am not a certified black magic trainer if that's what you're asking. I've taken a number of black magic courses, but my actual background is in science. That's why I prefer to to do tests and deep dives, because it's not opinion. I'm not a seasoned professional with 20+ years experience, so instead of opinions I try to show my methods and interpret the results to better understand how the tools work.
@@NathanCarterVids thanks i dirld set yours Channel under supervision. Not a subscription now. I am busy most to unsubscribe DaVinci resolve channels for tue Moment. Special those where the most reason is to sell Abonnements and Affilates.
Hey, Nathan! Where can I study Davinci? Can you recommend any source that fully covers it? I love your tutorials, they're awesome, but I want to dive deeper
Hey Nathan! Great videos. I was wondering if you could possibly do a tutorial on how to "insert yourself" into existing movie scenes? I saw a great one by another film maker but it was for Adobe products, not Resolve. I'm trying to start a new project where I act out scenes from movies I love and insert myself over the original actor. If this is something you would be willing to do a tutorial on, that would be amazing. I am relatively a noob to Resolve and have very little experience so far. Thanks for your great videos and I hope to hear back from you.
Yeah, I've contimplated changing the name of the series, cause I don't like the negative impression it gives. It's provocative for sure. My hope is that the actual tutorial leaves people feeling positive and informed. I also love it when people try the tests out themselves and even try different tests that I never thought of. Hope you can forgive the clickbait.
@@NathanCarterVids Haha yeah, no problem! It was partially a joke and partially a little hint to what you apparently already knew yourself. The information you're supplying is great, so no complaining there! Thanks for what you're doing!
Great video keep up the good work! This helped me out a ton. Just like you said I found it played with it and was like what the heck is going on ?? Excellent demo
Nathan, you are going to give me a complex if you keep telling me I am doing everything wrong. lol. I have told you before, I enjoy these dips into the "What and Why" when it comes to tools in Resolve - way too many tutorials out there that are correct, but are more of a memory test - the "Do this, then do that" videos I think are less effective then the deep dive videos like this one. And as noted below the end music, I thought maybe another video had started up on me that was hidden. Thanks again for telling me , I am doing something wrong.
Haha I think I'm gonna retire the name for this series and just switch it to "how ___ actually works". Really glad you like the videos though. Also sorry about the end audio, late night edits lead to goofs more often than not.
Holy f*ck I nearly shat myself when that music cut in..
Congrats you made it through the end of the video :)
I know I'm sorry. Scared the crap out of me late last night, I explain what happened in the description. Thanks for watching the whole thing
that happend with me too but its fine dont be sorry the tutorial was vey helpful

No worries, glad you liked it. Lots more deep dives on the way.
Mate you get more confident in front of the camera aren't you! Feels so personal. Also, great vid!
Thanks man. Love watching your channel grow too. Need to chatch up on your latest stuff.

(for Davinci resolve)
I can look into it, but for now I am trying to stick more to color grading, and maybe in the future I'll dive back into VFX.

I really need to know how to transform footage of black magic 6k to Rec709
Totally love how you dissect things and really dig into features and what's really going on!!!
Glad you like it

Will be watching.
Studio content on the way!
I love your videos, Nathan! Boy, did that music get the jump on me at the end. :)))
Thanks man, and sorry about that. Gotta quit those 2am editing sessions
Dude.. I'm always getting something new from your vids. I like the way you masked the old fella's face to apply midtone.
That's one of those moves you kinda keep quiet and say "no you really just look that youthful". Especially if they're the one paying you haha.
@@NathanCarterVids whatever pleases the onscreen talent. btw, I just got studio key from Adorama so keep the studio content flowing please.
Thanks for info bro.
Always welcome
