Same! I was going to invest in a new camera then saw how crazy expensive they all were. Remembered I had this one and know giving it a go! So far I'm not disappointed, I just didn't know how to use it.

Thank you for the tutorial, I hope it gets more people interested in their camera. A really good point is with digital lots of photos to get your shot is a VERY BIG valid point. I used to shoot 6 to 10 roll of 36 exposure film at airshows and kept, maybe , 5 shots. Expensive and a long time from the shot to see the print. But a couple of points that seem to be missed with any digital camera.....number one film speed....oh yes. Changing film speed on an A series Canon, mark your exposure, rewind the film...etc, on a digital camera, just dial it in. Gives you load more options not just shutter and aperture, you now have a third thing to tweek, just as important as the other two. Just easy up to 1200asa, then you get more "noise" (grain). Also the example shots regarding aperture were taken with a camera with a greater aperture range than the camera you were handling, (why did fuji not have really small apertures?). (my lenses go from f0.8 to f36 on my canon r. (My fuji is an hs30 and this is my carry around camera.) Yes I know you did it for an example, but your viewers will not get the same results, some may do, but not novices. Flash is lacking, external flash is in limited modes (Unlike my hs10.). Remote release is available for finepix via usb port. just to let you know. keep the utube channel, hope you do not consider my comments negative..I have taken some good pictures with my fuji.

Tony you have saved my life. I have an S4000 for years and have captured great footage with it but have always been afraid to experiment with all the camera's functions Am going on holidays shortly and I decided to change because of the lack of WiFi and Bluetooth. I started looking at camera specs and eventually decided that I would only be buying something similar so I have bought a card reader and am going to save for the right camera the market is changing rapidly had considered a Nikon D5600 but this has been discontinued and with the change to mirrorless its a minefield so I will bide my time before making my decision. Thank you for your presentation I could listen to you forever and yes a number of years later you have been an enormous help to this photographer

I recently bought the S9200 and need to learn how to use its features. This tutorial is very helpful. I've purchased a charger and eight AA batteries as standard batteries tend to last about a day. I always keep my lens cap attached to prevent sratches, it's kept in my rucksack, which is usually filled will lots of other metal and plastic objects. A camera strap is essential in my opinion, as the S9200 falls hard and lens first. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I have not used a camera for about ten years. I knew about aperture / shutter techniques but am rather rusty :) I recently obtain one of these model of cameras. The technology / intelligence has improved a lot! It is also a lot to learn about just to use just by reading the manual ( I tried :).
I did a search on youtube for a tutorial about learning to use the camera. Your video looked worth a watch :)
A very big thank you! Well worth a watch! Just enough depth of explanation about the different modes. Excellent explanation of how all the controls interact. It has made the camera a lot more fun to use as I can get it to do what I want rather than what it wants to do :)

Wow, so glad I have found this. I haven't used my camera much in the last two years, and I never went to the hot shoe flash function, as I could not figure it out, and I've got lots of flashes for my manual Minolta SLRs, and -- this may sound silly -- but for photographing my feline friends I really need to finally learn this. I am saving this. Thank you loads. BTW, once a few years back I decided to try the video function -- never thought much about it. Nice, very nice. Was not expecting it to be as good as it is.

Hey thanks for the video! You communicate very well and pass on all the details. I know nothing about photography except taking "pictures" with the iPhone and I'm looking to buy my first real-ish camera to try on. My friend had an old NIKON D70 and I just love the pictures he used to take with it. I was not sure if this one would make pictures as good as the NIKON D70 (or at least better than the iPhone, since the sensor sizes are the same). But after watching your video, I've decided on buying it.

Thank you so much for this extremely helpful and informative video! I was interested in.learning more about photography, and I found this "bridge" camera at a pawn shop for $120! Though it is still a point and shoot, still find the learning curve to be a bit steep. Your video to the rescue! I've solved a lot of mysteries and quite a few issue after watching it. Having purchased your ebook (SDP) I'm really looking forward to learning more. Cheers!

My Camera Came with a lens cap and I do use it simply because I prefer having it protected. So to solve the problem with the cap being lost I hooked it to the camera strap so when I remove the cap it is connected to the strap so it does not get lost. The case I carry simply for extra batteries one set of chargeable, one set of lithium (which I found last the longest) and to put it away for undefined storage times just to prevent dust or damage while traveling.

My Fuji S8200 died during a photoshoot yesterday. Even with new batteries it will not power up. I really enjoyed this camera, I especially enjoyed using the panoramic mode that produces fantastic pictures. Great camera, the only con is the short life of the batteries. I have had this camera for about eight years, and during that time I probably shot about 2 to 3 thousand photos.

I have the SL1000 and it has a flash hotshoe above and behind the pop up flash. This allows me to connect a seperate flash unit directly on top of the camera or on an off axis mount connected by an adator.
It also has a choice of file formats, jpeg, raw and jpeg + raw which is really useful.
I take this camera everywhere I go as a back up to my Pentax K5 dslr and really enjoy using it

I am glad you made this tutorial. What ever I watch, what ever I read, it is always about Nikon or Canon. Us humble Fuji owners are not worth mentioning, so I think. It was like that my teens, late 60's early 70's - if you didn't own a box that said Rollei, Leica or Hasselblad on it, you were a nobody... It is all just about making money and having a big name. Is a £31.000 DJI Hasselblad H6D-100C really so much better than my £399 Finepix S9600?
