The most beautiful sound track I have ever heard. It grabs my soul in ways no other music has ever done for me. It lifts you higher and higher emotionally.
Another soundtrack you might like is East Of Eden by Lee Holdridge. It’s also called American Anthem. It’s from the 1981 mini series and really beautiful.
Among the (American) TV series that reached the UK in the early 80s, this has to have the best and most moving opening and closing signature theme of all. An ensemble cast, and wide storyline. Just sweeps you away. 🎼👏🏾🌟❤👌🏾
Just a beautiful theme! I just watched this whole series again and that theme is so haunting, that I'd wake up with that theme in my head. The series is so good and should be required viewing for all high school seniors. The second half of the series is also amazing with actual war footage and pictures of concentration camps and the treatment of the prisoners, that just brings tears to the eyes of what the Jewish people went through and still is so revelent today with what is going on! Especially with all the protest people that are going on that want Israel wiped off the map even through they were the ones attacked! God Bless and protect Israel and the Israeli people!
The sequel, War and Remembrance should be on the required list as well. Especially the younger folks that have no awareness of the gravity then is facing them now.
Herman Wouk, who wrote the novel that inspired this series, dies just a few day ago shy of 104 years old! He also wrote the famous war novel, THE CAINE MUTINY, that soon afterward became a terrific movie starring Humphrey Bogart. Nice sounding midi! Good job! It brings back memories because I watched the complete series when originally aired on television. Jan Michel Vincent (of AIRWOLF fame) starred in it. Also Robert Mitchum & John Houseman. Having seen it nor heard the music since...until I just listened to your midi.
There are only a few left that were in the complete series, but you are right, most are gone. We have no actors or very few that are of the caliber of those actors then.
I saw this some years ago and the storyline that made me so angry and sad was the one of the Jewish family who wanted to leave Germany because they realized what was going on but their mother didn't want to leave. And even though the husband and kids begged and pleaded with the stupid old woman to go, she refused. So what happened to the entire family was that the gestapo rounded them up along with the other Jews and they were taken to a camp where they all perished. 🙎🤦🙄

In time when there were great series and great tv tunes!
one of the most beautifully composed Soundtrack to a movie I've ever heard
Its by Bob Colbert, the man who did the soundtrack to the original daytime television classic "Dark Shadows".
@@torryjobe6244 The movie was also directed by Dan Curtis who did Dark Shadows
It is the best television score in the history of American television.

I watched it in high school when it originally aired, and I agree with you.

Indeed, a very beautiful soundtrack. A classic TV series about WWII.
Great series beyond comprehension; sad story. One of Herman Wouk's best pieces.
One of Dan Curtis' finest moments! Cobert's music, simply incredible!
Beautiful music
My late Wifes favorite tv series , when I listen, impossible not to turn off the waterworks
I find that I hear this song playing in the back of my mind when I read / watch / listen to the news as of late.
Very haunting, it has an effect not normally heard; to me it makes me humble and grateful.
Thank you, Thomas.
Kind of wistful.. like Patton said, we should have rearmed the German Army and Marched East...

Is the Winds of War soundtrack available on cd ?
No, as far as I know.
You can try downloading it from right here.
Anyone else think this sounds like part of Por Una Cabeza slowed down?
