Thank you so much that really is great to hear! I'm glad you both enjoyed it! I'll be making something a little shorter next time! If there is anything you would like to see built me know 👍
Really like working with copper, nice job on this one. I used MIG wire inside the pipework, use the blowtorch on the pre-soldered fittings(Like the ones you have) to bind it altogether then pull the elec cable through taped to the mig wire 😉👍 Well filmed and edited 🏆
I was originally planning to solder them and even bought ore soldered joints. I changed my mind at literally the eleventh hour because I went with the lazy way of fishing the cables. I think soldering might be better Next time. My main problem was the connection with the base I chose the wrong joint completely!
Great build, loved the copper work and the inclusion of the earth continuity test in the video. Its been many years since I made concrete casts, using a gravel mix for the initial cast. This comes out very rough, but a mix of cement and cement dye rendered over it makes it smooth and look like granite. Theres probably other techniques and a host of UA-cam vids, but I've not seen any.
Thank you I was thinking of placing some sort of render on it but didn't think to use concrete. Time ran away from me ! Next time I'll definetley improve my knowledge of casting! Thank you very much for watching 👍
Love the lamp man, did something similar once. The concrete wasn't smooth because of air trapped at the bottom i think. Just agitate the sides of the bucket with your palm sander while its loose. Small project like this, hand sanding is good. If you ever do a larger project, make something that will hold the pipes to a drill. I've used a snug fitting pvc cap that had a metal bolt thread into the center of it. Then you just use a cloth with brasso, sandpaper, or ive used just hot sauce (texas pete). Sounds a bit odd, but it does work.
Thank you! I did try tapping some of the locked air out but using my sander would have been a good idea! I've also heard rendering over the rough concrete can give a good finish. Love the hot sauce idea 😂 I suppose there is a very small grit inside it! Definetley be giving that a go in the future 👌 Thank you for the advice!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it! I've got a subscriber special coming out soon should be pretty cool. Thank you for your support and welcome to the channel 👍
Great project, thank you for sharing. You should have started polishing the copper with a higher grit, you would save yourself a lot of time not having to remove the scratches from the 80, 120 grits. Start at 320 grit, if it’s not doing the job go down to 240 grit then up from there. Spray copper pipe with a clear then it will hold the sheen. Again great project.
Thank you very much! I will try that in the future. There were a few surface dents I had to polish out; but higher grit as a starting point will save ALOT of time. I'll give using a clear coat a test. Thank you for watching 👍
The lamps I use are LEDs so the heat produced is minimal. We can't buy anything other than low energy (low heat) or LED lamps in the UK these days due to law changes. Thank you for watching 👍
Great video and entertaining loved watching it with my 5 year old, kept his attention for the whole 20 mins!

Considering that you've used MDF lampshades, have you taken into consideration the heat generated from the lamps?
The lamps I use are LEDs so the heat produced is minimal.
