Turn scrap metal into a steampunk lamp with vintage bulb | DIY Project

- In this video, I explore the world of steampunk-inspired artistry and practice the art of repurposing workshop scraps into a timeless and functional lamp, complete with copper and faux oxidized verdigris effect.
The focal point of this project is a vintage light bulb, radiating nostalgic charm and warmth on one end of my hardwood plank bar.
Designed to infuse my clubhouse with an ambient glow, this lamp adds a touch of enchantment to the dark atmosphere. By combining welding, painting, and a resin pour over a hardwood railway sleeper base, we'll explore the artistic techniques involved in bringing this one-of-a-kind creation to life.

When the cocktail matches the lamp aesthetic... 😄
Form AND function
Great job!
Hey mate, got your details from the discord server. I made a lamp with a similar goal to this a few years back, but it was nowhere near as cool as this! It turned out awesome!
Cheers mate!
awesome bloke.
Like from Brazil.
Nicely done, my only critique would be to use flat, slotted screws rather than Phillips to complete the Victorian look. Again, good job and thank you for posting the video.
Nice idea! I have some brass one's too, didn't think of it.
I’ve been wanting to get into this hobby of making steampunk lamps for years now. I have the skills, time, and money but just don’t know where to start.
Need to start with a decent collection of junk!
Another great build mate, looks fantastic!
Love the look of the old sleeper to!
Thanks Drew, yeah decided I may as well use the old sleeper, after lugging it around for years :D
@@rowanferguson always the way mate!
Good work. You could try to put sand in pipe before banding it , I am curious is it working to preserve pipe from flattening.
Purely decorative!
Not really scrap..! Anyway, you did a nice one👏👏👏
Buddy there's way more inherent risk in chemically stripping the zinc. Take it out back, leave it the ol' burn barrel, throw it in the sink with soap and water. Personally I just weld the shit and keep the fumes out of my hood. Zinc is pretty low on the totem pole.
