I skated these during the pandemic and it felt and looked like I was wearing socks to skate in... But you know what? They skate really well and they last longer than they have any right to with some strategic shoe gooing. Hate the look, love the feel.
I have 11 different color ways of this shoe. I skate both the reinforced and the original g6 slip ons. I love them so much I have many pairs I don’t skate in.
@@matt123411 i thought about it. But I pussed out. I feel bad too cuz I’m still like a big Steve o fan. And they went down to like $20 too. We’re about the same age I grew up in that era of jackass and skateboarding in San Francisco CA. Lol. Also I just got the Braden Hobert G6 slip cup slip ons. The black and green ones to skate in. They bad ass. I love the G6. And keep supporting EMERICA. The greatest skate show company ever. Real skaters real owners and great shoes.
I have the Emerica Dickson. They will probably last a long time. There's so much rubber, they are double wrapped in foxing tape. Plus a duracap type reinforcement on the heel and toecap under the suede. So the shoes actually feel really heavy at first. I don't like the G6 insole so I swapped it out with a Nike insole.
I didn’t mind the G6s but the double wrapped foxing i think is what was bothering me about these shoes. Just a ton of rubber so not the best flick but I bet they’ll be super durable
I've been skating these shoes for I don't know how long. I'd say fresh pair of these don't go well with fresh MOB grips. When I decided to switch to Shake Junt, I got a new pair of these at the same time. Man, I didn't have the same problem I had with MOB. My first few kickflips were so smooth as if the shoes and grips weren't brand new. They go so well with Shake Junt imo. And they last longer.
Haven’t tried that exact model but I currently ride the Emerica Bronson G6 Slip On collabs. Very, very comfortable shoe. Not so sturdy though, the rubber lining on top of the shoe has come a bit loose on one of the feet.
@@localjoe your model is a lot more padded though. Mine didn’t have the ’tank battering ram armour’ front nor the ollie protecting. They even sound bulky when you take your first steps in them. I watched this at work so didn’t really notice how big the difference was between your shoes and mine. I really want a pair of all black Vans Slip Ons having tried my Emericas.
Having tried both the vans slip on pro and emerica slip ons (Bronson colab too) the emerica slip ons flick nicer and more tech but the vans last significantly longer especially at the soles. Emerica’ heel anchor is amazing though and does make you miss it after switching back to vans. If you haven’t already try some of the Kyle walker pro 2s or the exp pro vans because they’re a cup sole slip on and feels better for landing sketch or bailing and primos. Both are solid though and would recommend either to people all the time.
@@localjoe right on my brother! Been skating for 19 years myself! Born in Texas, raised in California! Just moved to Utah in 2017! Love your channel man!
Old ass video, tried em for the first time last week…good to know it wasn’t just me when it came to the flick. They feel good but the kickflip felt offf
I cringed when you said vans and corporate. For a company that started in a small shop in Anaheim back in the day and gave so much to skateboarding than any other shoe company, I must say that have become corporate. Collaboration after collaboration. I still love vans and they're still my go to shoe. But I also don't think I ever had a pair of emericas that I didn't love. Crazy that Reynolds is on vans now.
We probably disagree on this but personally i've been very disappointed in Vans products they are never as comfortable or as durable as I'd like and that bothers me because I feel like they ride their legacy rather than actually making good shoes for skaters. It seems like they are more worried about their status in the industry than they are about the end consumer. Although I dislike almost all of their shoes I love the Kwalk pro 2's maybe the best shoes I've skated.
Vans quality has definitely gone downhill over the years. Vans is definitely a huge corporate brand. Which is whyyou can buy them just about anywhere these days.
It's not the stiffness of the shoe it's how grippy the toe cap is. If you ever skate them you'll feel it they made the toe cap insanely grippy just takes getting used to but there are tons of shoes that are good out the box so no need for me to buy these again.
I dislike the new insoles in all the emerica shoes and almost all skate shoes now. They suck, way too thick and rubbery and don't give you any board feel. They should go back to the old ones they used to make.

Man, in my opinion I prefer a longer toecap lifespan. I feel they break in slowly even if I can’t entirely feel my board... and yeah im an Emerica fan
There are different versions of this slip with a normal toe cap i think I would've enjoyed that better.
Emerica is one of the best skate shoe brands and more people have to root for the real skate shoes, hail Emerica and fuck the corporate bullshit.
When you post it gives a serotonin boost to my day. Thanks big dawg✊🏻
Haha hell yeah! Been on a tear with posting this week hopefully I can keep up the consistency!
Can't wait to see were your UA-cam channel goes. I'm sure you'll do well with all this great skate content.
Thanks Kevin! I hope so too! Nothing I’d love more than to go full times with UA-cam!

Dangggg ur videos r getting even crispier🔥🔥🔥
Haha thanks man I put a little more effort into overlapping the audio between clips so there’s less down time so hopefully that helps
U gonna be a top skate UA-camr frrrr🔥🔥
Broo haha idk I just want to quit my job and have some money to invest in real estate...
I would recommend getting a pair of the older version that doesn't have that weird extra rubber on the toe. I've skated them and the flick is godly.
I bet I'd like them a lot more.

Yep
True to size???
emerica wino g6 vs vans skate classic slip on ? in terms of comfy
Wino without a doubt
Are they true to size ? Or do you need to size down

Dude you break those in before you skate them. That's why you can't feel shit. I usually wear my shoes for a week or so before I skate them.

I hate how a lot of modern skate shoes are knock off vans. Bring back the old Templeton 2
It's true but vans has a good shape just everything else is wrong so it's hard to not think I bet I can replicate that but make it better...
