What a funny little trio of police. He came out all full of his own bravado, she seemed more concerned with showing off her tattoo's and the pretty one had the good sense to keep her mouth shut the whole time. What sort of police force circulates a memo not to engage people with cameras, yet they continually say they don't know about it. Can't even get the basics right about the fact they are filming and advise as such! Loved the walk of shame!

With regards to their bodycams being on, maybe instead of asking them why they didn't inform you they were on, when they're about to walk away, ask them which senior officer authorised the 'covert' surveillance of you and then tell them you're making a subject access request for that authorisation. Then stand back and enjoy their squirming.

Or perhaps anyone in this position should demand their shift sergeant's name and number and then suggest that he clearly instructed this covert surveillance to take place and you will follow up with an official complaint of the sergeant to the duty Chief Inspector. Really your imagination should know no limit when you encounter Plod who are more scared of pissing off their sergeant than they are of unlawfully arresting someone.

When accosted by two or more you should first require them to identify whomsoever is the most senior and confine your response ONLY to that one. Otherwise - as here - they will always try to bounce you around one to the other as a means of bullying control. Do not allow it.
If they are all of equal rank, the 'most senior' is the one whom you've been employing the longest. The others are then your silent witnesses to the behaviour of the senior one, whom you've pinned down on camera and microphone as now responsible for whatever goes on.

There's ways of doing it. Ways of doing it in a professional, impartial way. As per the oath that they took. Sadly, far too often, the interaction is carried out in a highly biased way. One biased towards the safety and wellbeing of the police and biased against the rights of the drone flyer to a private life, as well as the assumption of innocence until objective evidence of guilt has been revealed.
