He is remembered for being a talented guy who squandered a potentially glorious career by partying it all a way. Had he had a work ethic like Villapota or Dungey, he could have been in the record books for being one of the best instead of an exampole of what not to do.
Anyone can say anything about this dude but getting to meet him as a kid and message him over the past few years he’s one of the coolest dudes our sport has ever seen. Love seeing him back and as always #338 forever!

@@motoxray not exactly a fuck up, he just didn't change who he was to fit what the AMA or teams wanted, one thing the video didn't talk about is how when yamaha of troy dissolved, Jason put the money in to start a new team with most of the same sponsors, there is an interview where he said that if he won everything would be good, but if he failed pretty much all of his financial stability was gone. He still won a supercross title though, hell of a lot more than most people will do regardless of how seriously they take it

Idk why I felt like he has a better career than he did when he was racing. Definitely could have been very good if he had been willing to give up the partying and put in the work but being the same age as him, I know all too well all of the crazy shit people of our time were getting into. Still one of my favorite riders just bc of his idgaf attitude and love seeing him back out there again and actually having some fun and putting in the work.

It's crazy because I don't really remember him racing on Suzuki (probably because he didn't do thay good) so really I only remember 3.5 years of him racing. It would've been cool to see him in there with the Dungey Era. Crazy to think Jlaw was done in 2010 and Dungey was still racing professionally into the 2020s.

The confiscation of the other bikes was super illegal. I hope that agent got his stuff back. But tbh everyone’s always a big fan of this guy but why? He was average at best.
I think people are fans because we were hoping he would start taking his career more seriously. You don’t win a 250 SX title being average. Who knows what he would have accomplished if he had focused and put in the work Villopoto and Dungey did. Another reason is He just loves to ride.
@@Dimebonics04I can name a dozen 250sx title winners that didn’t do much on 450s. Tickle, Bogle, Wilson Etc. all great/good riders but not elite never took a set up and all 250 champs it happens. J Law was a huge waste of a million opportunities thrown his way.
If Villapoto had gotten punished like J did for ramming someone, we’d be Villapoto fans right now and JLaw would be on a box of Wheaties. Not the other way around.

When you watch the actual racing, it's rare you'll hear him mentioned, except if they're already talking to Villopoto and someone brings up his run-ins or Alessi's with Villo. This vid did show me how short his run at racing success was, though.
So everybody talking about Jason’s antics got Jason in trouble for his antics. And what happened to the adult who gave underage children alcohol at a pit bike race? Did that person lose his job? It sounds like Jason had a lot of help at ruining his career.
Tragic waste of talent. I don't know that I would have done any better at his age. Fame and fortune has brought down many of great men. I hope he finds his way. Seems like a really cool dude.
@davewylie654 look it up, him and Josh Hill both paid it. Recently someone asked Josh about having to pay that much money in a fine at that age and he said something like "I didn't even blink, money wasn't that much of an issues at the time"
