Levi’s ribcage bootcut are the love of my life. We are engaged and once quarantine is over we will have the biggest wedding so everyone can see how great we are together
retail/jean seller here - typically you want to size up in dark or black wash jeans. the dyes and fabric changes the fit ever so slightly so they will typically fit smaller.
I know they have both a 27 and 29 inch inseam in all the colors on the levi website. I'm short so the 27 is perfect for me, but I know tall people exist, and they need/deserve cute pants too so it would totally be great for them to go even longer! Until then......I just wanna let people know the 29 inch inseam is an option. (27 inch is the default if bought anywhere besides the levi website)
I have a pair and I love the fit but yes a full length would be amazing! Like a 32 or 34inch leg would make me so happy, the 29 inch just isn’t enough 😭

The Ribcage also come in a wide leg that’s super flattering as well (they don’t have them all the time but they show up on the Levi’s site fairly often)
Agolde 90's pinch waist are my current favorite jeans. I had to take 2 sizes down from my regular size but as a tall gal they are a perfect length for me (so stoked not to have cold ankles in Canadian winters)
My most amazing jeans are my vintage Levi’s 550, The fit is casual and can be dressed up. I have collected so many washes over the years, and even thrifted a corduroy pair for $7!

I feel the same about the ribcage! I love the top portion but hate the leg. I’m 5’3, they hit 1” above the ankle but not in a good way because of the straight leg, it looks like high waters 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I've tried Levi's 501, I've tried levi's vintage 550, and zara mom fit jeans. I like a looser, mom-fit jean, and the zara mom fit jeans are sooo similar to the levi's vintage 550, but with a more tapered leg. i love them i want to buy them in all colors. its great because they are affordable and 100% cotton ❤️❤️
The BDG Premium line is a really great affordable option! Very similar to Levi’s quality and texture, but the shapes are a little different for those who find Levi’s dont fit them quite right - also slightly longer. The tooth pick and straight leg are 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Honestly madewell in their real denim ,without the stretch, styles is probably still my favorite. I love how high waisted they are and I can get tall so long enough for my 5'11" self.
I loveee all my Levi’s ribcage straight. I recently ordered the darker shade you mentioned off revolve and I’m obsessed! I got my normal size and they’re definitely tight but there’s some room after a few wears. Another brand I love is Afends (found on princess polly au) EDIT: I can’t believe I forgot MadeWell! I have 4 pairs and love them all. Definitely size down.

Being larger than a 32 makes shopping for denim a huge pain, especially rigid denim so I typically am wearing stretch denim from American Eagle or vintage Levi’s/ vintage mom jeans in general because the styles I love from other places cap at a size 10/12.
LOVED the variety in this video! But i think it would make sense to compare similar jeans across the price spectrum. Like I have baggier levi's and thrifted wranglers that look almost exactly like the more expensive options showcased in this video...but that might be just because the more expensive options all had baggier styles...idk! Love the vid, just don't know how much value there is in comparing different kinds of jeans in different price points
I own 4 different pairs of SLVRLAKE and I can confidently say that they are the best fitting jeans (I collect denim and SLVRLAKE is by far the most flattering). Also check out TRAVE Denim, they have a rigid vintage feel. Absolutely fantastic as well.
Allegra! Check out Still Here New York jeans. I’m a 23 too and they fit so, so well. Pricey but worth it. They have a couple funky ones that are fun. I got the cowboy ones! 🤠

Great suggestions! My favorite jeans are by Moussy Vintage because they are so unique in their washes and distressing. Also they are especially good for petites like me. (But I also have room in my heart for Re/Done and Levi’s)
Thanks for including your measurements and your typical sizing, how they fit on you in each size, etc. I'm also about 5'6" but my waist is 3 inches bigger and my hips 1 inch bigger, so that helps me a lot when comparing how they fit on you vs how they could look on me!
I'm the only one who thinks this but: I have 2 pairs of levis ribcage that I have a love/hate relationship with... I think they're too high waisted. As a student they can be uncomfortable when they are non-stretch and you have to sit down a lot. Sometimes I also think that my butt looks too "long" because of the high waist. I would love to have the wedgie fit jeans in a 32 length instead tbh

5’9 with the same inseam here! The first Zara jeans she mentioned are long enough for me. I’ve also found that ASOS Design has a lot of inseams (30 - 38” options usually) at good prices. Levi’s is starting to make different lengths (I just bought a rib cage bootcut in 33” inseam, look on their website instead of third party sellers!) and Abercrombie makes great long lengths
Wait same - all of my fave jeans that are long enough came from the men’s section of the thrift store. I think Everlane started making a tall option recently too and they’re so comfy and reasonably priced. I also undo the hem on a lot of my jeans which adds about an inch in length.
Definitely levi's (ribcage) first, but yes agreed about the leg part upper part is fantastic, leg, kinda eh, second is Zara. But like you said, sizing is a MESS even with the same style different color I find you can feel not so great about yourself. One fits fine and than the same jeans different color doesn't go over the bum. That's so great 🥲
Another very good brand are the Won Hundred Jeans! Love the fit and quality and just how simple they are - they also really consider working conditions and responsible fabrics :)

Nothing fits me as well as Madewell. They are the perfect combination of stiff, with the slightest stretch and I love the magic pockets. My splurge brand is Citizen of Humanity.

I like the look of Zara jeans,but there’s a bunch of issues with how heavy they are and how they fit.I always find,that they fit weird in the crotch area, plus the sizing makes me feel horrible.They must have changed the sizing,because a now 38 was a 36 a few years ago and now I need a 40 because I like a little more space to be able to sit or eat.😊
I love the Emily by Only. Perfect mom jeans. They are more curvy so the have enough room for the booty but are still tight in the waist. I wear my normal size (26) and some even come in different lengths :D. And they’re super affordable :)

I used to have the same problem! I like wearing mine with some Adidas Sleek (or any shoes in that style), converse all-star's look great (high tops or low), I also think they look great with some military style boots or even heel boots. Since I've started wearing wide leg/straight leg jeans I haven't touched skinny jeans cause they no longer feel as comfy 😅

Have you tried any of the jeans from Reformation? I’ve always been curious about them because they aren’t too expensive. For some reason I’ve seen so many people getting jeans from Abercrombie randomly enough. I guess they’ve recently stepped up their denim game I see a lot of girls online raving about a few certain pairs. Also I’m surprised you didn’t put Aritzia on the affordable list! Love these kind of videos though!
reformation jeans are not worth it imo, i’ve had a couple pairs and the quality isn’t that great for what you’re paying and they didn’t last. i work at abercrombie and the jeans are very good for the price point.

Levi’s Ribcage jeans come in two lengths! I’m 5’7” and get the longer length and it comes down past my ankle.
