Excellent work. Love the camo and weathering. very well done. I didn't know that Wilder made pigments. I agree with your chipping method as it does give some depth to the scratches on the vehicle.

I just finished the panther ausf d by Tamiya and this vid was very helpful on the camo job I did, it was based off of the late war battle of Kursk camo.
She's beautiful, Adam. Excellent job with the video too. I appreciate the zoom-ins - no one does it better. By the way, I prefer a less weathered look so don't let other modelers get in your head. Also your technique of air brushing with small, thin strokes is a brilliant insight. I think it recreated an extremely realistic pattern.
Great job Adam! I agree with your "not too much weathering" on a late war tank. I recently did a Jagdtiger and barely did anything other than a wash. Those things were not around long enough to get chipped paint or rust. It is hard to leave them looking like new but for a vehicle that saw action for a month or two at most that's probably they way they looked. Your videos are great.

Hey Adam panther came up fantastic, theres no right or wrong way of painting/weathering. Everyone has different perspective of what it should look like, colour tones drives you crazy if u think about too much. some things u talked about when u were making the kit sounded familiar to me. Great thing about model making is that once you finish a model that ur reasonably happy with u can grap another one and go through the whole thing again - steep learning curve but still fun. Cheers
Ever video I watch brings a little more respect from me as to your talents. it's a toss up as to who is better you, or "Panzermeister 36". I think however that you are a bit more of a rivet counter ( which is not a bad thing in my opinion) while he always seems to be genuinely surprised when his models turn out fantastic. Thanks man, I actually agree very much with your points on Evan and myself. I tend to get caught up on the technical aspects of vehicles and he is very go with the flow. I envy his outlook in a lot of ways. We build models while talking on Skype quite a bit so he tries to help me be less stuck on things, and I explain tool clamps and track types to him. You're too kind though.
Hi, the wire cutter handles were made from Bakelite (wood chips compressed in resin, a primative plastic) not the "Presstof" laminated compressed fiber/paper/resin. Germans wore hobnailed boots so the paint would be scratched down to bare metal in many points the crew used to mount the Panzer. But the Auf G likely didn't get as many boarding/dismounting cycles before it was issued then destroyed, as you mentioned.
Thanks man.You are absolutely correct about the pin marks. The original plan was to cover them up with spare tracks and I decided to just finish the video without them. I'll have to add something there to cover it up.
little hint for wooden handles rub 320 Grit over handle in a length motion , leaves tiny sunked lines like wood grain then paint and the wash will sit in the lows just nice ..
Cracking build right there, just goes to show that the age of kit isn't necessary to make something beautiful. Love the editing style too, might have employ (poach) some techniques for my channel.
Really good job on this panther I really like the camouflage and don’t worry about the dust under the clearcoat it happens to me all the time..... I saw you used Tamiya Flat Black as a primer I use NATO black but it seems that after I primed the model with the acrylics I let it dry a couple of days and I go over it with Tamiya Xf-60 It gets like a gritty feel does this happen to you also when outing Tamiya acrylic on top of Tamiya acrylic
I just re-read your comment. I used to get a lot of orange peel, had to do with a few things. Too high of pressure, not thinning paint enough and being too far away from the model.

Yeah I rolled my eyes too. I used to build models when I was a pre teen and that glue is nasty. Infact you tube is a wash with people using it I do not know why. regular old superglue is a far superior than this. Started modelling again now in my 30's and I just throw them in the bin if there included in a set .
I'm all about Tamiya Extra Thin, and if need be The other Tamiya glues. Hamilkar is awesome, so I promised him I'd give it a fair shake. We don't even have Contacta in the US, we have Testors.
Been away from the modelling for awhile and what'ya know Adam builds a nice Pather G! Very nice weathering....a small idea if I may, try weathering powers for the model instead of dot filters, I use a fan brush and use circular motions, to me it's more realistic since they got dirty this way anyhow...but of course just a suggestion. I was experimenting with life colours German tri camo colours i got handed to me from my hobby shop for free because never had any others in stock it was nice surprise! I don't have the German uniform colours yet but mixed abit of olivgrun with a dad of schokoladen rotbraun and it made the nicest green grey I have ever mixed that is spot on for field grey! I have done one figures jacket and its unbelievably convincing and mixed a russian blue out the patriotic war air paints and abit of rotbraun and it's the nicest panzer grey they call it in Tamiya vallejo I know German grey as schwartzgrau but done this for the tank crew mechanics shirts for my bergepanther loving experimenting with these 6 shades of dunkelgelb and a scohkoladen rotbraun! The lighter dunkelgelb shades of yellow the the Gelbbraun and sandgrau are great shades for there blonde hair and eye brows haha! It's my first time I have actually sat down and really tried and been serious on figures I normally don't do them because think I can't! But yes I can I kept telling myself I couldn't and getting worked up when thought about it but absolutely loving doing them just now!away to start the mini art panzer 3 B/D with panzer 4 cupola a d hull with panzer 3 turret and the lovely wooden crates on the back! The tracks are perfect there hollow whare guide horns are and thin guide horns got the stug series 0 coming in tomorrow with the new airfix 1.35 Heter early version! There Academy's product's just a rebox for airfix I had a look in the box on Saturday there really nice! You know it's no airfix kit haha!
If you were to spray thinned buffed from 12" away before the weathering; it'll tone down the overall "loudness" of the camo! Still another great video.

As always this was a phenomenal video. I am preparing to do a tri color on my king tiger and will use your tips as a guideline. I have recently branched out from modeling and have started to collect German relics from WW2. I was hoping somewhere down the line you may devote a video to the topic. I am finding that soldiers personal items are easy enough to find but panzer relics are proving to be more elusive. Maybe you could share some of your sources?
That's great to hear! My biggest handicap is funds. I saw a few tread links that were $500+ and right now that isn't something I can justify spending. I was thinking maybe starting small, any bits or pieces from a tank. I am not picky, even something small would hold sentimental value for me because I know where it came from. I am not really sure where to look because most sellers have high price stuff. Maybe you have some ideas?
I started with some bits from Russia that I honestly still don't know what are. They were $10 and had primer and yellow on them. It just spiraled out of control from there. A track link is going to be expensive if you want a big cat, Panther and Tiger links are usually no less than around what you said there. A Panzer III/IV track can be had (depending on the type) for around $100, but then you have to get it to where you live. That's been the adjustment for me from models. Shipping heavy metal objects from Europe is pricey. But American sellers are collectors and will charge you way more. Usually the combination of cost & shipping from European sellers is still less expensive than a US collector. Assuming you're from the US. There are militaria groups on facebook I'm in, but I have only bought one piece that way. It's risky as there is no protection from ebay. I get most of my stuff on ebay, and it takes a lot of searching to find something worth buying. I do the same thing I did with models with tank parts. I have a number of searches I do (or have bookmarks for) that I check every day. Most days I find nothing. It's almost like digging for them myself. There are also dedicated WWII militaria sites that sell these things. I have had good dealings with a Latvian guy named Jevgenijs, that runs the site www.relicsww2.com. I've only bought a few pieces from him, but he's a solid guy. A little pricey, but I would describe Jevgenijs as a more accessible and respectable digger. You do have to understand that if you start dealing with the sellers from Russia, Latvia, and Estonia, no two are the same. Some work with Legenda, which sends information and dog tags to the respective country, and others, well...others you just don't know. I have to state that I only buy vehicle parts, I"m usually against buying things like personal items and identification tags. Have a look around the Panzer tab on Jevgenijs site, you'll get a feel for what things cost. he's on the higher side of diggers as far as prices go, but he's very reliable.
Thanks for that link, he's got a ton of stuff even if it is a little pricey. I think I am going to grab that panzershreck shield he has up for sale. I agree with you on the matter of personal items such as dog tags, I feel like that's a bit too morbid. I've seen some relic helmets with obvious combat damage too. It looks like this will be another rabbit hole to explore, thanks again.

Thanks very much. I've recently got some NATO black. I'll be giving it a try soon. I think I'll be doing less clear coats in general.

As always this was a phenomenal video. I am preparing to do a tri color on my king tiger and will use your tips as a guideline. I have recently branched out from modeling and have started to collect German relics from WW2. I was hoping somewhere down the line you may devote a video to the topic. I am finding that soldiers personal items are easy enough to find but panzer relics are proving to be more elusive. Maybe you could share some of your sources?

That's great to hear! My biggest handicap is funds. I saw a few tread links that were $500+ and right now that isn't something I can justify spending. I was thinking maybe starting small, any bits or pieces from a tank. I am not picky, even something small would hold sentimental value for me because I know where it came from. I am not really sure where to look because most sellers have high price stuff. Maybe you have some ideas?
I started with some bits from Russia that I honestly still don't know what are. They were $10 and had primer and yellow on them. It just spiraled out of control from there. A track link is going to be expensive if you want a big cat, Panther and Tiger links are usually no less than around what you said there. A Panzer III/IV track can be had (depending on the type) for around $100, but then you have to get it to where you live. That's been the adjustment for me from models. Shipping heavy metal objects from Europe is pricey. But American sellers are collectors and will charge you way more. Usually the combination of cost & shipping from European sellers is still less expensive than a US collector. Assuming you're from the US.
There are militaria groups on facebook I'm in, but I have only bought one piece that way. It's risky as there is no protection from ebay. I get most of my stuff on ebay, and it takes a lot of searching to find something worth buying. I do the same thing I did with models with tank parts. I have a number of searches I do (or have bookmarks for) that I check every day. Most days I find nothing. It's almost like digging for them myself. There are also dedicated WWII militaria sites that sell these things. I have had good dealings with a Latvian guy named Jevgenijs, that runs the site www.relicsww2.com. I've only bought a few pieces from him, but he's a solid guy. A little pricey, but I would describe Jevgenijs as a more accessible and respectable digger. You do have to understand that if you start dealing with the sellers from Russia, Latvia, and Estonia, no two are the same. Some work with Legenda, which sends information and dog tags to the respective country, and others, well...others you just don't know. I have to state that I only buy vehicle parts, I"m usually against buying things like personal items and identification tags.
Have a look around the Panzer tab on Jevgenijs site, you'll get a feel for what things cost. he's on the higher side of diggers as far as prices go, but he's very reliable.
Thanks for that link, he's got a ton of stuff even if it is a little pricey. I think I am going to grab that panzershreck shield he has up for sale. I agree with you on the matter of personal items such as dog tags, I feel like that's a bit too morbid. I've seen some relic helmets with obvious combat damage too. It looks like this will be another rabbit hole to explore, thanks again.
