Thank you again Jake! Lovely video as always. Don't feel pressured to make more series, do whatever you feel like. I found many things in Skyrim that are already done with D&D, and it's an interesting comparisson to understand both of their RPG mechanics. Thanks again mate. Have a good one!
Cheers dude, the plan is to just make whatever I want so that I don't get tired of this whole video thing since motivation is hard to find when it's a solo operation
Great video! I think it’s great that your moving towards creating content that you really enjoy making more random videos kind of XP to level 3 instead of module guides as that genre is a lot stagnant and filled with creators.
Yeah I've done a year's worth of module videos, I'll revisit them from time to time but there's plenty of stuff out there already. But hey, I haven't seen anyone make a video like this and the reception's been good so I'll keep up this type of video
10:40 The problem I always have is that a few weeks isn't enough time to make anything other than maybe a few potions and scrolls. People need big chunks of time off, like months or years at a time to make the good stuff, even non-magical stuff. A suit of regular Plate armor takes 300 days to make. THAT is why "Enchanting isn't a thing players can do"... Players aren't given enough time to make what they actually want. It could be a thing, but most DM's don't or can't allow it to be a thing. They would need to give little bits of downtime during the story arc, but massive chucks of downtime between arcs. A campaign going from level 1 to 20 would need to take years or decades in-game, instead it seems like most campaigns are less than a year of in-game time.
I think that the solution to that is to simply give that time to the players. It might seem disorienting to be like 'okay we're going to skip 2 years ahead in the space of a couple of hours', but in the long run it lets players fill in the blanks of what happened in that time and give their characters more time to have developed. Plus, it's always cool to see your character get older and grow
A problem you always have? It's your game, your table. This is a fantasy game loaded with magic, you're telling me it's not believable this stuff can be expedited? Time is money, the more gold spent, the faster it's completed. Give the party a quest to find a legendary dwarves enchanted crafting tools for their favorite blacksmith. Create potions of crafting or some variant. Make random prefix/suffix tables for magical enhancements on crafted gear done by a skilled PC or NPC using any of the above. Random ideas, but if something is a "problem" close the books and fix it.
@@moquips It's not hand waving. I'm telling you to fix something, your own way. Figure it the F out. Clearly your the one who's lazy who "always has this problem". If you spent an hour or two you could heavily build off something like what I came up with in two seconds. Sorry for your table that's waiting for the perfect crafting system to land in your effing lap.

@@CyberSkelly817 I'm looking for internal consistency, not just some hand wave saying "it works because I said so". That's just lazy...
