I feel it deserves to be mentioned that their models are also cheaper than certain other sci-fi tabletop games, too. The price point for all their kits is just...breathtakingly different.
Can't argue with that, Martyn, great point. I had to cut some as it was a bit of a ramble (even for me!), and the value compared to erm... Other systems... was right in there.
I’m really pleased with how the models are sculpted and painted on the site, gives me a vibe that warhammer just kinda doesn’t. The only real thing holding me back is that I’m trying to save up for a 3D printer to save on wargaming stuff. That and trying to pick a faction, I’m split between the Veer-myn, Plague, and Forge Fathers. I’m really thinking that I want to go Veer-myn as of now though.
Understandable. I would be tempted by the printer first to be honest, then you can run off coil terrain and objectives! Tough decision on your faction though. My heart says Veer-myn but my available hobby time says Forge Fathers.
My blocker to playing 40k is that every time I try to build an army for actual play, the vehicles in even a space marine army require so much bootleg magnetization that I get roadblocked on model construction. As a result, my models never make it to the table. Mantic doesn't really have that problem. I'm leaving my black templar army on the side-line for now until I've done some firefight and age of sigmar.
Jumping on the Firefight train so much appreciated, but also glad to follow another gameplay > hobby table top gamer. Don't get me wrong, its all part of the hobby, but I'm definitely another "get the models in a decent enough state to start playing" sort of person.
Only 5 reasons? There are so many more: setting, price, minis, rules at least come to mind. I just found this game and I just wish I could've started earlier :)
Firefight rekindled my interest in 28mm SciFi army-scale wargames. The rules are simple, everything makes sense and they feel like a 2022 rules set. I tried out the 2 big GW games lately and I can't believe how clunky unbalanced and dated the rules are. Firefight is a huge breath of fresh air.
Apologies for the delay in replying, Hugh. It's just so slick. I think I could tempt non gamer friends to try it, it's so simple to explain. Happy gaming!
Apologies for the late response - I don't believe that the Rebs will be getting a FF release, so keep hammering away at the GCPS. They're bad ass models!
GW on the cheap, basically. I am painting up the Battle for Exham 3. The heavy borrowing from GW is in your face. I'd like to see something truly original and creative from Mantic. In time, I suppose.
Slightly disapointed when it comes to build the models in deadzone starter set...things ain't that clear imho. I had to find more photos on the net....or is it I'm dumb ? 🤔
Apologies for the late response - Yep that is a fair comment. The FF Start Here! booklet has guides for building the Enforcers and Marauders, which is very useful. Not sure about the Strike Force boxes, though. Mantic has instructions on their site for various kits. Good Luck!
Apologies for the delay in replying. Agreed, the Marauder heads are certainly a pain but the value is insane in that set! All other components are good quality!
Not only should you buy into and play Mantic Games and their games. You should sell your GW stuff as a protest message to GW. ROFL I'm ditching all my GW stuff for other games that run by people and companies that actually know how to right proper rules and balance. Because GW sure isn't doing that.
Mantic really does care about the player base. If you ever get a chance to get to their open day events at HQ I would highly recommend it, they're very nice in person too.

Yeah. Faction starters (mostly hard plastic) cost like 80ish $ and are more than starters. 750-1000 point armies in each of them.
Check out Deadzone and Kings of war too as an ex gw player Mantic are my jam.
The KoW rulebook is incredible, and I've got Deadzone 1 and 2 :D
Mantic are indeed my jam also!

I can appreciate your frustrations. By all accounts the Mantic vehicles are great fun to build!

Welcome aboard, Randall and thank you for watching.
Agreed, I'm very much a base/wash/dry brush sort of person. Just get them based and on the table!

Yes I agree! I don't get much time to make regular/longer content so I need to keep it swift ha haa
@@TableTopMagpie I understand :) As a former game store owner and smalltime streamer I know the burden of linear time being too fast. :D

Can't wait until Rebs join the Firefight :D In the meantime I'll build out my GCPS

i haven't bought anything from "the other guys" for over a decade when i switched to mantic

@@TableTopMagpie I have finally managed to assemble the whole set..and almost finished painting. Wasn't that difficult after all....
Finally got my starter set. Lot of stuff in it. Only regret...mould lines are mostly awful. Great bang for the buck though.

@@TableTopMagpie Yep...insane value for the money. Well said ! Keep up the good work with your vids man!!!
got my set 😂, already played enforcers in Warpath so been looking forward to this.
I am in love the Enforcers, looks like they can do some fun command orders shenanigans in FF2.0!
