- Firefight is an excellent miniatures game from Mantic Games. In this video, Marc-André from La boutique Tabletop presents a few of its strong suits.

Another thing to love about Firefight is it's little brother Deadzone! You can use the same miniatures and, being a skirmish game in the same universe, you can test out a bunch of factions before choosing one to boost up to a full army in Firefight. Great video as usual.
Or go even smaller scale to personal and incorporate them in Star Saga Sci Fi Dungeon Crawls.

Recently abandoned GW in frustration of oh so many issues.
Have now bought Deadzone and both Firefight starters and Core Space for a breath of fresh air.
You have reinforced my decision into more fun for less money and better, more rules stable gaming.
Deadzone will get its own video in the near future on this channel. What an amazing game, as well! I enjoyed Core Space, but I find the setup to be a little time-consuming, which prevents it from getting more table time.

Oooh. Same here. I have Nightstalkers for Kings of War and I can't wait to see what they do in Firefight.
This pushed me to get the new two player set. I already had the older two player set, with marauders and enforcers but I wanted the Ratkin and more of the space dwarves! Thank you. Great video!

I was on a heavy Mantic kick about a year ago, and while I like Firefight and prefer it over 40K, I just found I wasn't as invested in my Firefight stuff. We played up to 4000 or 5000 points games of Warpath Firefight the KS version that has been revisited twice now into its latest ruleset. The problem I have is that my local scene is very GW heavy, and most people won't even consider anything else. I do love Star Saga though and with the character and mission creator expansion, you can incorporate so much of Mantics Sci Fi into the dungeon crawler.
The situation is similar in my neck of the woods. It's understandable; GW has been around for so long and they invest a lot in producing videos, marketing, etc. If a game store carries a single miniatures game, it's probably Warhammer. That being said, we are building a player community here. It takes some time, but where getting there.
I use to play the first edition of Firefight but I lost interest somewhere along the way. However, I recently started getting interested in sci-fi wargaming again and my go to was Firefight. As a result I now have the newest starter box with the updated rules in the mail. I'm really looking forward to it and I should get it next week. In the meantime I'm dusting off my old armies and getting them ready for action again.

Did you let your favorite local game shop know that you're interested? Sometimes, that's all a shop owner needs to hear to get the ball rolling. They might know of someone else looking to discover Firefight.
@@laboutiquetabletop oh of course, not enough interest to justify buying the product or the license to sell Mantic products even. Everyone wants to keep glomping on GW overpriced plastic and predatory ruleset and seasons...
