    I am so pumped you guys did another episode with him. This picture is a group of the most inspiring guys to my own personal fitness. Thanks Barbell Shrugged! Such a great episode!

      Fantastic. I've only watched two episodes and the same guest was on both. Brilliant.

    I can honestly say squating everyday has changed my body and training forever. I've tried a lot of programs out there through out my training career and nothing compares to squat everyday. All my lifts have gotten stronger and my body has completely changed. Thanks Cory for sharing this program with us.

    This show has only gotten better! The narrative intros are very dope (shout out to Chris for being a VO wizard). All of your "interviewing skills" have improved tremendously. The variety of info you guys put out is top notch and I always take away some juicy knowledge bits. This is hands down my favorite show on youtube and low key in general. I think I speak on behalf of many viewers when I say thank you for making Wednesday's something to look forward to. Cheers!

    I'm getting that feeling from this episode that Arnie is coming to BarbellShrugged.. any comment? :) I just want to show my appreciation for your podcasts boys, they are absolute gold when spending long periods of time travelling and keeping my mind going and stimulated. Everything you guys cover is relevant, informative and material I completely understand and can relate to, but never show bias to one discipline. Keep it up from your #1 follower in Australia/NewZealand. Chenin

    Great stuff. Arnold got me started. I was able to train at the historic Stern's Gym in San Diego, back in the '70's. Love this stuff.

    Did this for 2 months... Loved it. Such a challenge, but went from just being afraid to rep more than 5 at 225 and bending in half to now ripping 365 for sets of 3. Slow and steady. (trying to get over an unrelated ankle pop...)
    Love the inspiration guys. Thanks!

    Cory, Chris or any of you guys, can you give us a good breakdown of what to do each day to keep the volume light but still squat every day. I am a Crossfitter and I would like to get back into this but the first time I did it I followed the squat programming on Bodybuilding.com then did my daily metcons and it was too much volume. I added 45lbs to my back squat and 50lbs to my front squat in a month but my metcons really suffered from all of the reps I was putting in squatting. Thanks in advance. I really look up to you all and I'm immensely inspired by what you're doing.

    There was a mention of squatting every day and crossfitting: show up early, squat, then do the WOD. I'm curious about actually implementing that. Would it be appropriate to base this off the schedule of squatting in the published Squat Every Day program, but substitute crossfit for the other portions of the published workout?

    • @corygfitness

    I would like to start that squat every day program! Now whit try and error after almost 500 day would you change something of the original program?

  • @joshcooper9385
    @joshcooper9385 9 років тому

    The lunges he talks about, is he just saying normal bodyweight lunges, or with like front racked barbell and weight? Or varied?

    • @joshcooper9385

      Roger that, thanks. This is why I enjoy your show and content, you provide quality material but also pay enough attention to answer questions from any schmuck. Keep up the good work!

    Cory,
    Have you ever considered overhead squats as part of you programming?

  • @alanmiller4122
    @alanmiller4122 9 років тому

    true that Small Caps, I know at one time Corey said he would like to be able to dunk a basketball, I'd have a similar question for elite Crossfitters, I'd like to know beyond the amounts of weight they are able to lift and the amount of work theyre able to do, how fast are they? how high can they jump? how far can they run? how far can they throw?

  • @glove8888
    @glove8888 9 років тому

    One thing I wish you guys would talk about with Corey is the actual physical benefits of squatting everyday, outside of just saying im getting better at squats lol. Id like to hear from him on physically what hes noticed aesthetically and strength wise outside of the obvious of im getting stronger with my squats and why that is. Ive heard him say in his personal vids that your testosterone and HGH go up.

    • @glove8888
      @glove8888 9 років тому

      Most of us get into this to either look better or get stronger. So to hear from someone who's doing something out of the ordinary like squatting everyday about the benefits in these areas would be nice.

    "Arnold is the reason people are lifting weights in America." That's probably not true. High school and college football teams were seriously lifting weights before Arnold. So, lots and lots of players lifting after playing because they were lifting in football. I got my first weight set for Xmas years before Conan when I was playing Pop Warner. Weights and football went together way, way back, long before Arnold.
    I'm definitely not saying he wasn't amazingly influential in some way. E.g., I was studying and reading everything I could about Arnold, loving those early movies, and lifting weights probably too much like a body builder, in order to play football. No doubt Arnold made body building by itself more socially acceptable. Likely a lot less people think it's freakish now because of him.
    Moreover, the fitness craze in the US definitely does not have its source at Muscle Beach. Running was already big in the 70s. Posh health clubs with racquet ball courts, weight rooms, saunas, and lots of those yellow Lifecycle machines were popping up every where in US suburbia before Arnold and Muscle Beach were known by anyone but a handful of subscribers to Muscle and Fitness.
    Jack LaLanne's influence cannot be discounted here either. He was on TV just about everywhere, doing all sorts of things, including lifting weights.

      Well, looking back at the first episode you were on when you were first talking about squatting every day you had the beanie, big fluffy sweater. In the most recent episode you looked more "professional". Not that I really care, I still use the Arnold protein, it was just an idle observation (I honestly didn't expect you to respond... lol).
