    Expecting my first baby and this video is life changing; thank you for what you do. I was debating between the Elvie and Willow Go to supplement the Medela (gift). Since I'm a resident physician and running around the hospital all day I want something super quiet and light weight and sounds like the Elvie is just that. Thanks again!

    I also think when returning to work you should have an awesome lactation room that puts you at ease.

    As an Elementary school teacher I feel these same challenges. I was thinking of using:
    Wearable: Momcozy Mobile M6.
    Milk catcher w/ suction: Boon Trove.
    Then when I get home to do Spectra 1.

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  5 місяців тому +1

      Very similar issues for teachers, yes. The boon troove isn’t going to well empty your breast, probably not a good idea during work hours. A wearable pump makes sense, have you tried it? Does it empty your breast well? They don’t always do a great job but if it works well for you it can be a nice option!

      @@NewLittleLife I haven't tried yet. I had read that the Boon Trove would be similar to the hakka which my neighbor said worked better than her regular pump. I heard the Momcozy Mobile M6 is better than the M5 but doesn't have the vibrations that Spectra has. I figured some type of pump would be better than being unable to pump. Having a hard time identifying the best wearable pump due to their issues with fully emptying.

    What cup do you recommend to pair with the genie?

    I'm a radiologist so thankfully I can pump while writing reports on the computer. When on-call I don't have time to stop working for a pumping break (not to mention food break). I have to use a wearable because I sit with my colleagues and other doctors are always coming in for consults so no privacy.
    It's less efficient for sure to use the wearable for 26 hours but thankfully I have a good supply and a big stock in the freezer

    Im a physician at a general medicine clinic
    I tried to prolong my maternity leave to 6 months but the administration denied my request
    Still, I only got back to my clinic two days a week
    I tried to express milk during work on the very first day i got back i told the nurses im gonna need some privacy in my office
    The moment i closed the door i got 3 patients knocking on the door and kept knocking and whenever someone asks where am i the nurses would say she is in her office
    So i stopped everything and opened the door and didn't pump that day
    The funny thing is that after few minutes they ordered breakfast and didn't tell me saying you had your breakfast break when you closed the door . I was shocked and didn't say anything 😅
    (Im not blaming the nurses. It's just what happened to me)
    The next day the clinic was so busy that i didn't even have time to have breakfast
    So i stopped trying
    (My clinic is a family medicine clinic in which 99% of my patients are not urgent and they can wait 10 minutes but they don't. They simply keep knocking on the door until i open)
    My supply dropped to half and now i was forced to suppliment with formula
    I spend the days telling moms the importance of exclusively breastfeeding their babies when my own baby was denied that right 😢
    Every time i make him a bottle i can't help but think that i somehow failed him as a mom

      that would help me find a new job
      Hopefully once he starts sleeping for longer stretches i would work hard to find a new job
      I did promise myself that i wont allow the same things happen with my next baby

      Im so sorry this happened to you 😔 I’m also a provider in a primary care clinic, in a pediatric clinic. My plan is to also extend my leave to 6 months and I’m part-time. I plan to use wearable pumps if they won’t block time for pumping and I’ll just have to wear a pump while seeing patients.

    What are your thoughts on the legendairy milk duette vs the Z2? Side note this is exactly what I'm going through right now- setting boundaries and taking time for myself😢

    What are some other wearable pumps that do a good job of draining and emptying the breast's while at work? Then when at home I prefer to use a regular breastpump

      @NewLittleLife  5 місяців тому

      It’s not a particular pump that will drain you well, it’s more about how you use it. If you want some help figuring all of that out and how it applies to your unique supply, let me know! That’s what I do :)

    Hi Allison! I WFH 3 days out of the week and baby will be home with me and hubby will be watching baby. But I will be still BF from the breast on those 3 days (plus weekends) since it’s actually quicker than pumping. Since I only go into the office 2 days a week do you think I can get away with a wearable pump only? I don’t want to lose my supply but I also don’t want to lug around a large pump.

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  2 місяці тому

      Hmm.. that’s tricky! If you can use your wearable to get most/all of the milk out then it should be fine! Wearables can definitely work, they’re just more tricky to get working well. Watch for signs of incomplete emptying or your supply decreasing, if you want some help let me know.

    I am a 3rd year dental student with 6 month old baby… How will it effect my supply if I am unable to have the same pump schedule every day? Between class and clinic it is challenging to pump at the same time because every day is different

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  5 місяців тому

      The same times every day doesn’t matter as much as the intervals between pumps. It’s ok if every day looks a bit different, as long as you’re emptying the breast well and frequently! Everyone’s supply has a different tolerance, if you want some help working through it all let me know.
