There are no additional risks shipping by sea than shipping by any other method. DDP is a shipping arrangement between you and your supplier, it doesn't matter the actual form of shipping that is used. You can use DDP for air or sea if your supplier offers that service.

Alibaba doesn't have anything to do with the manufacturing or shipping. They are simply a database of manufacturers. You need to discuss the terms and responsibilities with your manufacturer or freight forwarder and determine who is doing what and contacting who.

You can get shipping quotes from your supplier or a freight forwarder without having to create a shipping plan. Just use any US address or any Amazon warehouse address. The shipping quote will be pretty much the same. The bulk of the cost is crossing the ocean, not the US side.

The idea is to keep your unit costs as low as possible without sacrificing quality in order to maximize profits. If having Amazon do the work is more cost effective than your supplier, then have Amazon do it.

Hello. The difference between DDP and DAP is that in DDP all costs and taxes of import clearance are paid by the seller while in DAP are paid by the buyer.

Use the option that makes the more sense cost and time wise. Explore options with freight forwarders and see what they recommend to save on costs.

Yes, that’s how most freight forwarders will handle the shipment. But you’ll want to communicate with them to arrange the exact details.
