- Welcome to Atrox Castle. This build has been a labour of love for over a year, and is still a work in progress. I have lots done now, but still have much to do. My philosophy to Astroneer builds is to try and make them blend into the surrounding. I hope I have achieved that here. Let me know in the comments below.

Working with dirt in Astroneer is so hard, and actually building a structure with it is something I never consider, but this is insanely impressive

I thought the same initially. Now every play through I run away from the starting shelter and use the terrain for unique bases on each planet
@@screaminseaman6121 aside from flattening, I'm too scared to put much thought into the dirt details of a base
You can only build structures like this in 6 places on a planet, where true flat is allowed
@@nathanstafford8412 I get that. I started small with multi level outposts, cave, and mountain bases. Try with a little area you dont really mind if it gets messed up

It's funny. The first time I played Astroneer, as soon as I saw Atrox had a Hard survival rating, I decided to make it my main base planet. Did pretty decent too, especially since wind turbines weren't clay and batteries weren't sphalerite, yet. The research access was just so good.

glacios caves arw a lot more accessible, open, and safe, and have a slightly smaller byte abundance, those are the reasons why people usually pick glacio rather then atrox, also atrox has no exclusive resources.
@tam oh yeh that's just when I was new and didn't know what I was doing 😅 calidor is my main squeeze now just cos wolframite/tungsten is ez scrap. Whole planets my auto scrap/auto fuel depot
@@tam_69420 Glacio is definitely easier. Some people don't like it too easy!

Dude, the stairs is the most impressive part, how long did it take you to make all of those that consistent?
It's pretty simple to do with the leveling block. You just need a little skill but a lot of patience! :)
Just tap with the leveler not hold, you can be precise. The main issue is worrying about your vehicles falling through the ground when youve modified it that much haha

Thanks. The chess set is too easy to get these days, but yeah, you have to do it at least once! :) I have started doing permadeath runs on stream, which are great fun! Especially when chat kills me with channel point redeems :( lol

Atrox is the most beautiful planet in the entire game. I don't know how you made a base like that though, I can't even make the ground flat
I'm surprised how little automation you added to the storage, and having the storage farther away than just a few steps from your crafting stations, but the dirt building was cool.

In my honest opinion you can't really call a base a base in astroneer unless you have crisp walls and floors and geeze you've fucking nailed it I wish I was even remotely close to this level of patience and resolve

@@cam.evo8661 It will only work well on certain areas of the planet. Near the gateways is the easiest area to work with.
