George Reeves was the best Superman in my opinion. He even played Clark Kent better, with confidence in himself, and no signs of clumsiness.
    RIP George.

Reeve acted like that to further the ploy. Superman stands up straight with his chest out and is confident. Clark slumps his shoulders and is not confident.

That intro where he's standing in front of the 48 star flag and the announcer says "fights a never ending battle for truth, justice and the American way" still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Now in 2019 look at the swamp, the corrupt media, all the totally unethical shit politicians that just care about money/power and not America. I probably shouldn't make this political but Trump may be all that stands between the old America and some new socialist nightmare. We really do need superman more than ever.

Noel Neill (Lois Lane) was cute as button. I had a major crush on her in the early sixties watching Superman reruns. She was probably the only starlet of her time that talked in a General Standard American accent. All others talked in a funny "Mid Atlantic" half British and half American accents. Used to drive me nuts not knowing where the actors were really from.

From the mid 60s to early 70's it definitely was one of my favorite shows and everyone else I knew as well that were friends at the time. It didn't exactly continue into the '60s; but around 1961, the show went into rerun syndication in the kid's show market around the country, and lasted a while. The syndication seemed to happen about the time that the Superboy and Superpup projects tanked; I have long suspected that the syndication deal was the studio's fallback alternative.

Tim ran away from home, never to return, as he was ashamed of his dad thinking he was a criminal. Tim's mother was so upset about this, that she divorced her husband.
After the divorce, Dan changed his name to Ward Cleaver and he married June. They then started a family, and had two sons named Wally and Beaver.
