I recently went from the S23U to the 8 Pro to try something different and I was curious, its my first Pixel that I actually WANT to keep 😆 I find the camera absolutely brilliant and very reliable (maybe portrait mode needs some work though), ive used the long exposure mode a few times too, very fun! Im big in to photography and the Pixel just feels great to use, the super quick shutter, the immense detail in every shot too. And if it lifts the shadows a little much for my liking I'll just tweak that in post anyway. Very, very happy with the pictures it gives me!
@@mrhpijl to be honest, in what I do day to day I see no difference in speed at all. The 8 Pro is plenty snappy and doesn't feel like I've lost anything speed wise from the s23U
@@Alexander0189 thanks. What's you battery experience with the Pixel? I want the Pixel software experience but the benchmarks give me slight FOMO for the S23U, therefore considering it as well. @@mrhpijl battery wise probably about 7-8 hours, but some days it can go down waaay faster even though I'm not doing anything that different which a bit weird. In my personal opinion, the Pixel has better cameras but other than that I do like everything else better on the s23U - battery, display, one UI to me is much more enjoyable than stock android, I've never been that into stock android. I'm using the Pixel currently just for something different but I'll likely go back to the s24U when that comes out.
ive had a horrible experience in battery life with the pixel... performance on exporting images from lightroom its about 3 to 4 times slower than the s23 ultra (not exaggerating just try it for yourself) The cameras, yes they are great but i returned it and got a s23 ultra is just a better phone
Also, a higher megapixel count may mean more detail but because of how small the sensor, the noise is going to be very prominent because it's hard to get the light through the pixel group.
The s23 ultra is far superior with the s pen gestures and utilization when my fingers get tired and for photos from a distance , samsung members , Samsung health , Samsung flow , Dex , Samsung TV , wireless projection , 10 x zoom , emulator gaming way beyond the iPhone 15 pro expensive gaming , superior multi tasking with exclusive edge panel up to 3 apps at a time , superior in screen fingerprint scanner, more and faster updates etc . My s23 ultra is the phone champion on 2023 Pixel 8 pro has impressive AI and I love what they are offering but bad battery for me is a deal breaker and the s23 ultra is still the superior device

@moinhosdesaoroque8749 yep exactly the s23 Ultra battery is astonishingly good . I usually only charge it once or twice max a day the standby time is unbelievable. I'm glad you realize it
To be fair, i disagree that the pixel has no camera competition, i dislike the feel pixel gives of it looking more processed and attempting to be perfect, it removes soul. But Samsung... Man their processing has been bad for a long time, with oversharpening, not a great contrast, way too bright shots and just a general lack of understanding of photography, and that is coming from someone who loved Samsung in the past.
Yeahhh gotta agree with this in my case as well. Was a long time iPhone user, tried s23U, then P8P and everything about the Pixel just... feels right 😂
I got a pixel 8 pro coming from an s23 ultra and honestly I don't miss it at all. my ultra had so many bugs like the refresh rate would randomly get stuck at a low refresh rate and it would stutter and lag and then Instagram would stay freezing all the time and not sending messages etc and what kind of irked me more was the night pics or taking pics things that are black, for some reason in night mode my s23 ultra had this nasty blue hue and when taking pictures of black objects it had the same thing with the blue hue and I'm glad to say that the pixel doesn't have that. Productivity wise, I've never had a single issues with performance I get to play fortnite in epic settings at 60 fps so it's good enough for me lol
Nahhh. I wouldn't go that far with praising pixel camera, especially now in autumn/winter season. In the dark cloudy day, pixels photos looks just too dull and too dark, Samsung sligh overexposing, and extra saturation is coming handy now, s23u photos looks way more true to life . Its exactly opposite in spring/summer season, then photos made by pixels are looking better due to lower exposure and lower saturation, photos taken by samsung are too bright and too oversaturated. So samsung is my autumn/winter choice of camera and pixel is the best for spring and summer season.

I think the pixels software is unbeatable. I love samsung and the S23 ultra. But having a phone with software and hardware both made by the same company is so cohesive. I would advise ppl to chose the Google Pixel 8 Pro. If you never owned a pixel, u will be amazed 🐬
