Thanks for the post. Whatever is causing my gauge issue is also causing the ac to switch off (though the light remains on), the engine brake to not work, and worst of all is causing the ELD to not record driving
My 2020 western star has a problem with just the air gauges working and then not working with the back light going out. Now I’ll have an idea of what to look out for. Western Star is made by freightLiner and have almost the same type of gauges
Hey thanks for the video it was very helpful mine is freightliner Columbia speedometer gauge showing 5 miles more But every hundred miles when I reset it’s actually showing 120 miles digital gauge is not working and engage with hands not working what should I do
I have a 2010 freightliner cascadia I didn't see any jumpers It's just the 2 main plugs in the center of cluster that plug in. It shuts off and on especially when I set the tractor brake.
Great old video having this problem right now but where is the part number in the description. Already failed with by trying to get a used one at eBay 😂
Would this affect the cruise control also . My buttons on my steering wheel works but cruise will only come on sometimes , when it does the speedometer won’t be the right speed it shows 10mph .
Hey can you please point me in right direction with voltage gauge, fuel gauge pressure on my classic. 1. Fuel gauge works fine if my fan is off but as soon as i turn my fan on fuel gauge starts falling off. 2. Voltage gauge- it keeps on showing fluctuations between 12.5 to 13.9 or maybe hits 14 or above once in a while. Oil Pressure gauges shows fluctuations too. I’m assuming maybe a short circuit or something somewhere. I just needs someone to point me in right direction or where to start from. (Detroit 2008 fully deleted) alternator wiring cleaned all the way. And motor has new sensor Harness and injector harness. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
hello brother I have Freightliner speedometer is not working when I’m doing 65 actual mph but the gate shows 72, and digital mileage is going up every 100 miles from point A to B it’s actually 110, every 200 miles it’s a showing 220
Thanks. Mine some time transmission check light turn on! For a second! So I think it’s shortage rather than the transmission itself. And recently few times the primary air gauge acting funky dropped n raised bk quickly. The air gauge wire is easy to find but how do I tell which one is for transmission light !
Hey Marinetrucker1775, would that problem cause the truck to lose acceleration? My oil gauge, DPF gage and temperature gage turn on and off... and RPM gauge too... check engine light comes on and off... when this happens.... truck will not accelerate at all... and occasionally will turn off... I've already replaced mcm and engine harness, cpc module, acm module, intake throttle valve, accelerator pedal... truck ran good for 1,000 miles and it did it again!... stopped accelerating... I'm now told it may be a data link issue...😖
The gauges dropping is due to not getting power/voltage from the main jumper and every jumper after. Data does go through them obviously to give the driver warning. Sounds like you’ve thrown everything but the kitchen sink at your issue. The data link might be your issue but I’m sure the gauges have nothing to do with it. I’m not a a mechanic. I just work on my own trucks to save money. Sorry I can’t be of more help
I have a cascadia that I recently have had the sam chassis replaced. Initially everything was fine but now when I drive every so often my abs light will come on then all the gauges on the left side will drop as if truck is off & inside of the bar it says no engine…. Still having power to move the truck but no engine and no gauge work on the left side including MPH & RPM gauge??? Any suggestions

Well after the one jumper was fixed I did end up just changing them all out. There are 9 I purchased 10. My cascadia is a 2013. You might have less gauges or more gauges. Just take the 4 screws out. Tilt the panel back don’t pull it out. And you can count exactly how many there are for your specific truck. The jumpers are not cheap overpriced for what they are. But for 10 your looking @ $100. If you have any more questions. I’ll be happy to answer.
MarineTrucker1775 Ok great, the problem I’m having is the fuel gauge goes a lot further to E than it should, the longer I drive it the lower it will go, but after you park it & then check it the next day, it will go back up to where it’s supposed to be, the low fuel light has been on & when I parked it & let it sit, it went back to a lil over half a tank, & dealer has already replaced the sending unit but didn’t fix the problem.
They might have replaced the sending unit but did they replace the leveler? Sometimes you can replace the sending unit because it’s a plug and not replace the actual leveler.
Lol you must be seeing things. I didn’t have any broken wiring. I sold that truck back in February of this year and everything from what I’m told is still working flawlessly. A buddy of mine owns it now.
Dude a whole discourse about ...... And at the end, i guess we have to take your word for it. I didn't catch the results. The gauges working. Other than that.....
You don’t have to take my word for anything. Sorry you didn’t find it helpful. The fact is some things are extremely basic and always go for the cheapest route first. If your gauges are powered and you’re having an issue with one 99.9% of the time on gauges like these it’s the jumpers. Best of luck with your issue.
Thanks for the post. Whatever is causing my gauge issue is also causing the ac to switch off (though the light remains on), the engine brake to not work, and worst of all is causing the ELD to not record driving

What up!! Where is the link to purchase jumper wires
There isn’t a link. You will have to go to Freightliner to purchase.
What is the third reason?
When I turn the key, my speedo and tach go thru rgb colors. How can I set them to red?
You can’t unless you do custom gauges

Are all the Jumper cables has the same plug ?
They are also called daisy chains. So each jumper has its own port the connect each gauge to the next.
