Today, I had a mobile mechanic show up to my house to fix a problem I was having with my AC on my personal truck and the experience with him reminded me of watching your videos of you in the shop with your guys working on the trucks and showing us how a truck engine works and how to fix the various things. It's kind of sad that manufacturers won't address these issues with any degree of expediency & reliability. At least somebody is out doing good work like this who actually cares about people's livelihoods.
General Motors is having the same issue and some of their newer vehicles. And it’s not that the manufactures have not addressed the fix is the fact that they don’t have the part to fix it.

Yup I’m from California and I’m an owner operator and last month I had my CPC stolen during the day parked in front of my house and it cost me around 5,000 to get another one installed. It cost me work that I had scheduled the next day.
I wonder how many of those are actually failed CPC's and how many are working units that are being sent in before they fail to get ahead of it? And another thing: This here is another proof of "Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover". Lawrence may have a southern accent and missing teeth from the middle of Tennessee but he got the smarts to figure this out, know to recognize an opportunity for more business and if it wasn't for him, there would be a lot more truckers unable to deliver what we need and take care of their families. Good on Lawrence (and now Virginia) for doing this and to Tim for highlighting this. 👍
Ask your electrician to relocate this if possible.. the reason for the problem ia overheating.. will have thia problem during summer more often.. try to relocate.
It sounds like Freightliner, Western Star / Dimeler have knowingly designed this cpc with this flaw so that it will fail after the warranty has expired so that the truck owners will have to spend the money on labor and a new cpc. It would also seem that they don't care about the potential thousands of dollars it could cost the truck owners. I wonder if someone could bring a class action law suit against them. After all this video proves the fault in how the parts are made and how it could be fixed by the manufacturer just by changing the type of solder and Flux they use.
