- The classic Angry Birds game is disappearing from the Google Play Store, while having an uncertain future on the iPhone App Store. Rovio made a surprising announcement that their Angry Birds comeback is negatively affecting other Angry Birds games, leading to this awful decision to make the game unavailable to players.
Modern mobile games generally follow the formula of too many microtransactions and ad interruptions, but the classic Angry Birds game represents the golden era of simple fun on the mobile market. With Rovio removing Angry Birds from the Google Play Store, fans aren't gonna be happy.

UPDATE: Another community manager at Rovio (Oscar) has clarified details about Angry Birds Classic's negative impact on their other games. According to him, Classic's removal isn't related to the money it's making on the app store. Here's how he describes the situation:
"Think of it this way. RC:AB is a premium game, it costs money. Someone who googles 'angry birds' might see RCAB first, see the price tag and be discouraged and leave."

It's because their newer games are less fun but also bring in more money. If people play their older games, then they will not play the new ones because the older ones are actually what people want. This is proof that rovio cares more about money than what makes their fans happy

Man, I remember playing the original for *HOURS* and finally getting three stars on all the levels. Goodbye late childhood and early adolescence.
On the “Haunted Hogs” episode in the Seasons game, I managed to get all 90 stars, because there were 30 levels.
The game being deleted was already a huge punch in the gut. But the fact that it’s being renamed to “red’s first flight” is like being pissed on.

No! They can't do this! Angry Birds is a classic, and their reason for wanting to get rid of it is just ridiculous. If they truly care about their fans they would not do this to us, and they know it even if they deny the truth hundreds of millions of times.

The game may be gone, but the legacy will live on forever.
Games are being deleted, franchises are being redone horribly, and reboots are rampant like rat infestations, our childhood as we know it has been utterly and royally screwed.
While it is sad, it also doesn't come as a surprise to me. The rerelease was an unfinished product. It had many glitches and bugs, plus many features in the original rendition were missing. On top of that, there was barely any promotion or marketing efforts for the title other than a UA-cam trailer. This also does make me a bit concerned about the future of Bad Piggies 2, which is another major anticipated release from the fanbase.
Yeah rovio only puts stuff out like this to get older fans off their case and to appease to nostalgia
Currently Bad Piggies 2 is our only hope as Angry Birds fans during these hard times.

I’m upset that I used to be an Angry Birds fan and played all the older games. I’m mad at how Rovio decided to dumb down Angry Birds into casual gaming to a little kids’ market and ditching what makes Angry Birds amazing and ANGRY as it was. Reality is often disappointing. 😞

This is infuriating. Rovio should realize that if the Classic Remake is getting more attention than their new games, than that should say something about the quality of the others. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The remake has all the charm and quality of the original, and the original still made Rovio a success. If Rovio really wants us to pay more attention and more money, then remake more of the classics and KEEP them up until they have to be remade to stay up to date with the current game making software. I know I would pay immediately for Angry Birds Seasons to be remade.

I remember the first time I ever played it is when I saw the 1st generation ipad for the first time. I was at a Walmart in Mexico during a family vacation and got to play a demo unit. Back then the idea of seeing a tablet, let alone one as big as the iPad was kind blowing technology to 13 year old me at the time

Why is it that the minute someone gives us something good, they take it away?! We're clearly upset and expressing our anger publicly.
As someone who owns a phone that uses the google play store, I immediately downloaded the game because they stated it would still be available to those who had purchased it previously, even when it becomes unlisted. Angry Birds was one of the mobile games I grew up on, and I wanted to get it on my phone while I still could.
But you should pay money to get it right?
If you want a near-identical experience to what we all had back in 2012, cracked versions of the PC build of angry birds + space & seasons exists out there, as well as bad piggies.
There's also the Angry Birds trilogy games, which are practically the same except they don't include Space.
This is a nightmare, I remember playing it in 2012-2016 for hours every day. RIP 2009-2023

Y'know with how well the OG AB's doing, you'd think that Rovio would take a step back and re-evaluate what made their game good in the first place. (Might have something that rhymes with, "Schmicroschramsmactions".) Everyone knows that when it comes to game development: Fun is the most important thing above all else. This is how you get people to keep coming back to your game. The less micro-transactions and predatory ads you have for your mobile game, the better. 'Nuff said.
Has Rovio considered that there may be a good reason people were choosing the classic Angry Birds over the newer games?!
That game had effort into it and clearly the new ones don’t, hence ppl don’t want to play the new games.
Best part is that removing the original doesn’t mean the newer games will be successful. The quality of the game needs to speak for itself and if nobody wants the new ones, they still wont play lol

The newer games don’t feel the same but the older games put in a lot of effort the art style was more simple and everything wasn’t confusing but the newer games, most of them are just copy and paste of already popular games
Classic AB is a one-time purchase of $1.
New AB is free to download but more expensive in the long run since it's full to the brim with in-app purchases. A desperate gamer is going to end up splurging loads of cash while playing.

I played both classic and angry birds go THE ORIGINAL ONE of course and its so sad that they removed both, i could play angry birds go for days. It was literally my childhood, goodbye :(
This is Sad because I Physically grew up with the angry birds franchise ever since I was first introduced to mobile gaming and I'm so sad that one of my most favorite mobile games of all time is being removed for the second time a franchise that I grew up with is sadly falling through the cracks of the earth 😭

The synopsis of the game is that the birds were on a vacation from their adventures of the pigs at tiki island they bring their eggs to the island, when suddenly the volcano on the island erupted the other birds fled for cover Lava and molten rocks shoot out into the sky. The Tiki tribe awakes and they emerge from the molten rocks that are still airborne. The eruption continues until Tiki Tower bursts out of the volcano and roars.
The members of the Tiki Tribe then go down to the island to hypnotize the animals there by playing music (namely elephants, giraffes, ostriches, hippos, tigers, antelope, zebras, rhinos, pangolins, porcupines, pelicans, lions and squirrels). The animals start stealing every egg from Tiki Island, only to come across thee Angry birds' nest. Red after hiding from the volcano eruption finally steps out of the house just in time to see the eggs being taken away by the native animals Red Scowls and thinking that the pigs must have enslaved these animals to steals the eggs for them, until a tiki general comes along a few seconds later and pushes him back into his hut. The Tiki plays its music, trying to hypnotize the bird, but Red seems to be immune against the hypnosis by their music. The Tiki tries again as Red squints his eyes at him and then Angered, as he has found the culprit to why his eggs has gone missing.
After the cutscene, the player gets control. Red punches the tiki out of his hut and walks outside. The Birds then begin their quest to take back their eggs and rid the tikis of The island. Along the way they meet up with a tiki named tiki bird who is a member of the tiki tribe but he betrayed them to joined the birds
And new birds like a hummingbird named Zipz, a puffin named Puff, a flamingo named Flim and a sparrow named Spike.
The gameplay of angry birds stay the same with the slingshot you can launch the birds to take down the tiki tribe and the possessed wildlife(that includes animals, plants, ghosts, skeletons, and robots) and some are sheltered inside of structures made of glass, wood and stone, alongside other objects. and the multi stage levels except for the boss battles. The pigs will be in the game but as minor enemies, and Zeta's here too but as a boss battle ironically Both the pigs and zeta were being hypnotized by the tikis along with other bosses to do their dirty work.
There's also Professor pig who helps the birds by leveling them up
Greg and Olive (the blues' parents from the movie and the blues) run the shop which contains powerups
Professor Carrots aka the tutorial Rabbit(who serves a tutorial instructor for the birds)
This game combines A 2d level gameplay with a cgi background
@@vanessasandoval96 they are doing this sh** because they want you to play games that's more pay to win and more ads so they can make more money. They don't care much about users anymore like in 2009 because they want you to play there games that's pay to win games and games with too many ads.
Since I have flashpoint on my computer, I can still play those good old Angry Birds flash games like Chrome, Vuela Tazos and More! I'm totally grateful for those nostalgic Flash Angry Birds games...

@@chadmann2724 its an archive of prematurely loaded .swfs of flash games / animations in an auto launching flash player, full of content that was saved a couple years back before the expiration of Adobe Flash, its really good and useful search it up

It's like how Steam will (try to) run any game you tell it to, load anything it needs to load to run, usually doesn't need help, etc., just with extra support in case the infrastructure the game needed went down at some point. Also runs other types of games like Java games, Popcap games, Shockwave games, Unity Webplayer games, and so on.
It was the first game on my first mobile device - a tablet. Didn't know about Google Play, so this was the only game I played for a large period of time. It was amazing.
But this game was literally EVERYONE'S childhood....

And if I recall correctly, when they announced the revival of the classic back in 2021 they were also planning on bringing back other classics like seasons. I’m guessing this means we’re not getting those anymore if the classic was “too successful”. Really disappointed with Rovio for this
I still have angry birds seasons... I used to play AB Space and Rio as well.. Now this happens... My best advice is just not downloading the other games.
@@judesdominoes Oh you can bet your sweet bippy I won’t be installing any of Rovio’s current or future games. Seasons was what I was most excited for and now that’s clearly not happening. I actually can reinstall it since I’ve had it in the past, but the fact that a lot of the original levels like ham o ween, season’s greedings, and year of the dragon are locked behind coin purchases now really pisses me off

As much as it’s frustrating that they’re doing this AGAIN, I can only hope that they will eventually come to their senses since they should already KNOW none of their fans wanted them to get rid of the games that made them what they are.

I also hate mobile games on Play Store. I made games that has zero ads and micro transaction and I did that because Angry Bird inspired me.
My childhood, The best games I played in my entire life! I remember playing it on my phone and psp back then with my sister. We got s PC and install Angry Bird and we got an unspeakable amount of joy playing it.
I remember watching trailers, fan animation (Are u familiar with Angry Bird that has Super Mario animation? Yes I watched it)
And it inspires me to be a mobile game developer. Shame on the Rovio for taking this down. They should be ashamed of doing this

As an Apple user, at least I still have the opportunity to play it, yet this is still a major L. I LOVED Angry Birds so much, and I still have a piece of heart of it even to this day as a grown teen. Another good thing is that I have the trilogy for the Xbox, but IT IS NOT THE SAME as the original mobile game. I personally like some of the other games like Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars, but it's not like the og, which explains the situation with newer games. But it seems like the legend is actually dying.

These are all things android can do that iOS can't. I hope you realize that iOS sucks and that you regret you brought a device that runs on iOS.

That only shows how shady the mobile market is. They promote knockoffs to popular series, half-baked products, tons of microtransactions, and ads over new and exciting ways to play. And all of this is because people agreed on it.
I dont understand how Rovio dont understand that we dont enjoy their current modern games and we want all the classics back. The old games were so simple, bird with a power or different ability depending the game and you would slingshot it but now its all some Candy crush rip offs with angry bird characters with their horrible new designs. They dont seem to realise with the old games back they are gonna get more fans back and way more money.
Rivo did an absolutely amazing job on the 2 Angry Birds Movies, what absolutely incredible job with the voice actors for voicing my favourite character. But now, another film is coming your way, we are adapting the episode Rock On from Angry Bird Stella and turning into a Live Concert for angry birds Stella fans to see

This is something that no one wanted to happen. It is pretty sad for people who didn't get to download it before it was unlisted. Im at least grateful that I still have it on my phone, and im able to play it.

They can't stop me. I still play it on Android in offline mode with all the different themes. It's just called "Angry Birds" and I will never delete it.
I grew up on this me 5-12 year old life was based around this i have oodles and oodles of their toys and i still play around with them and create things. I loved this game and when it left in 2017/18 i was ruined i gave it up in 2016 due to finding other games like minecraft and i came back a few years later and was devastated I still remember playing levels like reds mighty feathers and the electric/shockwave bomb levels and angry birds rio. my personal favorite moment was reds mighty feathers when it was like bad piggies i loved those my life shaped around it and still reflects it. to see MAJOR part of my childhood come and go and then come and go again really ruins me (oh did i mention that thats half my life yes im young i know)

This is indeed a sad day. Though, since 2021, I could never find my favorite AB game, AB Star Wars 2, it’s a shame that the OG is getting removed because they want people to see their new stuff.
I uploaded a video of getting Angry Birds before its deletion tomorrow, just in time. It was a part of my childhood and something I really enjoyed, enough for it to be nostalgic. I played 1.6.3 and still have that version today, back when Angry Birds was still good. The remake is surprisingly not that bad at all, except it’s too popular for Rovio, despite being named “AB”. So once again, they basically want to disown one of the few mobile phone/tablet games I actually enjoyed (I usually only like console games). This is very disappointing news to hear. I want nothing to do with their “free to play” trash, and it’s sad seeing Angry Birds fall again.
Well, this is sad. But at least we still have the Netflix show and the movies

@@Inquisitorsteve2 Considering they are just getting rid of everything they are no longer continuing, I feel like yes, they ARE trying to get themselves bankrupt.
I think reason they doing is because the mobile landscape no longer made original idea and creatively, now it made by greedy companies who just want to made a provide in mobile gaming. Rovio sadly, one of them, reach is kinda sad right now. 😢

Angry birds peaked with "EPIC", "Toons" and "Stella" for me

What happened to Angry Birds? Well, all the Piggy, Bird, Eagle, and Golden Island birds have gone to get attended in group therapy. While the Bad Piggies ended up living in a farm.

Angry birds pioneered mobile phone games. It was back then when mobile gaming was a thing with no pay-to-win and annoying ads. Just fun.
