This area is well known to my partner and me. We have walked the long garden at Caserta and enjoyed the magnificent English Garden at the top. On the hill above is Caserta-Vecchia, with its ancient cathedral; and with wonderful pizzerias perched on the cliff-edge, from where you can look down over the plain toward Vesuvius. At night, it is as though a sack of jewels has been tipped onto the vast plain. Subiaco and Tivoli are both well worth visiting: the former as the first Monastery of the Benedictine Order of Monks; whilst Tivoli has three major gardens. Thank you for this wonderful nostalgic trip!
Compliments to the authors and speakerman of this film. It`s the edgest near excellence, never seen such a premium tube ! THIS is absolutely more exciting than 100 Oscars of the accademy . Thanx for being us, the pubblic, awarded by your wonderful job. Many greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina .

Stunningly beautiful aerial scenes and enlightening documentary! Thank you for sharing.
What amazing video, didn't know half of this existed and I've been to Rome 3 times. Maybe because Italy has such a splendid history the spans more than 2500 years but they barely upkeep and promote so many amazing attractions. The VIlla Aldobrandi and Caserta would be major tourists attractions in any other European country, massive upkeep and tourist experience, in Italy they look neglected and not even significant tourist attractions. Even Monte Cassion Abby, should much more famous, for it's beauty, location, history incuding in WW2.
It was the Poles who conquered the Monte Cassino monastery. 3,000 Poles were wounded in this battle, and 1,000 were killed and buried next to the Monte Cassino monastry.
Very good video! Thank you! I like it when the history is included in a film like this one! Makes it much more lively and understandable! Thanks again!
The video is beautiful, but I can't agree with you not mentioning that Monte Cassino was won over thanks to the Polish soldiers. There is a huge cementary just next to the convent where 1070 Polish soldiers that fought for the convent lie.
You didn't mention that the builder of Caserta (Charles III of Spain) also built the Royal Palace in Madrid and was also the King of Naples and Sicily.
Just a note, Cassino was not used as a strong point until after the allies did their massive and utterly ineffective air raid that reduced it to ruins. Then the paratroopers occupied the ruins turning it into a fortress. Prior to that the Germans evacuated all the monks and the priceless treasures to the Vatican using needed supply trucks and in a weird quirk, every single piece and treasure, including the Italian National Art Collection was accounted for with nothing being stolen or destroyed despite allied air attacks.

The biggest building ever constructed in the Roman Empire is not the coliseum. It’s the Circus Maximus which is now almost completely lost. It could have contained 250000 thousands people so can be considered the biggest vinu ever
Too bad there was nothing said about II Vittoriano. I know it has bad reputation among the natives but the building is still astonishing and can't be simply ignored on the whole landscape of the city.
@@JoyJoy-ge4ce Il Vittoriano, not Il Vittoriale.... it's the huge white marble monument near the roman forum (and partailly covering it!!!) built between the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th for willing of Savoia faminy, the italain royal family. Later entitled to "Milite ignoto" - "the unknows soldier", in memory of the victims of WW I. This building has been always matter of discussion, its architecture does not fit well with surrounding ancient monuments and overall style of the city. Furthermore it's probably covering other ancient roman biuldings.
very good work - only minor historical mistake. they germans did not use it under world war 2 untill after the allied had bombed it. otherwise i love your world from above.
That really is one of the most banal commentaries I have ever listened too. Also inaccurate and poorly read. The commentary was marched by equally incompetent direction....... What a waste of lovely locations.
I scanned down the list of comments to see if anyone else had the same reaction I've had to this and other videos in this series. The scenery is gorgeous, but the voice-over is painfully pedestrian. Actaeon, having become a stag, is not devoured by wolves; he's attacked by his own hunting dogs. Does no one edit these texts before publication?

True! Rome is eternal.
The architect of the Caserta Palace was VANVITELLI not Vantivelli! His father was the Dutch painter Van Wittell Italianised as Vanvitelli.
Been there 4 times ... still wanna return! SOOOO MESMERIZING!! 😍

Sounds a lot like Antonio Vivaldi but is probably a modern imitation of baroque musical style.

Il Vittoriale isn't here, but in Northern Italy close to Garda Lake, full of beautiful ancient and important palaces or villas
