What's up guys, I am Pheonixmaster1 and welcome to my Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield video for Nintendo Switch.
Leon has 3 unique battles with some variation to his team. You could face him as a Champion during the story, then you can invite him for a rematch in the Champion and finally, you could challenge him in Battle Tower.
The Battle of Leon from Battle Tower, I have showcased is from the Master Ball Tier. You battle him at the end of each tier and he does have some dialogue differences between battles but I figured having Master Tier as his main Battle Tower Battle would be more appropriate as he has a wider pool of Pokemon and sets he can surprise you with.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Game Info:
Begin your adventure as a Pokémon Trainer by choosing one of three new partner Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Then embark on a journey in the new Galar region, where you’ll challenge the troublemakers of Team Yell while unraveling the mystery behind the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta! Explore the Wild Area, a vast expanse of land where the player can freely control the camera. Team up with three other players locally or online in the new multiplayer co-op Max Raid Battles* in which players will face off against gigantic and super-strong Pokémon known as Dynamax Pokémon.
Certain Pokémon can even Gigantamax to gain a new look and a powerful set of G-Max moves. But there’s more to being a champion than honing your battle skills: you can pick your own clothes and get a new hairdo while visiting the stores in town, so you can be the Trainer you want to be. Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter newly discovered Pokémon as well as familiar ones that will look a little different in their new Galarian forms! And for another way to level up your Pokémon, assign them, Poké Jobs, to complete. You can even play with your Pokémon in Pokémon Camp, just for fun!

How does it triggered ? I tried searching vids of people bringing it, but I got nothing.
NoIdentity ah, i believe if you add Eternatus right after catching it. then have it on your team /through out/ the champion cup, Leon will trigger the special dialogue.

Now in the post game he doesn't even wear it. A sign that he is no longer "king" since his champion title was dethroned.

I love Leon as a character. I certainly wish the battles were harder, but I really liked how he was written, and I actually really like his look. But to each their own, im cool if not everyone likes him.

ECGaming _ shield is my first pokemon game, and I beat him first try, which is also funny because I had a terrible time with Raihan
Naoko Marie Yeah same I beat him the first try too but use tons of potions and revive cause I really panicking of what I should do.
For raihan it is really hard as well cause I can’t find a type advantage in my team and all my fairy and dragon types are so weak.
Pokemon black was my first game then i played every pokemon game that came after that
I just don't like how the did the mismatched facial hair color thing with Leon. It irks me.
Other than that, I love him.

Actually now the trainer ages have increased from 10 to 14-15
And Leon beat the Gym challenge when he was 10 and maintaining a status as champion for 10 years!

@@littlecookiec3719 Stealth rocks is a famous competitive move which stays at the battle field and damage the enemies whenever they switch in the basis of how weak they are to rock,in case of charizard he takes 50% of his health when enters the field
Cinderace can be op bc he has court change which changes effects like if the enemy have light screen or something bam ur team has it so cinderace is a good starter, especially in shield if u choose it in sword the rock gym exist so it can one shot it but shield has the ice gym. But the ice gym has Lapras so it’s not a full sweep. At least it wasn’t for me

As much as I love him, Leon's outfit makes him look like a recently divorced dad who's going through a breakup.
The cape makes it really gaudy. His Champion outfit doesn't look so bad once he takes the cape off.

You can't have the legendary dog at this point unless someone trades it to you. The dogs are accessible through a post game quest where you start in the Slumbering Wield. Also #GrookyGang

They're rivals though so that's why they are kind of angry about beating Leon because they really wanted to be the champion. I would be proud of my rival if he or she managed to be champion one day. I'd probably cry if I were one of them because I wouldn't think the unbeatable Leon would eventually be beaten by a kid.

Don’t see many people referencing Leon’s SnapBack having a crown on it to match the cape. I like his costume a lot, I’d say he’s top 3 out of all champions.
That means that at the end of the fight when he tosses the cap away, he decrowns himself because hes no longer the champion or the king of the galar region

His character grew on me. I like him. But it was annoying listening 1000 times that he was the undefeated champion.
To be fair, wouldn't you be proud to have an undefeated prodigy as your Champion? As far as we know, no other trainer has this status. It's very similar to the anime where Cynthia and Diantha are treated with admiration and respect, drawing so much attention to the point where Diantha in particular wears disguises to avoid being seen in public.
But yeah, I can see why people get annoyed by this.

When you're undefeated and always winning so much, nothing is a greater buzzkill than suddenly remembering the feeling of defeat. Especially if it's to the same person.

Man I love the Leon fight even if it was easy just because of how much build up there was the entire game everyone said how he could be beaten it’s a shame the games are so easy then it could’ve easily been the best champion battle of all time his Pokémon are so powerful

Fun Fact: If we don't count Red, Leon may be the strongest Champion CANONICALLY(If I don't put canonically and cap it I'll get a billion angry Cynthia fans on my back)! He's the only trainer to of ever tire a Legendary Pokemon of Eternatus' status, true he used his entire team and he didn't beat it, but he still tired it out a bit, that's more power than I've seen any other Champion(Except Red) do, plus Leon couldn't even Dynamax/Gigantamax that battle.
Eternatus wasn't tired.

Which means: Deoxys confirmed for SW/SH
Like hes like the starter that lean chooses you always have a disadvantage with your starter choice
My favourite champion along with Kukui. I can't express with words how mucho I like him.

Also, I rarely fangirl over Pokemon characters (Professor Kukui is one of the rare exceptions), but damn I love Leon. And his glow up after he loses the championship is DIVINE.
The fact Leon goes down to 5 pokemon in the tournament rematch disappoints me greatly
At least he has the three starter groups in the battle tower, fighting him in doubles was super close at times
