He only talks about bringing people together but he doesn't act. In my opinion Niantic has sacrificed their aim to earn more money with a game that can be played from at home. Pokémon Go has been taken over by people who are not at all interested in a real world metaverse. The one and only interest of the great majority of PoGo players is to be able to play without needing to socialize. Even the slightest movement of Niantic to make playing from home less attractive triggers massive protest. That's why Niantic doesn't dare returning Pokémon Go to a social game. Still the remote raid passes are not more expensive than the normal pass, in my opinion they should cost at least 200. The year 2020 was the best year for earning money with Pokémon Go because the remote passes were invented. This shows that Niantic earns much more money with a game that is played from at home. The new game Pikmin Bloom is played while moving but it is a typical single-player-game. Niantic Peridot will finally be a game that always run in AR-mode, but also this game will mainly be played alone. To create a real world metaverse, an attractive Multiplayer-AR-game had to be invented, that brings people together and that is especially attractive for people from 15 to 30yo, because this is the age group with quite lose familiar bonds that is interested in socialising. But Pikmin Bloom is a fitness app for seniors and PoGo and Peridot are / will be mainly attractive for parents playing with their children. Those are not the social groups that are typically interested in free socialising. More than one year ago in april 2021 Niantic released the demo of an AR-multiplayer called "Urban Legends" using 5G technology. More than one year later there is no newer information about this and there are no announcements that Niantic's planet scale AR alliance with telcos has in any way reached anything. Last week Niantic organized a Lightship summit - a 5G Multiplayer game was according to all media reports no topic. So I don't see that Niantic does anything to create a real world metaverse, because I can't see the development of an attractive AR-multiplayer game.

John Hanke is the master of bugs. Never let him manage a software project again.

Let me ask you, is John Hanke the project manager for the GO Battle League?

@@acetrainerarjun821 No, he is the CEO of Niantic. He had the great idea of Pokemon Go, but he was never interested in the game itself (he even barely played it) and this is the reason, the game never tapped its full potential. And of course as a CEO he also is responsible for the uncountable bugs, mistakes and problems Pokemon Go had (remember that Ninatic has all the money it needs to make and test good software, there is no excuse)
Pokemon Go is nice, but not nearly as good as it could have been. A missed once in a lifetime opportunity. And for that I blame John Hanke.
