I really like these staterooms and the built-in storage. Modern, clean lines and designs. I realize other cruisers really prefer the more traditional designs/wood look - it's great that both are available! Happy Sailing, @FraserAtSea!
@@NextWaveCruising I don't like the upper level cabins because they start to look almost monotone when larger and need more color and contrast. It's not a modern vs. traditional issue I have with them more than a limited color palette and lack of contrast. I think the original furnishings in the suites of the Solstice class feel more luxurious. And darker or lighter is a style, I don't feel lighter is necessarily more modern. There are a lot of light colored office buildings designed 30 years ago. Some of this style feels trendy to me.
The Retreat Deck on the Ascent is so spacious - I loved all the separated areas for groups/friends to spend their time. Plenty of shade along with the sunny area - and it's beautiful.
