Sounds like a cruise where you lost weight, since all the deserts were “Meh” and few of the meals were outstanding. We have Oceania cruise for Asia next, then Ascent for Mediterranean cruise in September. I guess the food is as expected. We will be sailing The Retreat, which has the private dining room.
I have heard great things about the food on Oceania ships, so hopefully that's amazing! We also heard from a lot of people that the retreat was an overall better experience, both service and quality wise, so maybe that is the way to go!!
We did not eat at Eden, but we did have a few drinks at the bar, they were good but pretty expensive, even on the drink package! We hope to try Eden for lunch or dinner the next time we are on an Edge class ship!

We haven't sailed on Apex, but the Ascent was amazing! If you are going solo, there are a lot of chances to meet other solo sailors too! They have meet and greets the first day or two! We also like to join facebook groups related to both the ship and specific date of our sailing, helps to get you introduced to some of the others going at the same time as you!
@@TheSavorySuitcase I did a 12-night cruise but didn't go to a few mainly because they had no tables left. I did go to the steakhouse though and it was amazing. We didn't have a suite so Blu wasn't visited either. But it would be great to have been able to go to them all.
