For 12 years, I've hosted a radio show titled "That Show with (my real name)," having no idea until today this program existed. I laughed while listening Jim Perry do the intro because he made the same mistake every announcer I've ever had voice an intro for my program made: failing to understand that the title only works if delivered without pausing, and somewhat dismissively.
It's sad. Joan introduces Johnny as her very close friend then 19 years later he would cut her out of his life over her getting her own late night show without "asking" his permission. I always felt Carson was petty about it. Sure, Joan could have handled it differently, but for Carson to never talk to Joan for the rest of his life, I feel taints his memory.
Agree. The narcissists and callous people ruin everything and hurt kind, accepting people, like Joan. Unfortunately Hollywood has shown its true colors. Joan seems like one of the rare gems who did not compromise her morals.
