  • This demonstration shows the wiring of a surface door contact, ideal if an existing contact has stopped working, has been damaged or just painted over too many times.
Regional variations I find different names for End of line resistors more common EOL and FSL.
NOTE: This should only be carried if you DO NOT have a current warranty or maintenance contract as you could breach your agreement or render your warrany invalid.

    Hi Dannie,
I have a question i hope you can help me with.
I have an optima panel and need to change the contact due to a replacement door.
The contact is on the same loop as the Zone 1 motion sensor.
Will the process in the video apply to my system?
    Thank you
    Liam

If the sensor has been damaged how do you wire it for bypass

      Hi.
There should! be no power at the contact, and assuming you have standard cable you should have red, black, blue, yellow, green and white on a six core cable.
so chances are the circuit is red and black or blue and yellow or green and white as pairs. simple test is start to set your alarm and short a pair as above and see if zone goes clear as a zone led will stay lit on the display of the as long as there is a fault on the zone.

Thanks ill try that. By shorting a circuit do u mean just connect two wires together then set the alarm
