- 2022 version of this Inverter AC has a 7kg lighter outdoor and 2kg lighter indoor unit. This is an extremely unethical practice by @KenwoodPakistanOfficial as they did not change the model number when making these changes to the unit.

bhai jan there is nothing new in this video most companies like Orient, Kenwood, Dawlance and PEL get their AC from AUX. see their remotes and outside units hardly any difference.

Owais you’re doing a bloody great job, I got this in early Feb this year based on your recommendation and guess what? It didn’t work a single day, the inner coil was faulty, so I had to call KENWOOD helpline and ask them to install a new coil in my brand new unit AC. God knows how screwed up our industry is
I have been to Midea factory at Shunde Guangdong and let me tell you they have an assembly line for every known brand in the world. If you want a Owais brand AC they will make one for you. As long as you are willing to buy a few containers they are happy to deal with you.
Our importers tend to choose the cheapest models available so that they can squeeze out maximum profits. Every unit should be tested by the Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research PCSIR because they have the tools and the knowledge to categorize equipment based on performance.
The problem with inverters are their expensive PCB cards. This particular model will become obsolete in 2023, although the newer one might have the same model number but the internals are modified which makes it a nightmare to find parts and repair these.
what brand and a specific AC model do you recommend in 2024 then in terms of quality ? I’m planning on buying one but its so confusing.

I was about to buy Kenwood 1838s esmart again but due to these issues i hv ended up buying TCL T5 Smart 1.5 … using it since a week and currently am satisfied… its literally a great unit

Yes you right . I bought kenwood last year July 2021 model e2438. It says 75% saving. Shop keeper said t3 compressor. But when I check the sticker on inner it says t1. I called him and asked again he said no it’s t3. I felt that it was misunderstood by my side.Now after watching you video I again checked it it is true t1 and they made a fraud by changing it and keeping the same model no intact.

I bought this model on 19 March 2022 and it was not available in the market and Allah swt helped me to find it and it was one of the last few remaining pieces available. It cost me 158K. Alhumdolilah I am saved from this scam and lesson learnt as well. Jazak Allah Khair Owais Bhai

I bought 1838 on your recommendation in 2021. Its very good and on 26 degree only 400-450 watts electricity usage . But will not recomend to my friends bin 2022

I am a great fan of Kenwood products and all my room ACd see of Kenwood. Bought in 2018 esmart ones. Another thing want to highlight about Kenwood is I had an issue with my AC called the company they sent a tech who came and told me get it cleaned I said do if he gave me a very strange reply we don't do service or repair just parts get it done from market....never in life had this with any brand but that what I had to face. But Thank you for the info and advice.
Thanks Owais for this video. I bought kenwood 1838 S purely on your recommendation in January 2022 and luckily I got an old one. But this is total bullshit by Kenwood. Now a days this model sold in black. Can you please give disclaimer on your old video where you recommend this model.
Syed Awais Bhai, one thing needs to be cleared here and that is "Compressor Type" no company except Panasonic (18WKF-9) is offering Air Conditioner with T3 Compressor, they are not even mentioning it either on their product or in the website.When you see T3 Climate or T3 Tropicalized on any Air conditioner (as most of the Brands doing in Pakistan) it doesn't mean that the Air Conditioner has T3 Compressor in it,it's about making consumers fool.
Type-T3 ,T3 Climate,T3 Tropicalized has nothing to do with T3 Compressor.

Thank you very much for this update. In 2020 and 21, at least half a dozen friends bought this AC, which I recommended to them on your recommendation. But now I won't be recommending this AC to anyone after this eyeopening update. In fact I was planning to buy two ACs off-seaon, but even that's now off the table. What options buyers have after this deceit?
It is true, I went to purchase Inverter Ac during March 2022, shop owner has recommended me this model, at shop when I tried to inspect and unboxed it, compressor was T1, the only thing I was after is T3 Compressor, I was shocked to see this as the company advertise this model with T3 compressor, It is a scam by the company , they must be dragged into consumer court for this fraud.

If % increase in power consumption (kilowatts or amps) is greater than % increase in cooling capacity (or heating capacity), then EER rating will go down.
EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) = Cooling capacity in BTU/hr divided by Power consumption in Watts. So an 18,000 BTU/hr (1.5 ton) air conditioner which uses 2,420 Watts (11 amps x 220 volts) would have EER of 7.438 (18,000/2,420). Higher EER number means better/more efficient air conditioner.

yes you can it's very easy but you need a pressure washer and ac cleaning bag.Mein khud 3 saal se apne ghar ke saare ac service kr raha hun aur mene ye sab UA-cam se aur apne experience se seekha hai.Even ke washing bag yahan Pakistan me proper size ka nhi mil raha tha aur ali express pr ache wale bag kaafi mehnge thei tu mene khud se bana lia😀😃

I think since imported products are getting expensive day by day, we should opt for local companies such as PEL, Dawlance, etc.
They are just assemblers like Kenwood Pakistan.

I just buy this model 1838 a week back there is same weight difference and not working well and consuming more electric power as compared to your recommendations. We don't know weather that is 5 DC or not
Very bad experience of KENWOOD
I bout 4 unit at our factory at sadiqabad last year those all are T1 compressors and are not working properly . Two of those cards are burnt and there is no claim accepted by the supplier

Thanks to Almighty and your timely vedio as I was about to buy it anytime this week. Due to social media hype it's priced at 175k to 177k which is extremely high and most of the times u will not be able to secure your order. The lawyers community should drag these morons to consumer court as it's a kind of day light robbery. One needs to check and buy stuff with eyes wide open especially all the top tier models cost more than 100k these days.
To be honest the Brand Name and Model no etc for electronics have a little meaning in PK. Manufacturers who are essentially white label importers play fast and loose with brand names, and put as many stars and stuff on packaging since no one is going to check their claims, so even if the label says T3 compressor its hard to check their claims. Basically every time you buy something its a roll of dice one product might be excellent and next one a complete piece of crap. What we really need is an independent testing lab, not expecting UL but anything is better than what we have now.
T3 is good if you live in Thar but if not then no use of spending that much money as T3 compressor will work fine in heat but also take in greater electricity to run. I can only suggest if you want to run in hot place to buy solar inverter to get required voltages during hot summer days as grid is inefficient.
In my view, weight is not the only indicator of performance. Plz also compare in terms of dimensions (height width), air throw, rated power input output etc. Waiting for a detailed comparison on the same

Weight is huge indicator of how quickly heat transfer can take place, slower heat transfer = more energy consumption
Weight is not a good indicator of quality of products but for some items it is. This is one of them specially the difference is significant and both indoor and outdoor units weigh less so its likely the coils, it could be that they reduced the size of evaporator and condenser coils or switched the material as copper is heavier than aluminium. Its generally a trade-off of efficiency you could get away with smaller coils by increasing the fan speed for same Rating(but with higher electricity consumption). As for the company behind Kenwood brand in PK, they started as a glorified dealer so they behave the same ie they will sell you what ever they could buy the cheapest that week and say its the best there is.
@@bahmad5811 yes weight could not be an only issue but its straight forward written that its T1 now. For other performances like electric efficiency and cooling, one have ti buy and check the quality with opinion from an expert
@@syedowaisali well said slower heat transfer = more energy consumption but please also consider this. Number of coils, surface area of heat exchanger, guage of heat exchanger metal. Thicker the heat exchanger metal, more weight but slower heat dissipation.

Really appreciated your honest videos and guidance for us all. Surely this is a result of being a victim of deceit, misguidance and frustration that u mustve faced like many of us, especially foreign returns who're newbies to this corrupt system. So a heartfelt thanks from my side.
Would just like to point out that one thing missing from ur videos are alternatives or 2nd or 3rd best choices.
For example, if the best ac in pakistan (Kenwood Esmart + 1838s) is not the best anymore then which is the best 2nd and 3rd option.
Also in ur AC award video, which was really good btw, you gave nominees but did not mention runners ups or, like i said 2nd or 3rd option.
Since the purpose of these videos is to make it easy for ur viewers to make a decision and not be defrauded, I would highly recommend that u make a blog or video in which based on the 7 flags you mentioned in ur other video to check before getting an ac, make recommendations of the top 5 AC alternatives of Kenwood 1838s.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. Will incorporate this in 2023 Awards video. My assumption was that people could look up the nominees and find the best model for their needs. For example not everyone wants WiFi features so would like to save some money there. For some, this maybe an essential feature. Some goes for power limit/gen mode feature, color, remote control quality, etc etc.
Ranking ACs based on my own preferences is a difficult job because everyone has different priorities but I’m still going to look into how I can incorporate this and make it easier

But I guess, it has been established that KW 1838s is the benchmark when it comes to buying the best ac, so my point was only referring to helping those that who wish to buy KW 1838s but won't cause of the fear of getting defrauded. So which is the closest in terms of specs, performance and elec savings to KW.
On a side note, I am a overseas Pakistani too, returned 1 year ago and have been going thru the same struggles of navigating my way thru this corrupt and selfish system. I want to share my experience with TCL t3 pro. I bought 2 ton AC and it has a manufacturing defect in it. after multiple visits by the technical teams they just couldn't get it to work. outdoor unit was peaking at 6 ampers when it should have reached 12 amperes. the temperature difference between inlet and outlet air flow was a paltry 10°C when it should be more than 20°C. finally TCL recalled the unit, admitted the fault and had to take permission from TCL CHINA to replace outdoor with a brand new piece. am still waiting on TCL to send me the same.
Yes, this is right. They provided T1 compressor last year.
Product catalogs of many companies say in minor hard to read footnote that company reserves the right to change specifications without any prior notice anytime.
Read the fine print or spec sheet on both indoor and outdoor units before buying.

Great update I believe mostly newer models tend to get smaller lighter and more smarter Iam not advocating the supplier but option was to verify old against new with respect to performance and if there are any improvements in features
I feel you are being bit harsh for example if toyota changes its brake design to ventilated disc he will not change the Modle Name the changes will appear in spec
In your initial or future reviews clarify that these are specs and consumsers should confirm don’t take it as you have misled the viewrs and suppliers are deciving you
