Thanks for the "How To" video. I have a 2007 V Star 650. I'm not much of a mechanic but with todays economy, I'm gonna start doing some of my own work on my bike. The video really helped. Thanks again. Ride Safe!
Very well put together video. I can definitely change spark plugs, but it's nice to find a video like this that shows the gap and torque required as well. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe everyone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post your videos, I have a 2002 custom, I learn so much from you, you're my "go to guy" when I need anything related to my bike!
Hi Roger, happy to hear that the vids are helping you out.sorry I don't have a video on the pickup coil, never had to deal with that one. Not sure about that one.
Congrats on your bike, the V-star is an awesome bike. No engine upgrades, Vance & Hines pipes with K&N air filter and re-jetted carbs. The floor boards are stock on the Classic model and I made my own high way pegs for them. I did a How-to video on those as well. Stay safe... Cheers!
Great videos brother, but you forgot the most important thing to use on spark plugs that go into aluminum heads-----anti-Seize compound. Keep up the vids, they are very helpful.
Thank you, the connections should be behind the battery cover on the left side of the bike, you could also check the bulbs as well they might be loose. Electrical can be a tricky thing, I wish you luck. Ride safe.
Your plugs look like they are exposed. On the 1100 there appears to be covers....so it's probably slightly different. In either case it's folks like you that educate folks like me. Keep it up!
That's a great question, I really don't know much on Iridium, but I found out this much on line. " On an unmodified car that specifies normal plugs, platinum or iridium plugs won't make much of a difference apart from cost; I'd stick with the manufacturer's recommendation and change the plugs as per schedule. On an engine that has been modified with higher compression or more boost, it might be worth springing for platinum or iridium plugs. hope this helps out. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I Knew how to do it but wanted to do a check jussssttt to make sure. The torque info was really helpful. A minor overlook on my part and glad I watched now!
thanks for the video , I have a very similar v650 but is 2008 , I think is the same . I am new biker and my bike don't want to start at all in cold , I check gas , air filter , battery , I will check Spark plugs and coil , but I don't know what to look for . when I take out the spark plug out should it be wet or dry ? any advice before I call the dealer . I am low budget right now . thank you !
Good video man. I had a quick question. I'm a beginner to bikes, and was wondering where the wiring connections are. My headlight and panel light are flickering and someone suggested that I need to tighten my connections.
Hey, man great video, I've got a 2008 V Star XVS 650 A classic, that I have had in storage for a while. I am now going to check the plugs and see how they look as per your video. Great looking helmet by the way !!!! Cheers, Patrick
BTW, I have never subscribed to any UA-cam channels, but I just busted my ch**ry and did it on your feed. I ride a 2009 V Star 650 Silverado. I love it for just running little errands around town. Again, thanks and ride safe.
friggin beautiful sounding bike. I just picked up my first bike... '00 650 with hard krome slash cuts. Gonna change the plugs, oil etc... and learn how to ride!
Nice bike l have a 2007 thanks for all of the tips just had it serviced plus cabs cleaned they charge me 585.00 to do that job. L will do it my self thanks too you.
Been watching your videos for quite sometime now, have been very helpful with helping me maintain my v star 650. You make great videos. I would just like to know what brand of white wall tires you have on your bike ? Thanks.
The front tire is a Dunlop Cruisemax Cruiser White Wall 130/90-16, and the rear tire is a Dunlop K-555 OEM White Wall 170/80 H15. Thanks for sticking with George and watching the vids, that's awesome. Cheers!
Bernbo, where did you get that helmet. It's the coolest one I've ever seen. Also, thank you for your V Star videos. I think I've seen every vid on the 650 ever made (I own one, a '98) and yours are the best and most entertaining. Thank you. PS, you just GOTTA tell me who makes that helmet!!!
Hey brother I just got my first bike it is also a 2000 vstar 650 custom.... Your bike is sweet... Have you done any mod's or upgrades to the engine? what pipes are those? Cobra pipes came on mine... also nice DIY videos I used your oil change one already gonna change the plugs in mine too ordering them now...
Thanks for the gr8 video. How remove the spark plug caps though? I am yanking them and they seems to hold up pretty good. Is there a trick to twist an then pull them? Please help.
+Bernbo - Sounds good. My 2005 F150 had a 2-piece plug that would seize itself in the block w/ carbon buildup - then break in half when trying to pull them out. Not fun - sh!tty design. So they recommend to add a thin layer of anti-seize to prevent future breaks. Gonna tackle changing oil/brake fluid this weekend. I just picked up a 2005 Vstar Classic w/ 5K - so I'm sure those need to be looked at. Rear Gear should be kosher - as you stated it's at about 16K. Keep the vids coming - and F#ck your noisy neighbor!
Not sure if it's mandatory, but I have always used the NGK plugs as recommended in the Yamaha manual. You are probably fine with the champions, but like you said it's a it's a cheap change out to switch back, piece of mind if anything. Cheers bro.
Just Subscribed!, I bought the same bike 650 Vstar it's fuel injected. Question 1. Can you use a regular spark plug socket and ratchet or should you use the one provided in kit like you used? Last question. I just bought the bike, The guy told me it has old gas in it. On deceleration it backfires. Sounds like a Harley LOL But it's running lean. i have got half of the old gas out, Put 80 miles on it. Little over half a tank I believe so I filled it with 87 obtain. Will it be ok to ride it like this until I get all the old gas out? With it backfiring out pipes on deceleration? then put in new plugs? Or should I drain the tank. Being fuel injected I don't know how to drain tank. Love your videos!
Hi hyungs, You could probably use a regular spark plug socket & ratchet, if not just use the one that Yamaha supplied in the tool kit. As for the gas you could just siphon out the old gas and top it up with fresh gas. Does the bike still have the stock exhaust or an aftermarket exhaust system, I know when I changed the pipes on my bike I had big pops & bangs on deceleration, so I had to get the carbs rejetted and that solved the problem. You may want to take it in to your local mechanic and get a spring tune up to get the fuel to air mixture just right. Hope this helps you out, thanks for the Sub thanks for watching & Takeiteass!
@73FIREful I think you clean and gap them every 7000 km and replace them every 13,000 km, but for what its worth if you got them out to clean and gap them, for 7 or 8 bucks you can put a set of new plugs in.
Hey bernbo, I know this has nothing to do with the vid but does my v star 650 suppose to have a little play in the clutch lever? I can't seem to get use to it. Took it out for a spin and killed it atleast 20 times on hills and taking off. It seems to grab only when I let it all the way out. Everything I've ridden grabs between 1/2 to 3/4 when I let off. When I get it going I love it but hate coming to a stop light.lol Any help would be much appreciated.
@syyyo It sounds like you need to adjust it, you should have a little play in the clutch lever 1/8 in or a the thickness of a quarter, as long as it is not tight. Check out my "Before and after Show Chrome lever install" video it show what I mean. Hope this helps you out.
thank you for the videos got a 2011 650 just wondering what kind pipe do you have on your bike been thinking of changing out my stock but dont want them to loud waking up the wife a 430 in the morn going to work would not be good lol
I have a set Vance & Hines on the bike, I think they are some of the best sounding pipes out there. Check out this link of my bro and I installing a set on his bike. ua-cam.com/video/-Eq7yZmCXoA/v-deo.html
Hey, thanks for the video. I just bought an 05 650 Silverado and love, love it. But I'm having trouble with the friction zone. I have read about these having a difficult time taking off in first because of it. I'm 4 years exerienced and I'm killing it 50% of the time. I have ordered the Clevver Lever and hope to be able to install it myself. Are you familiar with the install? And what do you think about them? Thanks for any advice you might have. Sharon
Sharon Miller Hi Sharon, congrats on your new bike. Sorry I don't know anything about the Clevver Lever, but I know what you mean about the friction zone being right at the top, it's just something I got used to, haven't had any issues though. Sorry for not being of much help on this.
No problem, Bernbo. It's a clutch lever that is designed to increase the friction zone for slow speed handling. This guy came up with the idea for his own V Star and it worked and now he sells them. The reviews are really good. I practiced a lot today in beautiful Indiana spring weather and am getting better. I guess we can adapt to anything when it comes to doing something we love so much. Thanks for the response! I will keep you in mind if I have other questions. Hope that's cool with you.
I have the same bike but my spark plug cap was loosen and i dont know how to fix it or tighten it..the result is when i put gas to accelerate, it coughs too much(i dont know the exact words but i wish u understand what i mean). Sometimes it backfires on the pipe..help pls
@jesserogers398 thank you, those pipes are the Vance & Hines, they sound incredible. You can ride quite if you goes easy on the throttle and if you want loud you have that as well.
I'm having some difficulties with starting my 07. Battery is good but it won't crank over. No weird noises when trying to start. I think I'm gonna check the plugs
Hi love watching your videos. I have a 2009 vstar 650 love the bike. My question do you get a lot of vibration from when you accerate the bike? Starts right up idels perfect but when i accerate the bike I get a lot of vibration from the motor. New to motorcyles. thank you and ride safe..
withGodallthings777 No I don't really get a lot of vibration on acceleration. Vibration from the motor can be many different things, here are a few things you can check out yourself, proper oil level, clean air filter, proper gap on spark plugs or replace spark plugs. Check engine mounts and make sure they are tight. If the valves have not been adjusted in the last 7000 to 8000 km you may want to take it in to your local bike shop and have the valves adjusted. Hope this helps you out in some way. Cheers
Thanks for the very informative videos !!! Please keep the DIY videos coming ! you are doing a great job ! By the way, you remind me of Clay from Sons of Anarchy hahaha
Hi Bernbo, I saw in one of you videos how u cleaned (polish) your brother rear fender with WD-40 and another solution. I have same sticker on my rear fender and it won't come out the glue after I removed the sticker. Can u please tell me what solution was that?...I mean the one you have used to polish the fender. Many thanks!
This was something my bro had in his garage, here is the link to that product www.prowax.com/waxes/P-38-Q_RV_Boat_Aircraft_Wax.html Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
Hey Adam, That is a Voss non DOT helmet. Check out my AKOURY AK-88 helmet review, that is an awesome low profile DOT approved helmet that does not look like Gazoo. Cheers bro!
Your plugs should be dry not wet, they should have a light tan or grey color to them. It sounds like you may have a problem with the choke if it's a cold start issue. It could be many other things though, you might want to have a mechanic look at it.
@bernbo, Thanks again bro. I adjusted it like you said, at first I had enough play I could stick 5-6 quaters in the gap. It feels better now. As a novice rider, I'm starting to see my motorcycle is like my gf, both require routine mantinence and alot of tlc to function right.lol
I have an unrelated problem but a lot of other seem to have the same problem. The front cylinder on my Vstar 1100 fires perfect but the rear cylinder misses a lot. If I hold my hand behind the exhaust the pressure from the back cylinder is less. There is no black smoke but I can tell there is less power. Thanks in advance if you can help.
+Antonio Santos Hey Antonio check this link out, you may find this helpful rideapart.com/articles/the-basic-motorcycle-toolkit-tools-to-help-get-you-home If you have a fork bag you could store it in there. Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
Not sure, what may be causing that, I looked up some trouble shooting on it and it could be a number of things. Difficult shifting 1 incorrect clutch adjustment 2 incorrect clutch operation 3 bent shift fork shaft 4 damaged shift fork guid 5 bent or damaged shift fork 6 worn gear dogs or slots 7 damaged shift drum grooves. What I would check 1st is you have the proper oil level, being a wet clutch that is important. You may have to take it in to the shop and have them look at it.
I have a 2006 1100, and the wire that comes from the coil to the spark plug came out of the spark plug boot. When I went to get a new one, I noticed that the boot and wire arent sold connected. How do I connect them? The spark plug boot has what looks like a screw pointing at me.
+Darrick Ogg Hey Darrick, the nice thing about the V-stars is they have a low seat height, 27.9 inches with the stock seat, and if you go to an after market seat you can get it even lower. Check out my new seat video right here ua-cam.com/video/U7NJmrcmZaM/v-deo.html. Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
Need your help. Need to know daily and weekly check points. Also I change oil every 5000 miles. Does that sound about right? And what else should be change at that time.
Hi Robert, changing oil every 5000 miles is ok, the manual suggests every 4,400 miles or 7000 km. I do highly recommend picking up a Clymer Manual though, it can save you a lot of money. www.clymer.com/search/?prodtype_ss=Motorcycle+Manuals&make=Yamaha&model=V-Star+650+Classic&year=1998 Hope this helps you out.
Jammin Jimmy Hey Jimmy, this is a cheap wrench but it gets the job done. I'll post a link to it here. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/beam-type-torque-wrench-1-2-in-0588660p.html#.VRNTLvnF9eM Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
I got a question you look like a fairly large guy is the 650 just as good as 1100 I have a 650 I weigh 265 lb I don't have too much of a problem I don't know how much distance there is in the length versus the 1100 but I'm six to am I going to feel about the same on the 1100 as the 650 can I maybe just put extended pegs to see if that helps
Hey Larry, The 1100 has a 64.8" wheelbase and is 96.9" long the 650 has a 64.0" wheelbase and is 96.5" long So they are pretty much the same size bike, the 1100 has quite a bit more power and torque for sure. You may want to put on a set of forward controls to fit the bike to you better. My buddy Paul put a set of 4in forward controls on his 1100 which made a big difference for him, he is 6.4" Hope this helps out. Cheers!
+Paul Perry Hey Paul, the saddle bags don't fit with the solo bag on the bike, it's either the solo bag or the saddle bags which is okay for me. If i'm doing a big trip the bags go back on.
Ok how many miles do you get on it a year? It was a few years ago it got new spark plugs only been around a 1000miles per year the last two years. But iam going to take the bike to work insteed of my car atleast when its nice weather.
@@smartestcrackheadever5517 you can use the one that comes in your tool kit with the bike, or you could pick up am 18mm spark plug socket, that should do you no problem.
Hey Corey Man this could be a number of things, check out this link, it's a great video that may help you out better than I can. ua-cam.com/video/jaSKU2m3qbI/v-deo.html Good luck bro. Cheers!
thanks for the video, I drive a 2007 vstar and I am thankful for your videos
+gotformulalt1 That's awesome, love to hear feed back like this. Cheers!
Thanks for the "How To" video. I have a 2007 V Star 650. I'm not much of a mechanic but with todays economy, I'm gonna start doing some of my own work on my bike. The video really helped. Thanks again. Ride Safe!
That's funny nine years ago talking about how bad the economy is. Huhumph
Very well put together video. I can definitely change spark plugs, but it's nice to find a video like this that shows the gap and torque required as well. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe everyone.
Thanks PJ, Cheers!
Thank you for your kind comments, stay tuned should have some more how-to's up soon. Love SOA great show. Takeiteass!
Thank you for watching, congrats on your V-star, great bikes man. Stay safe out there.
Keep up the vids, they are very helpful.
captainjack5000 Good tip, thanks bro.Cheers!
Spark plugs are next on my list for bike maintenance. Thanks for the vid, bernbo.
Thanks for taking the time to help us out....Keep up the good work.
Keep it up!
Bernbo, your vids are great, appreciate the clear explanation of steps involved! Thanks for taking the time to post and share your expertise.
Thank you for the kind comment, I am happy to hear that some of these videos may be helping someone out. Cheers!
thanks for the video tutorial. Got my vstar in November. Now just waiting for the roads to dry up.
That's a good question I am using the spark plug socket that comes in the tool pouch with the bike, I think it might be an 18mm deep socket.
Cheers!
Right on man, I hear you, anyway we can save a buck. Thank you for watching.
Ride safe.
Great video! LOL your neighbor is trying to outshine you with his V-twin weed wacker!
Thanks for the video clear and to the point..no fluff!😎
Thanks for the video. I Knew how to do it but wanted to do a check jussssttt to make sure. The torque info was really helpful. A minor overlook on my part and glad I watched now!

Right on Patrick, get that baby out and running.
Cheers bro!
cool video, do you have video on how to change the pipes? mine has loud pipes installed and I want to change them back to normal pipes !
@tf4jl21 That's awesome man, I am happy the vids helped you out, it's great to here feedback like that, thank you. Take care and ride safe.
Hey Bernbo. Will you ever post a video on, How to change a fuel (gas) filter on a 2004 yamaha v-star 650? And if so,, that would be great! Thanks!
BTW, I have never subscribed to any UA-cam channels, but I just busted my ch**ry and did it on your feed. I ride a 2009 V Star 650 Silverado. I love it for just running little errands around town.

Awesome PJ thank you for the sub, hope the vids help you out hear and there.
Takeiteass!
A small amount of oil on the new spark plug threads helps a lot.
Good tip
Thanks for the upload. I needed that gap info!
Right on man, thank you for watching.
Thanks man, Not sure what size they are, can't remember my local bike shop did it a couple of years ago.
friggin beautiful sounding bike. I just picked up my first bike... '00 650 with hard krome slash cuts. Gonna change the plugs, oil etc... and learn how to ride!

Thank you, I hope to have another one up soon.
Man thank you. Such a simple thing. Now I know.
Great video bro! I have a 650 Classic myself. What size main jets did you use when you re-jetted the carbs?
Thanks bro, congrats on your first bike, awesome choice! Ride safe.
Excellent video brother thanks. It this plug proceedure the same as on the V-Star 1100?
Thank you, they are Vance & Hines Cruzers.

Thank you for the kind comments. You can I get the helmet from Allforbikers.com these are the smallest DOT beanie helmets out there.
Sorry bro the helmet in this video is a novelty helmet a buddy gave me, it does look cool but I dont recommend it. Not legal hear.
I think it is a VOSS.
Hey brother I just got my first bike it is also a 2000 vstar 650 custom.... Your bike is sweet... Have you done any mod's or upgrades to the engine? what pipes are those? Thank you, not starting 1st thing is the battery, could be so many other things, fuses are another easy thing to check. Cheers!
Thanks for the gr8 video. How remove the spark plug caps though? I am yanking them and they seems to hold up pretty good. Is there a trick to twist an then pull them? Please help.
Hi Chaitanya, there 's no trick to it just pull the them straight off.
Great, helpful video. Thanks.
Anither good one of what I need awesome explanation. You're saving me. Lots of Money. THANKS
Good to hear man.
Thanks Bernbo - awesome vids as usual. Any need for nickle anti-sieze on the threads or dialectic grease on the boots?
+Meatwagon 2005 I have not used anything on them for years and never had any issues, so I would say no. Cheers Bro!

Congrats on your new bike 5K that's awesome. Running a bit of anti-seize can't hurt anything. lol your right about the neighbor. Cheers!
oh where did you get those sweet floor boards at !!???

***** It has Bub exhaust on it. Not sure but I don't think it's stock.
Bub exhaust nice, those would be aftermarket pipes. Sounds like your fuel air mixture needs adjustment, that should fix the popping on decel.
@syyyo Lol that's a good analogy, that's great you got it adjusted, ride safe man.
Thanks for all your videos mate they really help ;)

The reviews are really good. I practiced a lot today in beautiful Indiana spring weather and am getting better. I guess we can adapt to anything when it comes to doing something we love so much. Thanks for the response! I will keep you in mind if I have other questions. Hope that's cool with you.
Sharon Miller That's cool, I'll check it out. Ride safe out there & Takeiteass!
I have the same bike but my spark plug cap was loosen and i dont know how to fix it or tighten it..the result is when i put gas to accelerate, it coughs too much(i dont know the exact words but i wish u understand what i mean). Sometimes it backfires on the pipe..help pls
What exhaust do you have on her it sounds great 🤘💀🤘
@jesserogers398 thank you, those pipes are the Vance & Hines, they sound incredible. You can ride quite if you goes easy on the throttle and if you want loud you have that as well.
I'm having some difficulties with starting my 07. Battery is good but it won't crank over. No weird noises when trying to start. I think I'm gonna check the plugs
have you tried the ole push start
Cheers
***** thank you
Thanks for the very informative videos !!!
Cheers!
***** Awesome! thanks
Hey Adam, That is a Voss non DOT helmet. Check out my AKOURY AK-88 helmet review, that is an awesome low profile DOT approved helmet that does not look like Gazoo. Cheers bro!
Thank you. Sorry man, not to sure if it's the same procedure for the 1100.
Hey recently rained and my bike will start on choke but when I get going down the road about a half mile it cuts off on the rear cylinder then dies
Your plugs should be dry not wet, they should have a light tan or grey color to them. It sounds like you may have a problem with the choke if it's a cold start issue. It could be many other things though, you might want to have a mechanic look at it.
Great Video, man I keep watchin you and I'm going to know how to rebuild this thing-haha. Keep it up berbo, much appreciated.
Al Jackson Lol Thanks Al and thanks for watching. Takeiteass!
Hi,what kinda spark plugs you used? I bearly understood what you said when you mentione them(also i have 2000 vstar will they work equally?)
Yes you can use the same plugs on your 2000, they are NGK DPR7EA9.
@@bernbo thanks friend 👍
Is iridium spark plugs better than stock? Can that be used on this bike?
I have an unrelated problem but a lot of other seem to have the same problem. The front cylinder on my Vstar 1100 fires perfect but the rear cylinder misses a lot. If I hold my hand behind the exhaust the pressure from the back cylinder is less. There is no black smoke but I can tell there is less power. Thanks in advance if you can help.
It sounds like you have a dead plug, maybe try switching the plugs and see if that changes anything.
+Bernbo thank you. I'll give it a try.
hi friend...i would like to know wahat basic tools i need to put on a tool bag to carry on the motrocycle for emergencies
+Antonio Santos Hey Antonio check this link out, you may find this helpful rideapart.com/articles/the-basic-motorcycle-toolkit-tools-to-help-get-you-home If you have a fork bag you could store it in there. Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
Hey Burnbo. A.J. here. Does this also apply to my 1100 classic?
Hey man... I have this bike as well... mine won’t shift up past neutral any suggestions?
Not sure, what may be causing that, I looked up some trouble shooting on it and it could be a number of things. Difficult shifting
1 incorrect clutch adjustment
2 incorrect clutch operation
3 bent shift fork shaft
4 damaged shift fork guid
5 bent or damaged shift fork
6 worn gear dogs or slots
7 damaged shift drum grooves.
I will post a link that may help you out better than I can. faq.f650.com/FAQs/PlugCapsnCoils.htm
***** thank you
im thinking about getting one of these bikes. but only one problem im 5 1/2 foot will i be able to ride in comfort?
***** Thx Boss; I will do that. Your videos are a huge help. I guess I could say they are my Bike Bible. lol
Keep it up!!
Robert Burt Right on bro, thank you. Cheers!
I'd like to get a decent Torque wrench a great all around tool, what type is that?
Jammin Jimmy Hey Jimmy, this is a cheap wrench but it gets the job done. I'll post a link to it here. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/beam-type-torque-wrench-1-2-in-0588660p.html#.VRNTLvnF9eM Hope this helps you out. Cheers!
Hi A.J. I will pm a link that may help you out, there is some great info there. Cheers.
suggestion take some air and blow out the plugs before removing to keep the dirt out of the bikes pistons
Gotta know the brand of helmet at the end of the video. Gotta get one.
Hey Larry, The 1100 has a 64.8" wheelbase and is 96.9" long
the 650 has a 64.0" wheelbase and is 96.5" long So they are pretty much the same size bike, the 1100 has quite a bit more power and torque for sure. You may want to put on a set of forward controls to fit the bike to you better. My buddy Paul put a set of 4in forward controls on his 1100 which made a big difference for him, he is 6.4" Hope this helps out. Cheers!
Nice video and thank you.
@mk196a That's a good tip, thank you.
Thanks man, the helmet is made by " Voss " but it is not DOT approved, the laws have changed since that video was made so i don't wear it anymore.
@seemeontv Right on bro.
@Scorpiuszeroone Haha, no kidding man, starting to drive me nuts, lol.
hey you swing arm bag how does it fit with your saddle bags mounted on your bike
+Paul Perry Hey Paul, the saddle bags don't fit with the solo bag on the bike, it's either the solo bag or the saddle bags which is okay for me. If i'm doing a big trip the bags go back on.
+Bernbo i see was just curious
but anyway cool videos , i enjoy watching and getting the help i need on somethings
+Paul Perry Thanks Paul, happy to hear the videos help you out. Thank you for watching bro.
Cheers!
Sorry man, not sure if it is the same procedure.
but, great videos. keep it up.
How often do you change your spark plugs?
I change them out every year, it's recommended to change them every 13,000 km or 8000 miles.
Ok how many miles do you get on it a year?
It was a few years ago it got new spark plugs only been around a 1000miles per year the last two years. But iam going to take the bike to work insteed of my car atleast when its nice weather.
danishdude82 Not sure how many miles I put on last year, Spark plugs are so cheap I change them regardless of the mileage.
Thats true i have been thinking about changing them every year as well. Do you buy them at a yamaha shop?
No I pick them up at my local Canadian Tire.
what Size socket wrench did you use
It's the sparkplug socket that comes with the bike in the tool pouch, I think it's an 18mm. So I used that with a 17mm wrench to turn it. Cheers
@@bernbo thank you🙏 I bought an 09 recently and it's been a blast! thank you for these videos
@@bernbo could you post a link to the closest thing online of the spark plug wrench you have.
@@smartestcrackheadever5517 you can use the one that comes in your tool kit with the bike, or you could pick up am 18mm spark plug socket, that should do you no problem.
