Great video Simon as always and lovely to see Meg of course exploring and having fun. Thank you for sharing new forests and its great to see your exciting adventures and watching your enthusiasm boil over. I love the way you make order out of what I would see as chaos. Keep inspiring us please.

I think of myself as a nature and landscape photographer. Until I started to watch your UA-cam videos I’d always dismissed trees as relatively uninteresting and tended to dismiss them. But having watched several of your videos I now see them differently. I look at their form and texture as well as any colour - especially redwoods - and have been out seeking the kind of compositions that really excite me. I also agree with your opinion about minimal pp editing - it’s naturalism. Why would anyone want their tree photos to ‘pop’ by over saturating colour. So minimal is the way forward for me. This also makes my illustrations more bone fide and more satisfying. Thanks Simon.

Because of your channel, I have really come to appreciate my local parks and wooded areas and even have photographed them from time to time. I have to catch myself to not be too impatient and just let everything come into view. Finding good compositions that would look good on a print is something that remains kind of a sore spot for my photography. I have to keep telling myself that my own worst enemy when it comes to photographing anything is to stay home.

A nice woodland. Places like this are becoming harder to find. Makes me realise how privileged I am to live next to a wide range of different woodland. Thanks for sharing. Reality enjoy this...

Again you dazzle with what you find in a near magical environment. I made comment a couple weeks ago about the contrast between your woodlands and the pine and fir forests where I live in eastern Oregon. To be sure the western/coastal forests of Oregon are staggering to behold also, approaching rainforest in quality. I am blessed with many deciduous varieties of trees (cottonwoods/poplar) here along with the almost bristlecone appearance of many types of junipers and mahogany. To that I give thanks to you (and Meg) for inspiration and insight; while the subjects may differ, the challenges are similar.

Hi Simon . one of your best videos in my opinion ! here where I live we have had a long, long dryness and woodland was really suffering till about one month ago : rain comes at least 2 hours a day and forest recovered and now I have really beautiful bright green.Thank you for all as always

A very enjoyable and inspirational video - see Meg enjoying herself so much is a bonus. For various reasons all my photography recently has been local street scenes so it's nice to visit the forest, however vicariously.

That lichen you showed us is everywhere in the bush where I go in Tasmania. I didn't know any of that you shared about it. What a treat to have so much of it in our part of the world! It's probably not from an Atlantic rainforest though. . . . .bit too far south for that.

Wow! , amazing find Simon with the Lobaria pulmonaria, and so much of it!
Only ever seen one small in south Sweden. Very good indicator of good air quality as you say in the video!
Keep up the good work :)!

It is inspiring to see these wonderful forests. To be honest, I'm a bit jealous of not having such locations available. But your enthusiasm and creativity motivate me again and again to visit "my" local woodlands, even if it is challenging and difficult to find really appealing compositions in the commercial forests in my region. Thanks for the inspiring experience and for sharing this pretty woodland with us.

As usual a great video Simon, the images are great. The video you made with Meg with the brook and small waterfall I can see a very promising image there. Thank you for another great video, Simon! I'm really enjoying seeing this beautiful woodland! I do hope you get to go back there in all the seasons, I can imagine it would look amazing in the autumn as well. As for it being so dry: that is the case here as well. They say we are near 40 days without rain at the moment. We may get a little bit tomorrow, but everything is so dry that I doubt it will be enough.

Do you carry a GPS tracking device to find your way back to your car? Or is Meg just that smart of a dog? She is a great companion! I so love your photographs! This is another chapter in your next book. I again want an autographed copy when it comes out.

Dog wonders, who is he talking to ? There is nobody but me.
Love the scenery and the shots you took, like always.
Have you ever considered doing macros cause when you explained that rare foliage I saw some nice opportunities for macro shots.
BTW this environment would be so inspiring to shoot a fashion shot with bright color dresses and whatnot against that green BG.
Very refreshing video on my very early morning.
    Thanks for sharing

Thank you once again for your insights Simon. Dry as the forest might have been, the images are still gorgeous. Two things. 1. How is the back? 2. Could you consider recording a discussion with the other Simon (Booth) since you appear to share much in common philosophically but with generally different subject matter?
