Loved your last photo Ian.
Thanks for this video on the most important part of photography: Finding the composition.
Thank you 👍
In 2021, after 30 plus years, I gave up my career as a photojournalist, I’m just getting into landscapes and your videos are very informative. One thing I need to learn is too slow down and relax.. no deadlines! Glad your back.
too true, relax and enjoy the process 👍👍
Wonderful images Ian, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
Amazing... great photos and thought process. You have a new subscriber.
So often I find myself "knowing" that there is "something" there in the scene but I just can't isolate that something to capture it. You offering your process helps. Please keep them coming. Well done!
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Thank you for this video. It was very timely for me. As an aging enthusiast photographer who shoots with an X-t5 and a batch of familiar lenses, I pretty much know how to shoot. The issue always is what to shoot that will result on another photo for my walls. I resonated with your approach and comments 100%.
Thanks Stephen 👍👍
My technique for avoiding the local honeypot / beauty locations is to live in an area that simply has none! LOL I've never seen another landscape photographer when I've been out and about in my local area. Humor aside, a really good video.
Ha Ha, that's funny, Len 👍👍
Like you I prefer to find a view and take images that are a one of. From my walks I am able to do so with camera on the ground and in the air.
Awesome 👍👍
Very nice video that brought us into your process. Thank you for sharing this experience!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏👍
Thanks for this great video, very useful. Beautiful photos
Glad you enjoyed it! 😁👍
Great video, enjoyable watch. Love that image at 7:12
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
More composition / process videos like this please! For those of us that want to get better at landscape photography, these videos are invaluable. Love all the positive ethics throughout too. Great reminder to slow down, and get the most out of the scene you’re seeing even though conditions usually aren’t optimal. This is the field level stuff most photographers don’t want to show for some reason.
Gnarls and twists and vibrant green...✅ Thank you.
awesome 👍👍
Awesome vibes in this video. Composition hunting and working scenes is all part of the fun :-)
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Good to see you back, Ian. Hope you're keeping well. Video was cracking again bud. Wish you all the best. Keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy, much appreciated 👍😊
Glad you are back Ian. I really enjoy the insight regarding your composition thoughts and setup. Lighting is always a wildcard for all of us.
Thanks buddy 👍👍
Thanks Ian, another amazing video. I always struggle d to find good composition and your videos really, really help . Cant wait for the next. :)
Thanks so much 👍👍
I've visited this wood a number of times and it's a surprisingly difficult place to photograph.
That woodland would really work GREAT in the mist 🤫
It would! Ive been back twice this week and got 15 minutes of mist but it went too quickly for me to make the most of it. fingers crossed for next week 🤞
Nice informative walk through of your woodland composition process, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍👍
Awesome ❤
Thank you 👍
Nice one Ian, thank you! 🙂
Very welcome 👍👍
I really enjoyed this. I’m still relatively new to photography so found myself heading off to the honeypot locations. Although I got some really nice images, I just don’t want to print any of them to put on my wall. You are spot on that the process was a bit underwhelming. I’ve found myself recently heading over to scout my local woodland for Autumn compositions and it’s been great fun seeing new images and looking forward to going back when the conditions allow for a print worthy image.
Hi Ian enjoyed the video. Do you do any post processing to the photos you show us? Cheers Graham. Keep the videos coming.
Welcome back
Thanks Steve 👍👍
The thing I like about the waist-level finder of my Hasselblad is that the image is flipped leftright. A trick the old landscape artists used to do is look at the scene through a mirror. It detaches you a little and you see it how it actually is, rather than how you imagine it.
I think these digital cameras could easily incorporate a 'flip switch' to allow this...or does it already exist?
i think it would work with a flip screen camera, as you could turn off auto rotate then flip the screen upside down.
Really enjoyed this video Ian. A very nice looking woodland. I've found myself looking for images in my local Dartmoor woodlands recently, but the thing I'm always bad at is just slowing down. Next time out I'll be trying some of your tips.
Thanks Simon, I hope it helps 😁👍
Video bạn chia sẻ rất tuyệt Chúc bạn thật nhiều sức khỏe ạ ❤ 3:34
