Let’s just say a lot of contemporary pop culture references you see were largely inspired by legends such as Janet and her family :) she was a definite blueprint
Also, as you pay attention to Janet, make sure you pay attention to how clean, sharp, intricate, and in sync her moves are. No female was dancing like her with a group of dancers like that before her. She's called the blueprint for many reasons. Also, her voice isn't huge, but it's very versatile. Notice the key changes in "If" from low to high. You should've watched the all dance version of if
Yes, react to more Janet videos and live performances. Videos: The Pleasure Principle (1987) Alright (1990) Got 'Til It's Gone (1997) Together Again (1997) Live performances: Control (1987) Escapade (1990) That's The Way Love Goes/If (1993) I Get Lonely (1998)
Janet is the Blueprint the Queen of Dance. Love you did these reactions, but I got 3 videos you must listen to. First The Pleasure Principle which may be the greatest female dance video of all time. Janet dances her ass off in that video. Second Miss You Much (The Extended Version) where you can see the WORLD FAMOUS chair dance she does at the end of the video. She is the first to dance with a chair in a music video. Third I Get Lonely which is one of my favorite all time Janet songs. She has the famous red hair in this video and is a great R&B song. Janet has so many great music videos, but these are 3 of my favorite. One love.
Also wanna add that you had me cracking up when you were watching the "All For You" video and you asked "who's it all for?"😂 Oh and nice dancing with those toned legs. More practice and you'll be on Janet's level haha
She was one artist of the MTV era, and she took advantage. Most of her videos are high production and quality. Rhythm Nation is considered a "classic" and would probably rank very high if someone did a "Greatest Music Videos of All Time". Other than Rhythm Nation, other music video recommendations would be: Got til It's Gone (an incredibly good song, and the music video is maybe her best video); Love Will Never do (because that look represented a sharp turn in her career, going from theater kid to pop superstar babe); Go Deep (underrated video for a song that was more popular overseas than in the US); That's the Way Love Goes (ultra cool, absolutely dominating MTV during this time); Feedback (came out during her BS, post-Super Bowl exile); Rock With You (another gem from her blacklisted days). I didn't even cover her Control album videos that some would say are the best of all, full of 80's standards. I hope you do more of her videos and her live stuff. Her performance from the Grammy's in the mid-1980's and even more recently on American Idol are feats if you ask me. She absolutely works the stage and puts on a show - she's a Jackson after all!
Definitely check out more videos. Each are so unique. Her songs grow on you then they stick forever lol. And the video just further solidifies that. Nice dance moves at the end too lol.
Yes, more videos. I suggest release order to everyone because you can’t see an artists growth otherwise. Let’s take it one album at a time. Since you’ve skipped around a bit let’s take it back: What Have you done for me lately? (86) Nasty (86) When I think about you (86) The Pleasure Principal (87) Start there!!!
awesome to see you discovering janet. her music and career is so much fun to discover and explore. i caught the janet at the beginning of the year and she's become one of my favorites. the hsm thing is funny, i wouldn't be surprised as she served as an inspiration for it.
I will always try to be respectful and make suggestions instead of saying you “need” to watch. With that said, I suggest you watch the full version of the Rhythm Nation video , it is a 30 minute short film that will provide more context to the short version, plus it actually was a number 1. Also the long version has snippets of of other songs from the album. Also please watch the live performance of this from the 1998 Velvet Rope Tour.
I watched your video and I loved it , so much especially the two last ones . I am a huge fan of Janet and I'd love you react to Together Again music video too . thank you for everything.
That’s the way love goes, Feedback, what have you done for me lately, miss you much, runaway, love would never do with you, Black Cat (live) The list is infinite 😂
- Nasty - When I Think of You - Pleasure Principle - Miss You Much - Alright - Love Will Never Do Without You - You Want This - Runaway - Got Till It’s Gone - Go Deep - Feedback - Rock With You If you could react to 4 or 5 (or all of them if you do mulitple videos) of the above please.
❤Janet Jackson The 👸 of Music and videos, Entertainment!Blueprint of today's 🎨 !There wouldn't be a Beyonce, Britney, Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Ciara! All of these Artist!said she's The reason why in this Music Industry 🎶!People need to do There Research !She The Greatest Alive!
I was fortunate enough to see Janet live in London in September and, although she is not as 'ripped' as she used to be at 58 years old, she still puts on a fantastic show and her energy and dance moves are amazing!
since you did an 80's, 90's and two 2000's songs by janet, next reactions should be The Pleasure Principle(80's), the rhythm nation 1814 short film movie(80's), I Get Lonely and All Nite dont stop
Great reactions! You also should check out I Get Lonely as well as her live performances. Her performance of Doesnt Really Matter and Someone to call My Lover at her All For You HBO Tour special really shows off her abs...way more than these videos.
I wish your Patreon subs told you to watch the videos of the songs you listened to in the last. That would better connect the dots. The same situation with Doesnt Really Matter would have happened with other tracks you “think” you didnt enjoy lol You have to understand with Janet- shes thinking about the visual when shes making the song. So the visual element goes hand and hand with the song. MANY videos from her will convert your original opinions of certain songs. Also, the songs you tend to like the least were the 80s tracks where attention spans were a bit longer so there could just be one repetitive beat - but going into 2000 is when music got complicated with musical changeups in the songs thats why Doesn’t Really Matter and All For You sound as they do. Back in the 80s people were content with just a single groove for the whole song. I wish you had the lyrics for Rhythm Nation - thats such an important song about social injustices were still living with today- and that was 1989. And If! I really wish you had the lyrics. If is a masterpiece with what shes doing with her voice. Theres a quick video you should watch- not react to but just a quick watch on her voice. Cant wait for the future videos - just know because Janet (like Michael) speaks in Jacksoneese - its always best to have the lyrics on with Janet. 👍🏿
The songs are dated, remixed to make them more current in live shows, where she never sings, partly because she doesn't have such an important vocal range, and she would be bionic if she found the breath to sing and dance at that speed for 2 hours. Obviously the school of his little brother Michael, in the syncopated, jerky movements, with a number of dancers to complete the choreography, are classics of his, very beautiful Scream, danced and sung together, was an innovative piece, on a visual level, but the genius of family, in dance and singing he remains unquestionably him.
HOW DO YOU REACT TO 1 MINUTE OF A VIDEO, I'VE NEVER SEEN A REACTOR SKIP THROUGH A VIDEO LIKE THAT, YOU MISS THE ESSENCE OF THE VIDEO AND THE SONGS FRANKLY!
The late 90s/2000s saw a lot of artist using that futuristic aesthetic: Britney Spears--Oops, I did it Again; TLC--No Scrubs; Busta Rhymes ft Janet Jackson--What's It Gonna Be, it was just the moment of time people were in.
It cracks me up when you say stuff from the 80s and 90s sound like stuff from the 2000s...
"Together Again" and "Love Will Never Do Without You" are two of her best videos as well.
She’s one of the best that’s ever done it and is legendary Iconic for a reason…she was that girl!
Jacob: “This reminds me of [thing that occurred 25-30 years later].”
No Jacob. THAT reminds you of THIS. 😂
Let’s just say a lot of contemporary pop culture references you see were largely inspired by legends such as Janet and her family :) she was a definite blueprint
Doesn't Really Matter is my favorite song EVER. That is the song that made me fall in love with Janet. Please do more Janet songs and videos.

Agreed! I went to see her in Birmingham this year. I was dancing and screaming for the whole time. She is still serving!
Paula Abdul was her choreographer
I’m back!
Blueprint for all dancing females that followed, especially Britney.

Should react to Toni Braxton. Shes often overlooked when people are doing reactions of legends.
