"Don't knock it 'till you try it" is something asexuals deal with constantly. "How do you know you don't want sex if you haven't tried it?" gets asked a LOT and the answer is always because they've never had a desire to and it should be left at that.

The same logic can be applied to gay, bi, pan, and straight relationships. Like, I'm pansexual(I'm not quite sure about the romantic part though), so with that logic, I won't know I'm pansexual/panromantic until I've f*cked every adult human I found attractive. I've just decided to turn the tables and ask, "How do you know you're straight?". Like, you don't just stop being straight because you're single. Sometimes, I wonder how I haven't gone insane on this planet.

Unless someone basically says "yes you can touch/grope me" then it is not ever okay to do it. I don't care what gender or identity, that is just sexual harassment. If someone wants to hook up, they will say they want too. No need to force it, that is just wrong and illegal depending on how much of a horrible person you are.
Its always okay to ask, but the answer they give is the final answer. And then if they say they do have the same feelings, still ask before touching them or anything. I don't understand how someone can be comfortable groping strangers. You are just a creep, no one likes that. You go from a chance of dating if you just asked, to an absolute no because you shown how little you care about personal boundrys.

I'm panro ace so when I told her I was asexual, but mentioned my girlfriend in the next sentence or so, she was really confused. So I explained that while I am sex negative, I am very capable of feeling romantic attraction.
Like, people have one night stands. All the sexual attraction, non of the romantic one. So why can't there be the opposite? All the romantic attraction, and non of the sexual one. I think she understood, so I'm calling that a win!! Nearly all they ever write about is their romantic feelings and love and stuff, which I am fundamentally incapable of relating to in a meaningful way or understanding the emotional implications of "she doesn't love me" beyond "damn, that sucks". I think an important part of asexuality and aromatic is that it's a spectrum. Some do not feel sexual or romantic attraction at all some feel only one of them, some can only fall in love when they had a long and deep platonic relationship with someone and some like the intimacy or pleasure of sex but don't need to be physically or romantically attracted to that person. I really like that jaiden made this video because aromantic and asexuality are still pretty unknown and often not understood. I heard many people say that you can only become aro/ace after trauma or if you are impotent, which is obviously not how this works. I also liked your reaction you both had also a lot of interesting things to say.

coba - I am ace and I can confirm, yes. It's that you don't feel sexual attraction to people, but you can still have a drive. Asexuals can also just straight up have sex with people without being any less asexual. It's about the attraction, not the action.

Aro ace person who is married and has been with their partner for 8+ years here. :)
This video makes me so happy, and seeing people learning the specifics of it is just as nice. It took me a long time to come to the realization that those labels suited me like she did. I guess the best way to describe being aro ace for me is to just say that romantic feelings and "intimate" desire aren't a part of my life. I never missed them or was sad because of it because the entire thing is about feelings I just... don't experience. Any "intimate" desire/ feelings I have are entirely wrapped up in making my partner happy (not as something I *have* to do, mind you, just something I want to do for them) but on my own, there just... aren't those feelings.
My partner has attempted to explain romance to me in the past, and it just doesn't connect. It is very abstract/ theoretical to me because while I can look at a candle- lit dinner and recognize it as a romantic gesture, the only emotional reaction I have toward it is being grateful that they went through the trouble to do something they thought I might like. The way my friend explain this a decade ago is perfect:
"[My partner at the time] is the kind of person who would set up a candle- lit dinner, and you are the kind of person that would walk into that room and ask why the lights are off."
I also absolutely did the "I'm probably bi because I don't have a preference for either gender" thing like she did. Lol

A lot. Because my dad is really a good and supportive father with everything else, just not when it comes to LGBTQIA+ stuff... Jaiden's a fellow ace, is she? Can really relate to her story, not being able to understand other people and the like. For me it was "I'm quite sure I don't like guys so I guess then by default I'm straight?", and stayed like that for most of my teens and thought I was schizoid for a while, up until I discovered that asexuality was a thing. I don't hate the idea of being in a romantic relationship however, but I don't think I'm a romantic either, having never had a crush on anyone or anything. Since I don't outright feel nothing about the idea of it as I do with sexual attraction, perhaps I got into that same line of thinking as before? Probably just demiromantic or something along those lines, me thinks.

The Apostle Paul says, and I paraphrase to the extreme: "Men, if you don't feel attraction to anyone like me, great! Use it to do productive stuff like I do with ministry. Keeps you from complications and distractions. If you fall madly in love with the right girl, marry the girl. Just be smart about it." I have 0 understanding for guys who hang out with me after I tell them day 1 that I am NOT looking for a romantic or sexual relationship, Only friendships, and only want to hang to see if there is potential for friendship, and they agree and tag along, and then weeks later tell me they want to date, and I say I want to be friends but if they cant be friends I will understand if they go out of my life (but will be angry with them that they decided to hang with me if dating was the goal, if the romantic feelings just sort of happend despite plans for friendship thats a different story I can sympethise with that), and they say they want to stay friends, only to then start distancing themselves from me. I also have no understanding for guys who agree to hang despite knowing i have 0 interest in romance or sex, they still hang out with the intention to score sex or both and then feel insulted or upset when they cant change my mind. I'm not ever stringing anyone along. I pretty much say to every person on the day I meet them, HEY btw, not looking to date. May be a weird thing to say from the get go, but I want to avoid drama's where I can. Thankfully real life has not been nearly as dramatic. Almost all guys I'm friends with where already in a relationship when i met them, the ones that didn't where not looking for romances at that time either, and only 2 guys where looking for a relationship. One walked out of my life after I said No, the other stayed one of my closest friends (and has since found an amazing girlfriend who he goes steady with for about 6 years now). I dont think there is anything wrong with breaking contact if you where hanging with somebody to see if they could become a romantic partner, they where not clear on of romance was possible or not, you find out that wont happen, and would feel to heartbroken to be near them, I have full understanding if you walking away. But not by distancing or ghosting. Thats cowardly. just like somebody should not string you along romanticly, you should not string people along in a friendship way either. if your not interested in being friends, Say it clearly, and cut contact. Thats what adults should do. Communicate. clearly. And If somebody warns you from the get go they are not available, and they are not looking for friendships, then don't waste either of our times and blame them when they say no again down the line. 0 understanding for ghosting, 0 understanding for people who try despite clear langauge from the other that it's not an option (like pretending to be friends when they just want to seduce you or think they can change your mind), 0 understanding for people who try to stay friends when thats clearly not what they want and hurt everyone involved longer. It's simple. Instead of dancing around the topic as most people do, just be clear from day one what your looking for. If you already dont agree on that, no point in investing in ANY type of relationship, platonic included. If your open to both friendship and romance depending on how it goes, cool go for it. But I dont want to go trough losing people I thought I was devolping genuine friendships with only because they where only interested in banging me and dont want girls as friends. You wasted my time and needlesly hurt me. People act like the ones who's romantic and or sexual feelings are not returned are the only ones hurting. Thats not true. It hurts A LOT to lose somebody you thought was a close friend. People underestimate this sort of pain. It's not an attack when people say I want to be friends. It's not a lesser relationship, it's a different one. Especialy for AroAce people. there is nothing ''just'' about friends to me. Friends mean the world to me. And I dont invest in friendships lightly. Thankfully most guys I met where not jerks, and where willing to share their reasons for wanting to hang out with me day one so would could prevent wasting each others precious time. These days I just drop the ''Hi, I'm (insert name), I'm (insert some basic personal info that can be deal breakers for some relationships of any kind, including the AroAce part.) Long story short, communicate. Be clear on what you want. That goes both ways. Distancing is not clear language because you could also be distancing due to depression, hectic life happening, a new job etc. You could just be busy, especialy if you keep replying with excuses. People will keep hope friendship is possible. So dont do that. You dont want to be friends? Just say so and move on. Dont be a coward about. Stringing along is stringing along. That applies to sexual, romantic and platonic relationships.

For one, there have been instances in which i have considered some girls to be particularly pretty; also, i sometimes engage in, let's say, "not wholesome, one person activities (being careful with language just to be safe)". On the other hand, beyond finding some girls pretty, i have never felt anything i could consider romantic for anyone, i have felt no need or drive to be in a relationship or hook up with someone, to the point that i'm on my 6th year of college and i haven't been in any romantic or sexual relationship, at most being a little self concious that almost all of my friends have or had have relationship experience and i can only add to conversations about those topics based on (what i think is) common sense. You definitely to talk about where you're coming from before engaging in the act and I think if someone does want a relationship but you don't, then it's best to not even get physically involved with them because it will cause complications and you don't want to take advantage of their feelings.

i feel like, at one point, i was Aromantic for a time, like literally during school. like, sure, i did have girlfriends but nothing got crazy. like a kiss on the cheek and holding hands.... and saying nice things. i got dumped for different reasons but i think my experience i learned is: don't rush relationships, especially in school. seriously: don't be pressured into something you don't get or just to look cool. the best things in life are just figuring yourself out as a friend and person first than finding someone you truly understand.
now a days i see myself as Bi and Pan and it honestly feels pretty confident to find both men and women attractive. like i don't have to feel weird looking at a guy and say "that's hot" in my head and think I'm a creep. and i would assume most guys would take that as a compliment.

well... yeah. of course i changed. i mean Jaiden herself said she had an old video that doesn't mean anything now and moods towards people and relationships can change over time. I was not fully attracted to people till i was in High School, late High School at that. just cause i say now a days I'm this doesn't mean at some point i wasn't that. that's just the ever evolving changes of life. Jaiden herself might go through one herself. who knows.

The thing about climate change is that it may reach a tipping point. I do believe we are well past the point of no return, but one the gulf stream or something collapses, then it will immediately destroy the climate in most of the world.
We will live past it, I do believe we are resistant enough. But the question would be how many of us, and that is a much harder question to answer. Any food imported would basically go away or go extinct. So we might support like a third of our population.

but i had the same problem as Jaiden because i was looking at the wrong people and i realised that halfway through high school... im gay
for any dutch people here it is the GUIDO in Amersfoort(i was on the Paladijnenweg 253/251) but due the education system TL is seen as sub par so i mentioned is as that while it is actually very different because you learn to work with your hands instead of your brain(for example you learn to be a car mechanic after you finished TL while you learn how to design a car after you have done HAVO/VWO/Gymnasium) so it is just different what your education is
