I gave my son ODIN DARK special spiral 4 and time's pulse 4. He's max investment. Watching him tear through these fancy power-creeping units with every special in the game brings joy to my heart ❤️

I love this video because Feh is such a meta defined game. Showing people that you can make bad units work is great. One of my main units has been Nemesis, and he doesnt usually have the statline to compete with new units, but he still holds up great
I use Mia, Petrine, and OG Female Corrin to this day, and they continue to perform in Arena. I told this to my friend before, but I feel more proud/happy seeing them take out threats in Arena than someone like Summer Edie.
At some point I thought: "Well, I'm not gonna be able to +10 the good new stuff, so I just sacrifice the new, to empower the old"
I now have a Lon'qu that turns 70+ damage to like 10 and heals 6 of that, so effectively 4 dmg taken. I can throw him at most of the content and just let him kill everything... well besides the newest broken units that disable like half of his kit.
Still very enjoyable and very fun to play with. Having some launch and 3*/4* units at +10 that still pull their weight with new skill, etc. feels really good. It's at least better than having these half merged new 5* exclusives, they feel so unfinished.
Thanks for making a video like that. Hopefully we'll see people use 'old' units with interesting builds, then even summoner duels could be more fun (at least for me).
My Death Knight may be outclassed by the new heroes, but he'll always be on my team and my star unit.
DK is probably the coolest unit out there. Really wish he got a great refine, but at least we get arcane weps.
@@Rodi_1111 Couldn't agree more friend! Wish we could have weapon skins, so I can use an arcane weapon but keep the Sythe skin on.

@@Rodi_1111 I certainly hope so! That and character skins! For example, I can use Summer Seth but use his base Skin, and to help distinguish between the two to show you're using a skin, you could put a pink dress icon on the unit during battle just like the blue icon for resplendents.
I mean, I have a +10 DK with the Scythe and its still pretty functional 👍
The BEST feeling is watching your favorites in Seer's Snare become GODS! That game mode is my favorite because of the fun skill stacking that you can do with each unit!
It's always fun to see peoples reactions to my max invested OG Leo and Max invested Spring Xander. I find it more fun and challenging to use your favorites than to always use the meta units.

No matter what happens, and what comes, my OG Lord Sigurd will be part of my core team, despite him being kinda ass now.
I think that, whether we're talking gatchas or about other games with decent sized rosters, a fail-proof strategy is to always use/go with your faves.. It makes things a lot more enjoyable.
In FEH, for example, two units I have highly invested in (merges, flowers and the other flower/cabbage thingy) are B!Camilla and og!Sonya, but I always use them, everywhere I can.
Do they score like the more recent units?
Definitely not, but they perform just as good, if not better.. and that's my very humble and ultra biased opinion 😂
I made my Nowi +10 and max flowers , grima arcane , atk/spd finish 4 ,spd smoke 4 and she so really strong with Corrine B skill making it so broken
My most used characters are Marcia and Scion Nanna, they don’t do anything particularly stelar, but it’s always more fun to think of ways to use your favorite characters rather than pulling only for the broken ones
I'm still not done building my Corrin, but her, along with Lucina, Celica and Alm deserve a spot in my favorites list.

My +10 30df max investment Lon’qu is my strongest Unit (actually he’s not, my B!Dimitri is but my lonqu is sick too)
As someone with a maxed out base Catria (clash 4, guard bearing 4, oath 4, arcane luin), she absolutely still holds up and was doing really well in the recent gen 1 bonus chaos season we just had.
Dragon flowers and inheritble skills are good enough to keep up, what the new heroes have over older units is unique effects and even some of those are being added to inheritible skills (flared sparrow). The main thing holding older units back outside of the unique effects are the slow speed we get flowers and inheritible skills.
That feeling when I have a +10/max DF'd and heavy invested Canas and Shanna. They wreck stuff in Arena! Oh yeah... My Canas is a Speed Stacker while Shanna is a Surge Sparrow Bruiser on wings.
Funnily enough, aside from those two... I have a sizeable roster of Gen 1 and Gen 2 characters that I've chosen to invest into. Even up to now, they still cause mayhem.
I started playing way past Reinhardt’s prime but I love the guy so I made sure to +10 merge max flowers with good skills. I had an absolute blast using him as the bonus unit in AR this past chaos season. It helps that I’m also a big Askr and Gatekeeper fan since the two of them help a ton with his damage output. I they ever made a way to get resplendent outfits free to play I would get his for sure. Even if it costed a hundred orbs or 5 celestial stones.
I still use my +10 Og!Selena (the one from fates) despite her very old age. I even gave her arcane devourer which did her miles more favor than her old prf weapon. Although she is being given a bit of a run for her money by maybe F!Alear although not because of competition and being a modern godsword, but mainly cause of character appeal. And she isn't even +10.
I agree and I definitely build faves all the time but sometimes powercreep hurts so much, I reached my +10 F!Corrin right before Halloween F!Corrin was revealed and I was sooo sad, it's even worse now with Brave F!Corrin 😭😭
been building and running m!robin since the game came out, and im not stopping now. if anything whenever new powercreeped inheritable skills come out as well as useful supports (B!M!Robin is now a staple on my teams) just end up slowly bringing my boi back to being legitimately viable. the world will rue the day when a blue arcane tome comes out
I still use my max invested OG!Marianne and B!Marianne despite showing age because she's my all-time fave. I really hope she gets an amazing Arcane blue tome and a broken refine respectively.
Me too i love marrianne i dont have her but i want her to be good and nuke meta units also i love your marianne i seen them they are really satysfying kill every in one turn

Everyone can agree that the satisfaction when you see your "old" invested unit that has one line of weapon description tanks or even kills a high merged recent unit with an essay long prf description is nothing to shrug at. They can and will struggle sure, but thats where team support and the new skills come in. Resource management needs to be considered too since f2p players tend to have limited fodder unless you have like a ton of spare premium units. It is hard to make your old faves into a one man army so please put into consideration the teammates since they will make your god unit better. Whatever happens, we can make our faves prevail anytime of the day.
Also, ygo music choice is always lit.
My fully invested florina could be oytclassed by blue units, but she can get down actual red units, even overcome some new green tomes like a queen
most of my favorites were Gen 1 or just super niche characters like Lachesis and Arvis and after 6 years of playing - yes your favorites will still hold up they have access to most of the crazy skills most new units come out with
I maxed out my Elise and summer Tana and they still hold up relatively well I just love them as they are my favorite characters ever since I seen them in FeH which inspired me to play their respective games
Yeah a lot of the powercreep recently has been coming from the passive skills, which are inheritable
@@tacho9427 gambit 4 being a great example, plenty melee units will enjoy 15 true damage and 50% dr especially some older cavs if you can afford high cd specials

Up until B!Robin came out I have been using "Marth" as my main sword unit since I have had her since the very first Tempest Trial so she was one of my first units to +10, and she always was one of my star units. Now she has only gotten the bump case Tip the Scales is stupid, however I still got 7 years of use out of her, and I can still use her for other game modes too so her usefulness is never really gonna go away
My OG Marth and Groom Marth are still awesome.
Made both function the same with one giving +5 to all stats when adjacent and the other giving +4 to Atk, Def, Spd (some times I give him Drive Res seal when needed).
OG Eliwood still serves me well to this day and frontline of my Cav team. I have him supported by OG Cecilia so she can take out the Blues that he can't deal with.
OG Catria and Camus are still my go to Lances. One transporting teammates and providing decent Offense while the other is a good tank.
All these units are +10 semi invested (dragon flowers and skills half way done)
Holding onto Frederick, the spare Ganglöt did wonders for him!

My og has been Lukas, still part of my core today. I remember the Ayra days, and while everyone else had trouble with her, my mans just ate her for lunch. Nowadays he runs around with Repel 4 cheesing in Arena
That’s me with my Legendary Ike.
Max Merge, Max Flowers, Attack and speed boons, Summoner support. Gave him devourer , A/S Finish 4, Vital , Spiral 4 , Speed Smoke 4 and A/S Oath 3. I love his art and vanguard Ike was my mvp in Radiant Dawn. Even if he’s fallen off , this Ike was always my go to sword unit. If Ike ever gets an ascended with Ettard or Lord Ike from PoR gets a release. I’ll +10 him
As long as SI exists, building your favorites is always the answer. Most units aren't good because of their Prfs (though some are), they're good because of their skills. And if anyone can get skills like Flame Sparrow, any unit can be viable
Yeah! I roll my +10 base Berkut whenever I have the chance, and the Arcane Qiang gave him a really nice power boost.
I'm still running F!Morgan. Sure, I'm itching for an arcane blue tome, but she's no slouch as it is. She's armed with Flared Sparrow, Seal Res 4, and Atk/Res Hold.
My Infantry mission team uses Summer Adult Tiki, who has literally no reason to be there except being one of my favorites. I gave her Ninja Masakari and built her up as a Galeforce unit.
Props for Marcia in the thumbnail, she was my favorite overall lance wielder, let alone Pegasus Knight, in the Tellius games.

My favorite has always been Priscilla. I gave her every premium skill I managed to obtain just to make her good. She's one of my most used units and got a whole lot more use after Duo Elise came out(and got sacked). If they ever release an Arcane Staff, she's getting it. I don't care if it's not good. I'm giving her everything. Anyway, she's currently running Tannenbaton, Martyr+, Holy Pressure, Close Counter, Poetic Justic, and Joint Drive Attack. Her sacred seal changes according to what I need but it's AtkSpd Form for now.
So true. I built Groom Robin and am close to +10 him..gave him Ophelia's tome. He's my favorite. He kills Gullviegs. It's great.

Here I am still using my Odin +10 +30 with Flare (F Soren)/Ruptured Sky, Atk/Spd Final 4, SS4/Magic NFU and Time's Pulse 4/Atk Spd Oath 4
With the Power Creep of the game rn the only way I can imagine even getting any enjoyment out of it is building my favorites lol.
Where i havent played every FE, I've recently decided to just stick to the titles i've played.
My team is Hana, Fae, Cormag, and Ninja Corrin. Hana and Fae are the OGs of my account. I give them all the fodder they want.
YES! This is why I love this game, because inheritance is just so powerful. YEah, an older unit is never, ever going to be able to be as great as a new unit, but they can still be used. My Navarre and Gharnef are units I consistently keep up in the game, Navarre is still as fast as some modern godswords, well, the slower ones such as Lucia and Byleth, but nonetheless he still works just as well as +0 versions of them.
Though, there are some classes where units are really hampered, modern armoured units are just waaayyyyy too good that no old armour would be able to keep up witht he threats they face, and stuff like 4* healers and older fliers would also be pretty hard to use due to stats and inheritance options.

My fav is Adrift Female Corrin. Lovely art, +5, max flowers, atk/spd fin 4, X, Atk/Spd Oath 4/Spd Smoke 4. Thinking of killing her Brave alt for that counter roar
My Lon'qu literally always kicks ass in sunmoner duels granted he has max investment but i know when i meet other god sword builds i know he can win

my only annoyance with building my favs is that gen 1-2 archers/daggers are behind in total stats when accounting for dragon flowers. Granted their stats lines will never be as good as modern units but for someone like Setsuna (my absolute fav), every bit of speed helps a ton. And the gap only gets larger with speed creep being insane this year but that can't really be helped
Arena for older units is also a pain too but again that is a flaw with arena itself and how the tier 4 duel skills are now really old/don't do enough for how strong the A slot is
My main, OG Linus, despite being outdated in terms of skills, can still defeat godswords like Lumera, Lucia, Alears and S!Fjorm. The only advantage new units have was their effects on their skills and weapon are stacked and so many. Good thing Rearmed weapons are now a thing, to keep up with new units. Now, building old units becomes interesting and fun at the same time. My old Linus can still evolve if there's new skills or rearmed weapon
Sigurd, Ares and OG Olwen are my go to unit to most of the game mode! With proper support and possibly good tier 4 skill, those 3 can kill most of unit in game except the new powercreeps 😅
I like the video. Ftp players have an advantage over meta chasers as they have favourites with max and heavy investment while meta chasers use units without them being max potential.
Sadly tho, SD encourages just that. Chasing meta and using the new flavor of the month God sword or armor. This isn't a fault to the prf less units, but a flaw in the game modes design.
Favourites shine in AR and Coliseum which are more forgiving as they are better to plan around. Good video tacho

I said this in a phoenixmaster video not too long ago, maybe about a year, and I’ll say the same thing here: honestly, the meta-game moves so fast, that there’s no point in my opinion in investing into “meta" units. You’re better off just investing into your favorite units.
I have a 10+ brave Ike, at 10+ regular ike, and a 10+ legendary ike. I also I think I am three merges away from a 10+ fallen Ike. All are very helpful in game or competitively one way or another the same goes for my grail projects. 10+ Summer Laegjarn is surprisingly effective. My 10+ Petrine is helpful as well. I could go on with other examples. Even if you do have a 10+ meta unit, in about 2 to 3 months that meta unit will be virtually irrelevant.
In short, stick to your favorites. Don’t waste your resources on the meta. Meta-hype is the biggest mistake you can make (I’m looking at you, Yen Fay).
i have a summer tiki that i use in ar 39 with extreme success. if you have an arcane weapon for the unit literally anything can be top tier even a gen 1 unit with no redeeming qualities and i don't even have a single merge on her
Well saying "favourites" it has to include ALL existing units, so technically to really proof it units that were released in Book I and II should have been used ... which of course would have been much harder to actually argue with, with them back then often have clunky stat distribution, would need 25-30 DF this days (and having enough Infantry DFs to going instant to 30 is very unlikely haha) and also Resplendents can't be taking into consideration for f2p... so yeah.
But comparing Female Shez with Hilda...when they were released in the exact same banner... is a choice to make a point haha.
BUT still a good video and as someone who has tons of Book I and II f2p (or even not f2p) +10s with certain investment and using a good bunch of them on a regular basis (yeah even Walhart, he still rocks, sorry. 8D), I totally agree that building your favourites is no matter how old they are still worth it and they are technically, especially with more and more crazy skills and the Arcane weapons, absolutely usable...to a certain degree at least.
So for casual players and collector type of players this is absolutely a true statement... for highly competitive players, its true too, but of course they have to focus way more one certain fodder/skills and like having some units seems like a "must-have" to compete in high ranks long-term.
My most reliable unit right now is a +10 zihark, so i can agree.
my Cynthia,Tharja and Echidna just destroy every new unit that comes out, and now with supports they are even stronger and will never be replaced
Like, I built up Brave Eliwood over the years, he isn't technically powercrept. His lance holds up really well, just need to feed him the new skills sometimes and he performs.
Mines at +4 w Forma soul skills. And he still shreds through most beasts and dragons to this day
Yeah, his lance is really darn good, and it just keeps aging better with just how many Dragon threats we've gotten in the last 2 years or-so, I was absolutely *Flabbergasted* when he almost solo-ed the Embla/Veronica Abyssal with some support (his Legendary version and Ymir).
The fact they had the foresight to give him Beast and Dragon effective, means he is one of the very few to always be able to hold well in the meta. They give dragons a new toy every other month, and he still goes through the latest and greatest dragon or beast. He also holds up against godswords too with R Feud which is what I am running on him currently. It just helps tremendously that he happens to be a lance unit that can potentially have dr on both hits. That is rare for any unit these days, as most DR takes place on first hit, its so strange.

My maxed out H Dorcas is still near saving/surviving/counter ko'ing the hell outta new meta units.
Mr. TACHO there is no way on earth that my dr far save +10 Sheena is ever going to survive combat against an unmerged legendary Hinoka who has both Harmonic Catria and Legendary Robin support. Instead I will dump all of my orbs to get Bridal Tiki on her rerun so I can run her with my Brave Robin I free summoned because he is totally my favorite fire emblem character from my favorite FE game.

Ive been getting your videos in my recommended lately, I havent played FEH in 3 years. Minus some random pop ins. Ive been wanting to replay, but a lot has changed.
Can I ask, is it too far gone for og Nino? She is/was my most invested unit, it would be a shame to leave her behind.
As shocking as it may sound, Nino's stat distribution aged decently and she is still one of the fastest Green tome units available F2P due to how many Dragonflowers she can get. Her weapon refine wasn't so great though, so we have to wait for the Arcane Green tome to give her.
No matter what God Swords come along I'll always use my Flame Rinkah as my go to sword
I built her around her inheritable, and it's just so fun to see her cut off the enemy's Atk and Def by 13 just by existing.
I have a forma Spring delthea she is not merged but i gave her really good skills and she can kill a lot of godswords i also use R! Ophelia as a combat unit i love her she nukes mostly everything then i use citrinee because she my favorite engage unit now im building a fallen delthea because i love her
As long as their stats aren't a total waste (talking about allocation) and you have every intention of Max merging and Max Flower (eventually, cuz dear lord the flowers) the demotes / non prf GHBs, then I say they're worth it (if you have the good fodder. 9/10 times also an arcane weapon if their prf blows or they don't have one). Because Arcane weapons in general make up for the "Offensive" part for character weapons. Like I'm using a +10 Lloyd (with like half Dragon Flowers) and just sitting on him until his Resplendent shows up. Threw Arcane Devourer, Glacies, ATK/SPD Finish 4, Close-Call 4, Time Pulse 4 (with a God-like Reflexes & SpdSmoke 4 build on the side) on the coked'out dude and honestly, he puts in work. Is he at most a tier "2-3" godsword? Yeah, but I know where to use him and what type of enemies to have him go up against. Like I can use him to tank some Magic Threats along with Dragon Enemies.
At the end of the day as long as it doesn't feel like bringing so-said unit is a chore and you have to do some major babysitting, then honestly old/current demotes are just as valid

My sophia is still viable against most units even the halloween one. Fm Grima is still a very good savior even more with the rearmed Dragon stone and Counter Roar. He doesn't die that easily.
Zeshado's Laslow is a prime example
Fehvorites over meta is the true creed for those that are free to play.

I've just recently finished my B!Ike, I know is not exactly F2P, but I had a lot of luck with him... could anyone recommend me what to do to put him back on track?
He's in a really rough spot sadly, since damage reduction was his entire playstyle and a lot of units can just bypass it now
