Oh man TYFYS your my hero

Thank you all and god bless my fellow firefighters and first responders.
Go get em brother
I used to work as a technician for a fire truck refurbishment facility. We did everything, Pearce, American LeFrance, Oshkosh, even some Military crash trucks (also made by Oshkosh). I can safely say, you can not imagine the amount of wiring and computer control some of these modern trucks have. It's mind boggling.
These new systems fail all the time too, it's really frustrating.
I'd trade one of those overprice computer on wheels junk for an old Mack anytime!.Seen those old Mack model B in action 24 hrs a day non stop for a week to empty a long tunnel that had flush flood in Montreal in the 1980's.Kenworth pumpers were no match for that kind of work!
I work for Oshkosh Corporation. I used to assemble the chassis for the Striker and the military vehicles we build (HEMTT, MATV, FMTV, HET, etc.) A lot of the main wiring harnesses run along the inside of the frame so if an issue were to arise it's not a fun fix.
Does your company currently hire a Firetruck Technician? Thanks

Fire trucks are red because bricks are red too. Two plus two is four, and four times three is twelve. Twelve inches in a ruler. Queen Elizabeth was a ruler, she ruled the seas. The seas have fish, the fish have fins, the Finns fought the Russians, the Russians are red, and fire trucks are always rushin'. That's why fire trucks are red.
Thanks for typing out what Siri says if you ask her that
glad we got that all sorted out.

As I fire fighter I love this video. Some mistakes but otherwise y’all did great research and none the less you guys did it perfect.

I saw Squirtle, but no Squirtle Squad.....
Said braithwaite wrong but that's understandable. It's nice to see fire trucks on the channel. My family has been in the fire fightin business since 1918. :)
You forgot the "ROSENBAUER" firetrucks from Austria !!!!
Altough it's in the Thumbnail!!
As someone who is from Oshkosh and currently works as an engineer for Pierce, this just might be my favorite WheelHouse video.
I cant wait for my departments new truck to come in. Imma 17 year old firefighter and come from a line of fire men and women in my family thank you donut media for this reconition im sure if we could meet up my department in ny would show you all our apperatues 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸❤

My dad's been a firefighter 23 years! seeing one of my favorite channels make a video on firetrucks really made my day thank you!
"The Pierce Enforcer"
*Shows three photos of Enforcers and then randomly throws a Velocity in there as well.*
Lollllll
Awesome video. Having been a volunteer firefighter for six years now, I loved seeing this video pop up on my recommended videos. Though some very minute errors, I enjoyed watching this. Thank you Donut Media, I love watching everything you all post!

Now that you've done firetrucks, how about videos on semi trucks?
How about modified Kawasaki Versys 250 into a firecycle

Bugatti and Koenigsegg struggling to do 300 mph, meanwhile 407 mph by vintage truck. Who needs aero, am I right?
I mean, as long as you blast more power, you can overcome air... not easily, but you will
When did they say that?
Mind you the Dodge Daytona has a NA V8 Hemi and a 4spd manual for its nascar trim and topped out at over 210 in 1970.
Jet engines aren’t road legal though
407 for a jet powered vehicle is pretty slow considering what Thrust SSC and Bloodhound SSC has achieved.
I’m so glad Nolan likes fire trucks! I did some fire fighting in high school in Australia. I own a 1957 Land Rover fire tender/quick response which was custom built by Land Rover, it has a 2.0L i4 with an eight forward speed 4X4 drive line.
My dad tired after 20 years as a firefighter. Thank you for this video.

that's what the grandson calls 'em. What kid doesn't dig firetrucks?
As someone who has an uncle who is a retired fireman, a brother who is a retired vol. fireman due to injury, and a g/f who is a vol. firewoman/first responder, I have nothing but the utmost respect for anyone who does this kind of work, and firetrucks are some very awesome beast indeed.

Miss the old Macks. When I was a kid, my home town had the 80s Macks. They were workhorses. Haven't seen one since my childhood, but, where my dad began fighting fires 20 years ago, the bulldog is still their mascot because of the Mack trucks, even though they no longer have any Macks.
So you have 5000 gallon tanks and pumps that can do 8000l/min
Gg murica
Firetrucks will always try to connect to a hydrant as soon as possible, and while the pumps can pump out alot, only so much can come out of the fire hose. For example a 2 1/2 inch hose can shoot around 200 to 300 gpm
Nice job putting Psyduck and Squirtle into these water filled roadships.
Firefighters use air packs not oxygen tanks. Because oxygen is flammable and it could blow up in the fire.
Proud to be a firefighter and do everything I can for the community
Thirst
As a firefighter I would like to point out that while I personally have never heard a pumper referred to as a wagon, they are usually reffered to as engines. At least in my area.
A pumper is an engine,
An Ariel ladder with no platform is a ladder truck,
A ladder truck with a bucket or platform on the end of the ladder is a tower truck
And most engines are capable of drafting, or pulling water out of a lake or stream. Tanker trucks are more suited for wild land firefighting just because they can carry significantly more water.
All that being said there was a lot of fantastic info in here about the history of the trucks. Great video.
Iron that shirt dammit. Look at those wrinkles. #Petpeeve 😫
WheelHouse is Donut’s crown jewel. And firemen have nuts the size of trucks.

I watched this video on my lunch break at the E-One plant and soon I'll get back to building the finest fire fighting equipment ever. I started almost 20 years ago building our Titan series of ARFF trucks and they're still my favorites.

I just became a volunteer firefighter and I freaking loved this episode!
Love being a firefighter...and awesome video
4:52 That 5,000 gallon truck is not a pumper. It is technically a tanker. Usually at that size, they don't pump, but act as giant reservoirs used for forest fire or rural operations. One thing that you might find interesting is what is known as a "tender taskforce" tenders are "pumpers" (we use the term engines) that have a large capacity (ours had about 2,000 gallons) and a dump valve (which ours could dump the entire 2,000 gallon tank out of a chute in a minute). Now you might ask, "for what purpose would there be to dump water on the ground like that?" They often carry portable ponds. IN rural areas with large fires needing extended operations, a team will setup at a hydrant. The tender comes to fill at the hydrant, and then trucks the water to the scene. It's dumped in a large, framed, essentially nylon bag called a portable pond. From this pond, water is drafted into an engine and fed to attack lines. Essentially, if there is no body of water nearby, and no hydrant, you bring the water to you.
Edit: saw you included the tender... was seconds off.
Seeing those big Oshkosh plane crash tenders made feel like a 10-year-old again, just fantasizing over these big, awesome red trucks that looked big and mean and badass! :D
Using the logic of "More wheels = more coolness"!
Haha. You can go on websites like govdeals or govplanet and purchase fire trucks. Oshkosh Strykers are popular but they tend to have issues with the foam and water spraying apparatus I’ve found out.
the oshkosh airport firetrucks just look so futuristic and cool
As a volunteer fireman my self in NYS I would like to make a few notes one the Truck @ 5:15 is not a ladder truck it is called a Quint it already has a hose running up the ladder, second thing the the the main trucks we use the most in my experience are Tankers, pumpers, and ladder trucks/Quints or Bucket trucks it depends on the apparatus . I could go into more detail but I feel that those are the most important ones on the fire ground. other than the firemen them selfs. besides that this video is really informational with some variances between the country's and states. Thanks for the vid keep it up.
Happy you guys made this video I'm volunteer fireman in my town.
Awesome episode, made me feel like a kid again, geeking out and learning all about the different Firetrack types.
Squirtle squad! Damn fire trucks came a long way
Would love to also see the history of Ambulances👍🏼👍🏼
6:04 LITERS! HE SAID LITERS! I'm so proud of you using metric units!
A crash tender is a specialized firetruck used in an airport (in aircraft fires and fires resulting from airplane crashes, but can be used also for building fires). Most of the crash tenders in use today are manufactured by Rosenbauer.
more like this please!!!! 🙌💯
I love fire trucks too! I think most boys in their childhood loved them too! What was not to like, they were big, red, made all kinds of sounds on their way out to a call and could send off high powered streams of water to quell fires. Not to mentions, that fire fighters, in their kit are modern day knights. 🙂👍
Thank very much boys. Uniondale Midtown truck Ladder 4 NY
Tillers aren’t bastards!!!! They’re beautiful offspring that are loved and coveted by all. 👨🏻🚒🚒
Thank you for showing Hale pumps in your video am proud for making this product that can be used to save life’s
Fun fact: Just before the Halifax explosion that killed over 2000 in 1917, the area recently commissioned their first ever fire engine.
The fire engine showed up to the site of the fire in record time, and many firefighters and first responders were killed in the ensuing blast.
Had those fire fighters still had horse powered machines, many more lives could have been saved.
Been a firefighter for several years. Love my job!
