- ok so this is the legendary levin with the 4age 20v TRD engine(yes the one takumi has in initial D)searched a lot to find it...so here it is enjoy :) 11.000rpm 241 horses and 4 magic butterflies :)
Iida Akira called in a few favors and managed to get all these parts from TRD... In an interview he said that he always wanted one and he finally had the chance to make it happen :)
Edit:Ok so i though it was called formula atlantic!and yes it is a levin...i was so excited that i did not notice the headlights...plz stop correcting me...i did not upload this video to show my knowledge about toyota(which is not pro), i did it cause it's a hard to find video and i was searching almost a month to find it!

This is a Group A TRD kit for the 20v. He even says it in the video. The formula atlantic is a american TRD version of the 16v
formula atlantic was 16v 4age.
The engine that Iida uses on his ae86 is the TRD Group A AE101 20v.
Those rumours are actually quite correct. Because they have such high output of cars their plans aren't really to reuse them which is why we used to get so many imports from Japan. We'd get all the cars that they WERE going to send to the scrap yard. New Zealand has since put a restriction on imported cars, can't be older than 2005 which is VERY VERY sad.. No more nice cars now. :/

a 1.9 stroker kit for a 4age can output 12000 rpm at redline and we are not even talking about vtec, its just pure trd power
@@laszlopeterbalazs8040 it can output 12000rpm? Rpm isn't a measure of power, almost any car can rev that high doesn't mean it makes power.

that is a Levin..... like other people said, this engine has nothing to do with formula atlantic(they built the car @ RS*R). the engine is a Toyota Group A. AE101corolla 20valve 4A-GE engine, normally this engine can reach 11,500 rpm no problem(with 255HP), but due to reliability issues, akira decided to rev limit it at 9500 RPM (still makes 230HP@ 9500rpm). NO, THIS ENGINE IS NOT FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. akira got it cuz he is a GT500 driver!! the engine parts cost him about 50,000 dollars!!!!
the formula atlantic has a dinosaur like head. this was initially a regular 20v silvertop, but built up with some aftermarket internals!

at the time i uploaded this vid i did a search and the cost was rather low...about 13.000$ in upgrade parts(without electronics ecu-ignition etc) if you have a stock 20v engine...that is if i remember correctly...
I think I should add in a rumour that I've heard also. Some say that you should run in the engine as hard as possible to get oil all throughout the engine for it to last long, or to run the engine in on how you're going to be using it. Haven't tried but have heard about people doing it. Interesting to say the least :p
And it also proves why my 1981 Corolla only has an odometer that goes up to 99,999km. Instead of 999,999km. :)
i hear that in japan they do not run the engine in.Actually the cars that they buy(normal no tuners) are meant to last for 2 years tops.I hear rumors that they don't even change the motor oil or tyres until they send the car to the scrapyard and buy another one.and that's why you see Option stream videos with tsuchiya etc mention what tyres the car has from the factory.I never been to Japan so these are all rumors to me ;)
@wikedkewl actually it was 16v red stop that blew his motor against the evo and then to the 20v silver top that was modified with trd parts
I'm pretty sure the 20v motor was used in group a and the formula atlantic was a special 16 v head

The weird part is that the Greek Goverment pays a very heavy "Fine" to EU for having greek citizens to pay taxes-customs for a car bought inside the EU...BUT, the income from Imports(taxes and customs) are higher than the "Fine"...even Gasoline cost 1.75€/ltr and the tax in that is 1.3€+ not to mention cigarettes(80% of greeks smoke)that cost 1.4/packet tax-free and here we pay it 4 euro a packet, so 2.8€ tax there...The economic Crisis is Fake.They want just to turn Greece into China.

they do take good care of the car if it's a levin, a supra, an evo or sth...They do not take good care if they have an Aygo...They just want to go to their jobs and then buy a new one in 2 years!

I see ;) too bad for that restriction.Here in greece there is no such thing but to import a car from anywhere you have to pay Taxes that are much more expensive than the value of the car.For example if i want to import a BMW from germany that i bought there for 1000 euro i have to pay at least 3000 more for Taxes-Customs clearance.Which actually it's illegal because Germany is in the European Union, thus the car already paid taxes in EU by the previous owner :P Fucked up System

dukeofdream έχω ακούσει πως αυτοί οι κινητήρες πρέπει να είναι σχεδόν συνέχεια στις καλύτερες επιδόσεις τους ξέρεις 8 με 10000 στροφές αλλά μπορεί να κάνω λάθος

Αλλά γενικότερα, οποιοδήποτε φτιαγμένο ατμοσφαιρικό μοτερ λόγο εκκεντροφόρων, πάντα το φάσμα του είναι ψηλά, αυτό δεν έχει να κάνει με το αν είναι street legal ή όχι ;) Οτιδήποτε δεν είναι μαμά, θεωρητικά ΔΕΝ είναι street-legal...

i read an article about this kind of running in the other day...It also mentioned that the way we use to run in our engines is in fact killing them...It's guite difficult for me to try that kind of unorthodox run in , in any kind of engine that will cost me much $ to rebuild if this info is a fraud :(
actually you can't! Iida went through a lot to get his hands on these parts...

With how much one of these engines costs now, it's pretty much cheaper to buy a brand new GT86.
Comment revival but for people that see this comment YES they are expensive when brought but you could probably buy the parts or have the custom made and assemble it yourself for cheap.

217kw = 217,000 watts divided by 746watts (1hp) = 290hp.. said no NA 1.6 4age ever..
now is between hp and ps.. and since its in japan its obviously PS which is their way of saying hp..
well, maybe it was WHP, or instead the car rev limiter was lowered to 9.000 or sth like that

@@ITSMRFOXY ps and horsepower are almost a 1:1 conversion.. 1ps is 98.6% of 1 hp.. so technically they are indeed the same shit.
