Sheldon controlled himself and acknowledged he could not do the interview once faced with that fact. I call that personal growth.
I wished the writers had instead made Leonard win, and forced Sheldon to learn a lesson of humility. It would also be a callback to the pilot and Leonard proving Sheldon wrong about him one day winning a Nobel Prize.
The fact that he could show himself to the car shows how much he has matured

Having Sheldon win the Nobel prize is great but why did the writers have to include Amy though???
It didn't seem to make sense at all as Sheldon's the only main character who's had a strong interest in the Nobel prize which makes me wonder why does Sheldon not carry on without them on his spare time.
His paper was a collaboration with Amy, it was a combine of their ideas, while it would of been like sheldon to take full credit, both where involved and she was listed as co-author, something sheldon does not just hand out lightly as seen in previous episodes

Because neither Amy publishing papers nor collaborating with Sheldon demanded that she care about the Nobel. And having them working together allowed them to go together through the crises of their article being disproved instead of just having Amy holding Sheldon's hand.
Amy actually helped Sheldon write the paper, so she absolutely deserved the Nobel prize as her name is on the paper as well

I have seen the prequel first before beginning to watch Big Bang... In my opinion he was a nicer child than adult. I have often been surprised his friends don't tell him to get lost half the time lol

@esuavevillegas No, and stop repeating this BS. Leonard was never written as a brilliant scientist to the degree that he could win a Nobel, and he never once talked about wanting to win the Nobel, it was never Leonard's goal in life, so it would be terrible, retcon, and inconsequential writing. Sheldon talked about his dream of winning the Nobel since day 1 on the show, that was his storyline since the beginning, and the conclusion could be only one. So stop writing these same comments fawning over Leonard over and over, we get it - you love Leonard, but that actually makes you sound crazy, obsessed, and foolish, writing the same over and over. Stop!
While that maybe true, a good twist would be for Leonard to win it instead. Sheldon winning it makes the show a children's novel where you know that the protagonist is gonna kill the dragon and save the princess and they will live happily everafter with most of the conflict, plot, and growth not really being meaningful. On the other hand, if Leonard won it and Sheldon was able to not only cope with it but also sincerely congratulate him, this would signal the climax of Sheldon's growth as a person throughout the seasons.
