This was with the last incarnation of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, of course. Personal was: John McLaughlin - guitar, guitar synth Stu Goldberg - keyboards Ralphe Armstrong - bass Narada Michael Walden - drums
Thank you so much for this. Yea, he already had Shakti in the works. This is a gem. What a setting, right there on the shores, I wish we could get a concert of this show. What great words of wisdom by John regardless of what religion one practices.
OMG, that's really ultra rare and never seen before footage. I even didn't know they also played in Finland at that tour. Wow! I saw them around the same time at the Ludwigsburg Golden Summernight Festival right after Ike & Tina Turner. It was phenomenal. The loudest concert in my life. There was a short interview on the local news show too, back then. I never could find that anywhere. Did you recognise Narada Michael Walden in the background? And did you hear what John says about early Shakti? "Better than Ravi Shankar". Very funny. 🤣 Thanks so much for sharing!
