Yes this was more so for the sake that it can take more of a beating from the pigs without damage or leaks because the rubber bushing allows for more movement. Both options work though. We have since moved away from this set up and switched to an auto filling trough with a hot electric line over it to keep the pigs from climbing in it. Has made watering the pigs quite a bit less time consuming. Downside is having to pin the trough down like fortknox or the pigs bump it to try and splash water out of it to make mud wallows in the summer. No matter the method the pigs are always testing the limits of everything.😅😂 Thanks for watching!
