Awesome performance by the fabulous Judy! This is absolutely one heckuva tremendous wall of sound tsunami of a song by one heckuva singer with an awesome arrangement by Jack Nitszche and accompaniment by who must be the famed Wrecking Crew! One of Judy's greatest.
She's an inspiration. Power, range , flexibility , emotion and evocative of a time when real talent and ability shone through
This has a surreal Wall of Sound vibe. Great, rare stuff. Thanks for posting.
I first heard this song in a little folk club in Glendale, Ca. sung by the great Hearts and Flowers. Acoustic folk at its best. This version as noted reconstructed to the max. But I like it. If you can't be civil be quiet. Thanks for the sharing. Good channel.
I lived in Glendale once too
Great and intense
Thank you for posting this. I really enjoy this music. " Is she completely tone-deaf?" I can not say, but I liker her voice. A friend from Norway.
Think her vocal performance on this transcends the restrictive, quaint notion of 'tone-deaf'...
This is magnificent
About 20 years ago this song was the soundtrack of a short Fellini video awesome incredible surrealistic imagery and then it disappeared has anyone seen it? does anyone know where that clip is or where it can be found?
Just GREAT!
I've got this seven inch, a treasured, not going anywhere record.
Rest in peace, Judy 😞
Prod & Arr by jack nitzsche (1966). I think that time, pure spirit stream.
Great arrangement by Jack Nitzsche. And great vocals. Better than King and Trash.
RIP
i didn't know it was a crole king track!!
Amazing
Absolutely amazing! What a performance!
if Nico was soul singer
That's definitely food for thought. Nico and Judy Henske are both awesome singers.
Rest In Peace.
so fucking brilliant track, it remind me a bit ( but not for the voice) all tomorrow's parties from velvet u.
Has a bit of Venus In Chains in it as well
Having heard the demos of the Velvets songs from VU And Nico album it's strange that two producers seemed to have the same ideas when one track was recorded in New York and the other in Los Angeles.
Henske was however part of the Greenwich Village Folk music scene in the early '60's.
The song was 'Venus In Furs' not chains by the Velvet Underground.
Que vocais!!!!!!!!!
Rlp
So incredibly bad, it's fascinating. Judy Henske is such an interesting singer. Is she completely tone-deaf? Or does she just enjoy singing flat? It doesn't matter, because the fatalistic mood comes across brilliantly. It's timely too -- Judy might as well be singing this to Donald Trump. Don't listen to this on acid.
Wow, you meet such nice people here on UA-cam. Do you come here often?
Will Adapter hey you two stop fighting ....you're both right its a car wax and a dessert topping!
@@tomwilson8607 Hahahaha thank you my sentiments exactly
